  1. The title explains the entire concept mostly. Currently, the Nations API(or the Nation API) doesn't supply a field for Discord User Name or Discord ID. The suggestion is that these two be included in all APIs about Nation Info. Currently, we can put our Discord User Name (Eg: BABAI#0570) on the Nation Page. However, the problem with this is the Discord User Name can be changed at anytime. This might cause problems when we are pulling data via the proposed API addition since the username provided on the nation page might be outdated or you might not share a common server with them. This problem however can be easily solved by using the Discord User ID (Eg: 790948467425673226) which never changes unless an entirely different account is used. Using the Discord User ID will also solve the problems that may arise from not sharing a server with the person whose Discord Account you are trying to track. The problem with asking people to put their Discord ID however is that everyone might not know how to get their ID. Hence why I also propose adding an entirely new field for this ID thing. So now we have two different fields: One for Discord User Name and another for Discord User ID, both available via the API as well. Addition of the User ID will make life easy for every department in existence as well. Milcom can use the pulled ID to make bots to ping you if you get attacked, IA can use it to keep track of their members, FA can use it to find the people they are looking for, Econ can use it to check if users are online when sending grants, etc. That's all for the suggestion.

  3. A change is well overdue. We've all been on the losing sides of a war and we all know how ridiculously OP Iron Dome is. Either nerf Iron Dome or increase missile construction capability. For literal years we've been trying to improve the losing sides ability to inflict damage and keep the individual player active and this is one of the best ways of doing so. Zeroed players, whose only option is to lob a nuke and/or one or two missiles per day against 3-8 opponents shouldn't deal with 50/50 odds.

  6. I fixed it for you 👍 If you want a multi-polar world, it needs to be derived from natural divides between alliances. It can't be forced or "agreed to" out of "principles" since it will simply never work due to human nature being rather, well, self-serving. Truth be told, I'm thinking ingame scarcity resource might be the true answer. Most wars arise from largely out of game interactions, leaders plotting against other leaders due to personal feelings or indeed, in response to plotting itself. If we had mechanics ingame such as having team colours and/or treaties offering enough worthwhile benefits to cause actual conflict, this competition might be enough to cause meaningful differences between alliances and spheres for a multi polar world to develop. Mechanics which granted significant bonuses to dominating teams, colours or even continents for that matter, might drive the creation of multipolar conflicts because after all, right now we are all forced to rely upon the words of these few lucky enough to be in gov. Which yeah, hasn't turned out well...

  7. That is a chicken or the egg argument if I have ever seen it. Would mini-spheres need to team up if one sphere is so giant that none can stand against it? What I find interesting about minispheres is that they can team up one war to fight someone, and the next war they could be fighting each other. It just doesn't work when one sphere is so large they cant be stopped without the other spheres teaming up.

  15. Exactly what Chaos and KETOGG did. I agree wholeheartedly with this. EDIT: To those stating that minispheres couldn't work. No matter what "system" you guys put into place, none of it will work according to your expectations. Every alliance paperless? You'll still get alliances working together. Minispheres? You'll still get multiple spheres working together. One !@#$yuge treaty web? You'll still get alliances working together, even if they're tied up by their third cousin and working against/for each other. (Example would be Syndisphere back in the day, how @Prefonteen managed to wrangle up various support at odd times) The idea of paperless alliances (Like @Roberts is wanting) and minispheres (Where only a small cluster of alliances are tied together in their own little corner of the world) is the perception of flexibility - just like what @Sweeeeet Ronny D said in the quote. EDIT #2: @Cooper_ - TKR benefited from KETOGG turning and helping Chaos out. If we practiced what you preached, Chaos would've been burned to the ground and TKR would be forced into... whatever the hell NPO and BK wanted out of your alliance. You'd fight, but they wouldn't relent.

  16. as for the upkeep cost, the purchaser is not effected by the selller's upkeep cost, as well as the fact that 9 people can build and sell them that turn before paying upkeep, then the purchaser can fire before paying upkeep, essentially gaining the power to build and launch multiple nukes, instead of paying upkeep for days as they build up their stockpile and risking them being wiped. an alliance or coalition could easily coordinate both the breaking of blockades and the build and sell and launch on an enemy on one turn, so noone pays upkeeps, just the build price. and a solo attacker could easily pay someone to break blockades or run max ships they can also just buy 3 extra Nukes before being countered, so that even if the 3 daily ops are used to wipe nukes, they are not stopped. and can do this every round unless you're rotating blockades on them. there is also the politcal mess this would cause, as there could be a "neutral" alliance in a conflict serving as a Nuke Factory & Storage for one side of the conflict. for this to ever work there would have to be caps & restricitions a cap on how many you can buy per turn/per day a requirement for the nuke to be a turn or day old to sell. and so on..

  18. I am glad that KT have a high morale. I don't like beat weak minded alliances just make me feel bad for them. But in this case I am going to have fun with this yay! Only cons is it will be super hard to find a slot. But I expect some wild attacks to be launched by them to keep me entertained Also thanks to KT, Aurora can use Oasis themed war flag for the first time. May ours goddess's voice calm you in your space venture. Don't forget to get oxygen with you, but if you do then just fall in love with the sound making your last breaths and staying in space forever ❤️

  20. I’ve been thinking a lot lately, there is no real incentive for war in this game at this point. All of our reasons for war have been OOC based. I believe this stems from all major alliances adopting the same policies(no raiding top 50, switching to color, maintaining peace, etc) There are no mechanics for the game to successfully bring out war by itself. To negative those who would come into this thread and say “to keep your enemies from growing to fast, to stop a whale-tier alliance like Grumpy from dominating a tier” when have we, as players, consistently and fundamental used that without ulterior motives being at play? All in all, the game needs more features that would force or give reasons for alliances to go to war. Something needs a buff, or resources need a cap or to expire over time through degradation or something, to make alliances feel urged to do things. what were other’s thoughts on this matter?

  22. I'll keep this short and sweet. Knights Templar had a member continue to attack Oasis members, their government was asked to peace the wars or boot the member. Last time this member hit us they countered our counters. This was not an isolated incident. The KT gov instead stands by the actions of this member to raid us continually and is in violation of the NAP. Oasis has sent a military response towards KT and recognizes their hostilities towards us.

  23. If you want the game to not be boring, and to be fun, and not be dropped, and to be played, as to not be ignored for months during our half year long wars, or to actually be actively played by the players. If you don't care about players you wouldn't do so, while if you care about players you would do so. To say so in as few words as possible. I can't stress enough the importance of making the *video game* actually playable by a player at all times while being fun and engaging and not just when other people in the meta game decide so. Other than maybe using the test server to test things, this can't be anything but the most important thing to do if you actually want people to play your game.

  24. It would show weakness. Is GOB such a miserable place that you're at risk of losing members because someone sent a message? That would be quite sad. Any alliance that has its IA in order should honestly thank other parties for stripping away disloyal members and dead weight. Needless to say, the act of "poaching" in this sort of mass-messaging manner is pretty stupid for the "poacher," as they would get only bottom-of-the-barrel members for their efforts. Yes, "poaching" is often used as a paper thin excuse to start a war, when one can't find any better reason to start a war they want, but it isn't a real CB, it simply isn't. It also indicates that an alliance views it's members as property instead of free individuals. It should be no surprise that the origins of this "CB" come from off-world, from none other than NPO, when they needed an excuse to hit someone, and also because they're a literal cult. It's also usually rolled out when one individual makes a free choice to join their friends in another alliance. For that reason alone, the norm of using "poaching" as a CB should be done away with. People should be free to make that choice, and bad, whiny leaders need to take the message that they're a shit leader if they can't retain people.

  26. I'm guessing that Grave wanted to do the maximum infra damage and thus focused on hitting that instead of other targets. Regardless, your words got me thinking, could Oasis really be flagging? As a member of Oasis Bloc, I decided to see if there was a KT nation that wasn't beiged or fully slotted in close range to my own and join in the fight. Found nothing. So I decided to check all the way up to the maximum that I could hit- all slotted as well. So guessing you're just being your usual humorous self :-p.

  27. Grave, the head of milcom for TI, got beiged! How could this happen with a 15+ to 1 advantage? I'll tell you how! There's no morale left already. The Oasis is drying up! The bloc may be disbanded before the next global even starts. Very tragic situation!

  32. To be honest, I would significantly increase the bonuses. If the goal is to disrupt the meta and really add flavour via specialisation, then the bonuses have to be worthwhile instead of just just a couple % here and there. The bonuses have to really encourage a nation making the decision to specialise in a particular build so we can get rid of this approach to just whale it and buy everything and add some variety to the meta. 1 or 2% bonuses aren't really going to encourage much changes to the meta when the daily login bonus on its own exceeds most of the % benefits after all.

  34. I'm personally always wishy-washy on NAPs. I hate long ones, but shorter ones (3mos or less) are fine imo. I'd be hypocritical though considering I pretty much heavily emphasized for a long one after that stupidity with NPO and Friends. The only real reason why I did so was to allow players and alliances to readjust to things and figure out what they wanted to do moving on. Plus there was just way too much damage done in all areas of the game. And as a side note, there were some actual game changes coming up that I was hoping would improve the game once the NAP ended.

  35. Then the status quo is better. since infra costs increase exponentially, two missiles who do 50% damage on two different 2000 inrfa cities is alot more damage than 1 missile doing 100% damage on one 2000 infra city.

  37. The truth of the matter is that there are more and less effective political philosophies. Not more fun or more interesting, but merely more effective in accumulating and maintaining power. Often, and is this case, the more boring and more calcified, the more effective. Simply accumulating more people than everyone else has been a winning strategy forever, and if those people are unambitious, them being chained together into an immobile blob doesn't even bother them. This isn't even fun for those controlling the gigantic blob however, as the fruits of victory are as ashes in your mouth. The same unambitious blob that allows you to sit atop your golden throne also are those who prefer maintaining the status quo and aren't interested in embarking on things that might be fun. At the core of power, is an immense brain drain, as the bored and ambitious split away to do something for once. On the other side of the equation people with extremely risky, bold and ambitious alliance projects inevitably succeed in eventually toppling any hegemony, no matter how enormous, as hegemonies rot from the inside out. The problem is once toppled, these alliances either have to entirely reinvent themselves or die from the disease that brought them low. Learning no lessons, those who had toppled them from their golden thrones often will immediately jettison those too ambitious to be their vassal meat shields and will accumulate the same sort of hangers-on that the previous hegemony had, and the cycle repeats itself.

And yeah, sometimes I want to give something poetic two upvotes too, but it's just not a thing. ...I'm contributing to the discussion which this clearly is, so rather than give me a warn for 'non-discussion forum' (again) mods please move this to the standard moderation support section kthx
