KT is actually signing Pantheon. Not the horrid trolling that BK put out just a day or so ago. Announcement from the Great Hippo Khan of Orbis "Hey there, demons Orbis, it's me, ya hippo" There's been a lot of you pestering our leadership in our corner of the treaty web, with rampant speculation over what moves we're making. So we're just going to cut to the chase... ...Knights Templar is awfully bad at this. I'd rank them around BK level of being bad. That's how terrible they've been. When Theodosius is a leader of yours, you know it's going to be bad. Seriously though, we're signing Guardian and Grumpy and they'll be acclimating towards our neck of the woods. Some of you guessed it right, give yourself a pat on the back, and some of you... you folks had some wild speculation going. You folks should know better by now, once you're with us - you're with us. So I won't bore you with the fancy details. (Although @Vanek26 did have some pretty cool treaty titles. Golden Griffins, Shield and Cross Pact, etc. Grumpy just didn't care.) 72 hour cancellation notice at least, if it comes to that. MDP style (We did offer to give them a rainbow treaty setup, but Grumpy men want it simple) Intel clause is actually there. Not some fake shit that some of you folks pull off and sweep under the rug. The True The Vanguard welcomes the members of Guardian and Grumpy into the fold. Do we really need sigs? I just want to get on with this game.33 points

Poor @Maia... She is so sick... To all those dictators out there: Don't put rebels in prison, because then you make them heroes. Lock them in a mental asylum instead.3 points

A compromise -- Give alliance leaders the ability to see the embargo list for nations in their alliance. That way they can see if someone isn't following the order to "Embargo Alliance X" and instruct them to do so. Or when an alliance wide embargo is put in place, the member has to click something on a trade or embargo screen to agree to it. "Your alliance wants to embargo alliance X for Y reason(s) do you accept this embargo".3 points
-
You don't need alliance leaders to be able to force embargoes on your members, just have the alliance leaders instruct their members who to embargo. If you can't get your members to cooperate, kick them out of the alliance. I don't like the idea of taking away more sovereignty of individual players and putting it in the hands of the relatively few nations that control alliance governments.3 points

You need essentially 2 things to start a bank: Borrowers - People that want to borrow money from you and are willing to pay you interest on the loan. You need to be able to trust that these people will pay, and/or you need a way to enforce payment. Money - Either your own money or people willing to loan you money at an interest rate that is (at least slightly) lower than what you can extract from your borrowers. Also helpful: A gathering place for borrowers and lenders, such as a discord channel. A storage location (nation or alliance bank) that is reasonably safe from raiding where you can temporarily stash large sums of cash. A trustworthy staff to help you with raising capital, collecting interest, and paying interest. To make your bank successful will require a trustworthy reputation and a lot of work.2 points

Basically, I don't get where this notion of individual sovereignty comes from conflicting with something automatically imposed like the embargo. If people wanted to be able to determine their alliance's policies, surely democratic alliances would be more prominent. People choose to pool their sovereignty under the government on other hand here. This is because it is not an individual nation game. It's an alliance game as Sketchy said. If you want it to be an individual-oriented game, then you should have not introduced alliances to begin with and limited cooperation between nations based on geography or something else. As long as cooperation is needed, people will unite and forego individual autonomy to some degree. The embargo isn't any more imposing than an alliance color or application process. There are plenty of non-mechanical things you can introduce to increase individual playability as RP aspects keep people animated in other games. The government types have a lot of potential. Playing as an individual nation is suited to single player games or short runs, not collaborative browser games where people are reliant on each other.2 points

Is it possible we could make a couple of changes to the city profit labels for improvements? 1. Add profit labels to manufacturing. 2. Incorporate costs of pollution/disease rate from population lost (calculated with revenue buffs/commerce) 3. Add profit labels to subways and hospitals.1 point

Submarines don't do that; they're meant to engage other ships and/or carry long-range strategic ordinance. They sure as heck can't go up rivers lmao1 point

Now that Partisan is gone, I'm pretty sure you take the cake as the new OWF wall of text-er. Unless he returns and posts a flex wall. (not nudging or anything)1 point

Seriously, you guys just need to stop !@#$ footing around and make those moves. Being vague here just makes me want to drop the info I'm aware of so it hopefully speeds up the process. No one is aiming to hit anybody right now. There's no threat of war at the moment. Stop being scared. You guys have some of the largest, most prolific, alliances in the game and you're purposely trying to be all cautious about it for absolutely no reason. Many of us are looking forward to seeing the new changes in politics that the disbanding of IQ has in store.1 point

Of the alliances listed in their bloc, they absolutely have the best and most proven milcom... and BK should dang well know that; what with TKR the highest net damage of their side, even ahead of Grumps, and that's despite being firmly in IQ's range1 point
