So uhh. . . You might want to adjust those rates, wampus has 51250 tanks and could kill 3416 planes in 1 attack. . . Just seems a little flawed11 points

I threw most of this together as a quick dark theme alternative a couple years ago and have been gradually expanding it for greater customization. More specifically to allow for color selection rather than purely a fixed theme. It's reached the point of being quite usable and in need of a larger testing audience. To install it you'll need a user styles manager such as Stylus (available for Firefox and Chrome). Then all you need to do is click here: Some screenshots below of its default color scheme: No more tiny bank input fields! And of course if that color scheme isn't manly enough for you there is always the option to do this:8 points

As someone who habitually went against whales, it's not the only way to beat larger nations. Planes are OP for the reason of they're the only unit that can take out other units besides its own type. If you win with planes you can kill any units. If you win with navy you can only kill ships. This dynamic needs to change, and has needed to change for a long time. The way to go about it is either make planes only kill planes, or make other things able to kill other things as well.8 points

Tanks are fine tbh. Main benefit is the ground advantage vs. soldiers + extra loot. I don't think tanks are unbalanced; plane balance should be addressed but you do that either through readjusting numbers or (suggestion incoming...) actually introducing a standalone AA unit. Imo war mechanics could do with a new feature to make it more interesting/less stale. So my personal suggestion would be to introduce a new improvement, something along the lines of an artillery factory which could produce 3 types of unit: - Anti-Air (good vs. planes but relatively useless vs. soldiers/tanks). Can only be used defensively. - Anti-Tank (good vs. tanks, less effective vs. soldiers, relatively useless vs. planes). Less effective on offense. - Artillery (good vs. soldiers, less effective vs. tanks, relatively useless vs. planes). Less effective on offense. In terms of numbers something like this, similar to tank factory: manufacture 150 artillery pieces per day, max 750 per factory. Running costs $30 per day in peace, $45 wartime, 1 per 100 artillery. Max 5 factories per city. Unit cost $40 and 1. Or something along those sort of lines. Imo would make things a lot more interesting in terms of strategy choosing artillery composition (i.e. you have max 750 per factory but have to choose which of the 3 units / or what ratio you want to use - with the same recruitment rate as tanks, i.e. 5 days to max out, it would take some time to switch out composition to effectively counter enemy setup). Whether Alex would be arsed to make such a change is another question altogether. But if you want to do something with the war system imo this is the way to do it.6 points

Rates need a little work, but I like the concept. Should be good to waste steel on building tanks again.?5 points

I think that's a good idea. It's not related to the game at all, and like baseball, was something that was a fun project for me (creating my own keno games) but really adds nothing to the nation simulation experience and doesn't belong at all.4 points

Just to clarify and restate, the justification, at least for Chaos, was that the then-three-times-our-size BK sphere was going to slam us on our rebuild post Surf's Up. We had solid reasoning for believing that prior to this current war happening and we've had it confirmed since by several sources since. Our motivation in this war was not "glory" or an easy win but for protection and self-preservation. You can call BK sphere the worse fighters (although I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate you saying that) but it matters little how good the other fighters are when they're making an offensive 3 to 1 attack on a beaten down sphere. We (Chaos) knew it wasn't something we could do by ourselves in the state we were in or the numbers we had and therefore, it seemed a dumb idea not to take people up on their offers when they were presented to us. Following the start of the war, I was very forthcoming with your ally in t$ about our goals when they asked and tried to make it clear this coalition was a temporary partnership that we had no interest in rekindling once the war had ended, even following the hit on Guardian/Grumpy. I did all that because I believed t$ when they said they wouldn't be extending past Guardian/Grumpy and so I responded in kind by trying to provide your sphere both in that discussion and publicly on the OWF with reassurance we wouldn't be escalating things and ammunition to use against me should I go back on my word. So yes, with all that in mind, I think you continually dismissing it as a move made purely for an easy win (which is insane considering the state we started the war in)/saying we were just going for a gang bang on BK sphere, claiming we intending to escalate the fight to you, and stating that we are buddy buddy with just about everyone, including your own allies, showcases one of the following: You're completely ignorant on our FA, goals, and motivators and default to thinking the absolute worst case scenario of us in every situation because you don't trust us You have a terrible network of sources and/or are easily led/riled up You're purposefully ignoring and/or manipulating the facts in favor of your own narrative and goals Or some combination thereof, which is probably the most likely. And, you know what, fair enough on the first thing. I mean, you've made it obvious you don't trust us and you and your gov have made no sincere attempts to talk to us at all in the last year so of course you don't understand us. The lack of communication combined with the statements you've made in regards to how you believe we operate and what our goals are both during and preceding this war makes it all the more apparent that you don't get it. But considering just how incredibly off-kilter your claims have consistently been, I'm inclined to believe the latter two play a more significant role in how you approach FA than you care to admit publicly.3 points

I like the idea of ground units being able to defend from aircraft but they shouldnt be able to attack them. Anti-air is only used when the target is being defended from air attacks.2 points

I'll just quote the game, "Tanks are ground battle enhancers. They dramatically increase the effectiveness of your ground army." Tanks are in a good place as is. Unlike with soldiers and planes, you must assess your situation to determine whether it is appropriate to build tanks or not. One of the major complaints with baseball is its mindless ‘clicker game’ nature, so I take more thinking between clicks to be a good thing. And both sides in the current war have deemed tanks to be valuable despite all their downsides. Tanks are a situational unit. If you build tanks while your opponent has air control, you rightly deserve to suffer. The concern over updeclares is certainly well founded. As the game stands, they are only possible because planes are fast to destroy and slow to build. Once prospective harpooners have to win an uphill battle on the ground as well as in the air, it becomes nearly impossible to effectively bring down a larger nation than your own.2 points

Your first line basically means Aircrafts can do more damage since wars with planes only last longer. You are contradicting yourself here and strengthening my point of how OP aircrafts are. They can destroy Aircrafts AND Tanks. What is being suggested here is we let tanks do the same thing Tanks are super costly-they cost 1 steel to produce. And when Airstriked, you lose 2000 steel in a go at the least. Aircrafts on the other hand cost 4 aluminium. When airstriked, you can lose like 1200 aluminium and some cash on average. The suggestion here is to equalize the damage done. The OP makes the tanks OP so I've suggested decreasing the ratio by another factor of 10. Then, we take out like 50 aircrafts~150 aluminium. This is still way too small though and wont even have that much of an impact except curbing how many units you gain a day. Even if the largest nation was in a war, he takes out say 800 air with AS on air and around 9000+ tanks with AS on tanks Equating, thats 2400 alu but 9000 steel You can already see how damaging aircrafts are from this example. But if implemented, there is an extra 300 air taken out making the damage equal to 1200ish planes or 3600 alu, bridging the gap by a bit2 points

Numbers can be played about with of course. In terms of raw combat value they should be less effective than tanks imo but thats made up with their effectiveness vs. their respective counter. I haven't really put that much more thought towards the numbers tbh but something along those sorta lines is what I'm envisioning. In terms of score could do similar tanks: (Artillery * 0.05) or play about with it depending on combat impact - certainly the disadvantage of fielding large numbers of artillery would be pushing the score range up so like everything else pros + cons with the military setup you run. Just makes things a bit more tactically diverse than the current system we have.2 points
-
What are you talking about? Tanks are constantly built and used by almost everyone. Some doctrines call for tanks to not be used early in the war in order to compress score, but after that even alliances following that doctrine boost their tanks. You're fundamentally misunderstanding why tanks tend to not be used by smaller nations in wars. In fact, The Covenant built tanks for our blitz against TS/TE and knocked out 80 nations in a day because we had land units when they didn't.2 points

I think its extra clicking needed to see your resources which I don't like. If resources always displayed at the top still or people could toggle it on/off; that would be better than its current state imo.2 points

CNGOONS 1s downfall was merely that no one in a position of power wanted to continue on, and by the time there were people who wanted to the damage had been done. That being said, this GOONS group has a mix of both CN1, CN2, and EVE GOONS to name a few. This group of gov within GOONS should rightfully scare the lot of you as we have some of the most competent browser GOONS ever put together. To anyone who thinks we're going to get bored and quit, you're living within a hope because GOONS won't be going anywhere without racking up a nice set of wins before we disappear.2 points

Okay. I understand you're not good at war. But the point of war is to cause as much sustained damage as you can. That means destroying units asap. I'm saying that aircraft are better at that, even more so than the proposed tanks.1 point

I know reading isn't your strong suit, but making an offshore was specifically mentioned in that. I also don't see how it's particularly odd to want a very specific person to have the ability to do that and not others. Again, thinking not your strong suit with the ridiculous rants you go on, or ever having been leader of an actual alliance as far as I know, but that's pretty normal.1 point

Honestly, I'm more than happy to see less money-spawning shenanigans in the game. There's other things I'd like to see more, but it's progress in a good direction. That said, let him keep the windfall, rules should never ever be changed retroactively.1 point

I believe that the game requires a national project that increases the production of mines from .25 per turn to .50 per turn or it could increase the limit of mines , this is because there are no resource projects that aren't mass irrigation or manufacturing1 point

Now, before you go guns-blazing in a war against keno, baseball, and everything else that makes this game fun, think about the game we're playing right now. This is politics and war. This is a game that lets you play baseball with your friends, keno away all of your money, and play dice until you're broke. This is not a game where you log-in everyday cause it looks nice and it's a spectacular game that is revolutionizing the gaming industry. There's too many game breaking bugs for that. Keno and baseball are both very fun games that you can play while your nation is doing nothing. They're a good way to avoid having this game die and become stupid. Keno and dice let you do something other than watch your nation burn. They're both the activities that will help you get through to the next day. So be it if some people win money from it. A. If 10k players play 1k games, and they all end up losing 1.750, that's 17 trillion dollars. That means, like, 34 people could win the 500 billion jackpot and still we'd be good. Also, in the long while that Keno has been out, has anyone ever won 500 billion? I've played at least 1800-3000 games of keno. Some people have played far more than me, and some people have played far less. Yet, I don't see anyone waving around their 500 billion dollars like a ticket to the Chocolate factory.1 point

Keno and Dice are not reliable monetary sources and are not comparable to baseball in that regard. Keno operates more like a money sink than it does a money generator and while some have made a net positive from playing it, that has not been the case for an unfortunate majority. Additionally, I think Keno and Dice make good in wars when you're blockaded and carrying money that you wouldn't want your enemies stealing. Gambling it on casino games yields either, a net gain which you gamble further or invest into your nation, or a net negative which your enemy can no longer steal. Yeah it's not what PnW is about, ultimately, but I think it's a mechanic that serves a unique purpose in losing wars; preventing the enemy from stealing money + little bit of fun if you happen to win.1 point

The reason it's not really that believable is because unifying "minispheres" to hit another sphere isn't exactly conducive to maintaining minispheres. It would make more sense if one truly believed in them to just take the losses on their own. The intuitive answer is you wanted to beat down an alliance or alliances at all costs and get a win.1 point

Greetings, Friends! The $yndicate has been having a tussle with the Black Knights. They hit our baby. We hit them back. They hit us. We hit them. The guineapig gurgled something about "Hostile tones", and back and forth we went! And now we're here. I ran out of spruces so you are stuck with !@#$gisan shitting on your desk out of boredom. That's Auctors fault if anyone wants to smash him into a locker. So where were we? Right! We at the $yndicate recognize hostilities with the following alliances, who have engaged offensive wars against The $yndicate: Black Knights The Commonwealth United Purple Nations Solar Knights Guardians of The Galaxy Acadia The IQ Collectible Trading Card Game (really pidgeon? That's a stupid premise for an alliance. Shame on you.) Now I know what you're thinking friends! "But Pragglesan. We already knew this! Go fight them then and shut up". NO. YOU SHUT UP AND SIT DOWN. You see. Our lawyer Choo Choo Praggle has adviced us to invoke article II of the Ocean Voyage accords signed and ratified between The $yndicate and the New Pacific Order on April 7th, 2019. The $yndicate formally points out that the following alliances are not directly allied to The Black Knights, and therefore have entered upon The $yndicate without semblance of just cause. Fortwith, The $yndicate formally calls upon The New Pacific Order to honor its agreement and enter into a state of war against these aggressors: - United Purple Nations - Acadia - Solar Knights Stay tuned for more $yndicate announcements, revelations, states of the unions and reports!
