  1. Afrikan Elephant Conservation The Korps were exploring the vast continent, sampling all the jollof along the way, when they came across a new civilization on the northern coast, Carthago. The Korps saw the many strange aspects of their culture and lifestyle, including their love of riding enormous elephants and using them as their cavalry, much as the Korps used Panzers. Sadly, the elephants were facing ever-increasing threats from hunters, barbarians, and pirates. So, seeing them as potentially useful to the Korps, they offered their help in setting up a conservation arrangement. Article 1 - Sovereignty The Korps shall not take any elephants for personal pets, even though they are cute AF. In exchange, no Carthaginian shall steal Panzers from military bases, even though they are the superior mode of transportation/warfare. Article 2 - Respect Friendly trade between both signatories will be arranged and can include German beer, various NSFW examples of holy PLOT, the best Mediterranean wine, silk and all the ceramic Etruscan Boar Vessels the Afrikans could desire. Article 3 - Mutual Defense Both signatories agree to protect not only the wildlife, but also the people of their great societies (but mostly the wildlife). Article 4 - Intelligence Any information about haters of lolis on Panzers or troubles brewing in the Alps in advance of a journey by the elephant war caravan shall be shared between both sides, as soon as reasonably possible. Article 5 - Non-Chaining Both signatories believe that elephants and Panzers need to be cage-free. In the event that either signatory is attacked as a result of their fulfillment of third-party obligations, Article 3 of this treaty is to be considered optional. Article 6 - Cancellation If the Korps get tired of shooting poachers with their machine guns or the Carthaginians think that the carbon emissions of the tanks are too harmful for their environment, either signatory must provide 72-hour notice in order to cancel this treaty. tl:dr; Elephants and tanks can coexist peacefully (AK & CTO sign a MDP) Signed for Afrika Korps: Big Tiny wehner Donny No wehner Skae Smoll Huge wehner Velium Perfect wehner Odin Everyone's wehner Deus Signed for Carthago: El Chach, Suffet Daveth, Elder Asierith, Elder Antonio, Elder Krampus, Elder

  2. Heyo, ORB here with a big recap over the last..almost month. Did we miss anything? Checkit Right Here - some good stuff, big moves - but has it been enough? Also while you're here.....new show coming in 2023, Kilo and a surprise new show...end of the month!

  5. I agree that some of the current perks need a rework. I would like to see more defensive focused perks, for example having tanks dug in for a percentage in defense. However the whole system has been in the game for 3-4 years and nothing has come from it. I hope it gets adapted and improved, then finally added into the playable game,

  8. Recognition of War So, I guess welcome back. That didn't take long. But you gotta admit, hitting Alpha seems pretty lame. We've been irrelevant for years, don't you know? On top of that, doesn't look so good when you can't handle your own business against an alliance who hasn't even existed for the better part of a year, and you have to call in extra help. Not mad or upset, just disappointed in you Oblivion. I thought you liked to fight or something? Anyway, we've noted your 11 nations on your AA and also will keep watch on those two 3000k infra whales that left after the war started. https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=24900 https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=63120 But it's fine, we expect them to say in that AA, and not use another AA's protection for any other purpose other than pixel hugging. This includes jumping back after bulking and declaring wars.

  13. TL;DR AT BOTTOM This sounds an awful lot like the military perks suggestion by Viselli. To help summarise why I dislike both ideas, let me quote the great god Sheepy: It seems like Alex is trying to make the game a little easier for these noobs. Adding a whole bunch of confusing mechanics is not going to help with this. That's why I think we should simplify ideas like these. Here's something I posted on the military perks suggestion thread a while back: Simple, intuitive blocs like this will help newbies find their way around and discover their playstyle. TL;DR: Too complicated for the noobs. Building off the built-in, non-functioning Perks system with simpler ideas and "skill trees" (maybe - on the fence about this one...) will be better for people who have just started up their nation.

  16. Expanding on Epi’s idea, how about an option to increase the number of alliances seen, like the 50 list in trades and all that. Maybe an option to see ALL treaties for all alliances in exsistence, only alliances with treaties, only alliances without treaties, and alliance score pickers by factos of 10k.

  18. The great Gods of Pantheon watched as the internal fires burned, Matthew frantically running about with a water pistol trying to put them out. “You know what we need?” said Matthew, now lacking eyebrows, “A war”. Rawr and Nomi both shrugged, decided fck it, might was well. They then went about figuring war out. As they were 90 percent stupid, 10 percent good at their respective jobs, 0 percent people who should be taking an alliance to war. The targets then made themselves known. Nova Riata led by the fearsome Pooball was in a pesky mood for revenge. For what we had no idea. Probably something lame. They had boosted their military… a lot fold. Their score had jumped up. Pooball had constantly reminded me that he would nuke me someday (plz no). “Sure, why not.” rawr decided. The Federation was led by… Kosta, cool dude I guess, and they too wanted revenge. Revenge for never getting invited to our League nights. They too went about not sneakily massing troops and score. If they were ninjas it would be the Naruto kind. “Screw it” went rawr. (Or maybe not, but I already wrote all these jokes so this paragraph stays >:^( It was then that I wondered why rawr was so nonchalant about these wars. She’s going to Endgame at turn change. Cri. TLDR: Figure it out for yourselves yeet. (Is it just me or is our flag a lil big. No matter.)

  19. Pretty much what Mayor said. ORB doesn't strive to be the best, we just strive to be...something. ? Also, as a side note - a friend of mine told me about doing the whole ad thing, there was a reason why I turned off PW payments to remove the pay wall. I personally use adblocker for sites and I hate when I get white listed, but this was supposed to be a a non-intrusive way to say 'hey' - I think we've made like $4. off the site since opening up - at this point, I really don't care if y'all adblock or not. (that whole adblock blocker cock block ad block is currently off the site, I didn't like it) A note about content. If y'all actually do shit there could be more content. If y'all actually wanted to conversate, talk, share.... we could actually have some pretty good shit. Most times when we go around asking for some details or stories to develop an article - y'all just dismiss or refuse to talk. Thats a problem. SO - you get what we can actually develop while staying true to what is publicly available. Those that come around after and say "this isn't what happened, those dates aren't accurate" well.....reach out, converse with us when we come around.

  24. Maybe we could also add a bloc option to show what nations are in certain bloc. Meaning alliances would be able to select treaties and set it as a bloc (with the other alliances accepting of course). Just a little thought.
    1 point
  25. Yeah, this seems reasonable to me. I think this is a solid idea!
    1 point
  26. This idea is effectively just a quality of life improvement. I think the idea of a Color Trade Bloc preventing your nation from being declared on is unintuitive. This proposal is simply to remove the color Beige from the game, and instead add a new separate mechanic for nations to simply be "Protected." It would work exactly the same as Beige (no one can declare war on you, you would lose it if you declared an offensive war, new nations would be marked as "Protected" for 14 days, nations losing a war would get time under "Protected" status.) Benefits to this change would be: More intuitive / easier learning curve for new players New nations can participate in Color Trade Blocs without losing protection Less newbies will accidentally open themselves up to raiding early on Protected status could come with it's own income bonus similar to the existing Color Trade Bloc bonus for Beige. Again, the idea isn't to actually change how the game is played at all, just simplify things and help newbies help themselves.

  27. Wow Dio this is what happens when you retire you stop paying attention to all the major players. He is the leader of THE Centre of Offbeat Powers. Just read their alliance page, "We fight for unity, strength, honor but in the end, we're all fighting for 2 things. The fact that we have power that doesn't quite fit anywhere else other than one were unified and the fact that we fight for the almighty bird known as The Pheonix" Now you might be thinking something like "Isn't that five things not two?" But counting is for chumps not major players which you would know if you weren't retired smh. Also before you say it, they incorrectly spelled the name of their avian deity The Phoenix on purpose to keep their enemies guessing. A genius major player move.. Silly silly man.

  29. Expanding on this idea: Calculation Color bonus = Income bonus = 1.5 x ((Players on Color / Total Players * 16)*Number of Treasures On Color)^.7 For a color with an average number of players: 1 treasure = 1.5% bonus, 2 treasures = 2.44%, 3 treasures = 3.24%, 4 treasures = 3.96%, 5 treasures = 4.63% If a color had 2x as many players as the average color, it would need twice as many treasures to get the same bonus. Similarly, a sphere with only half the average would only need 1 treasure to get the benefit of 2. Bidding 33 Total treasures, or an average of about 2 per color. A treasure lasts for 66 days and one expires every 2 days. Every treasure is associated with a resource, each resource has 3 treasures associated with it. 2 days before the treasure expires, bidding opens up. Any nation can contribute to the pool for their color. Bidding is done with the resource associated with that treasure. At the end of the period, the treasure is assigned to the color with the highest bid. All bids are non-refundable. The Benefits 1) Making it resource based would make it a resource sink. 2) Bidding offers opportunity for drama, last minute steals, individual players to screw up plans coordinated by broader agreements about bidding, etc. 3) There are diminishing returns to limit incentives for one color to run up the score. 4) The revolving nature of it makes it more continuously interesting. 5) There's some potentially interesting politics. Do all the alliances and colors work together to share with non-compete agreements? Do alliances on a color work together to raise funds and/ coerce alliances on the color to contribute to bids? When do they choose to bid? 6) The non-refundable nature of bids gives people more incentive to be strategic, and also to be mad if someone steals a treasure out from under them.

  32. HiHo. Biel here, this is some of what i said to Alex, excluding my DNI and the picture of myself because i don't know how the community will react (remember that i'm such an idiot/troll in-game, well i don't know how people will treat me after knowing how i am irl). So i come to you as a Diego, the guy behind the mask, behind Biel. I think everything is explained in the pictures, if you want to ask me anything, you can PM me in discord. As i've been telling BK, i really don't like to do a thing like this, literally begging for money, but this time it's an impasse to me. I want to apologize to all Orbis for this.

  34. At this time, I have still not heard from Biel. While based on IP history of Biel's account in-game, it does suggest to me that the story is true (and thus I've left this thread open so far) I just want to again reiterate that I am not condoning the original post as factual, nor can I confirm that the PayPal e-mail address given is actually Biel's PayPal account. Basically, you are donating at your own risk. I really have no way of knowing whether this is a big fraud or a real story, therefore you should take everything with a grain of salt. And again, I am not opposed to helping, and should I find more convincing evidence that the above story is true, I will be donating myself. However, I believe it is wise to advise caution at this point about sending money to strangers on the internet.

  35. I am just going to state now, for the record: I have not been notified of this, and I have not verified anything stated in the OP myself. I would caution everyone to be skeptical and wary of the situation before donating money as a matter of pragmatism and common sense. I am going to inquire further about this, as if this situation is true, I am open to allowing this type of post; however, in general we do not allow solicitation on the forum (or in-game, or on Discord.)

  36. This will be a bit of OOC, but I feel like the conversation has moved that way in this thread so it's effectively fine. I spent a fair amount of my time playing the villain role in PnW, whether you think I was good or bad at it personally, I've been given enough nods on the character I've played in this world and others to feel qualified on speaking on what it takes to play the villain. Insults? They're fine if there's substance to them. You need a narrative, a reason to be insulting this person/group. There needs to be more to what you're doing than showing off your trolling ability, or lack there off. It's about quality and not quantity. Knowing when to speak and when to hold your punches and wait for the chance to make that critical hit. Why throw 100 punches when you can get a better effect with 2-3 proper ones. You also have to have the well-being of the game in mind. Know that you're the villain, embrace it. People are going to hate you and you can't let that bother you. But you have to know your role is to eventually lose. The best examples I can give of it are TEst and TKR. TEst embraced it's "We're the enemy" role under me, we harassed people picked fights and played off of the two spheres for as long as we could until a large section of the game came together to smash us to pieces. At that point TEst split and formed some splinters. TKR was the villain after that happened, but didn't seem to realize it or want it. They did little with the villain role really. There were almost no major wars for a long period of time. Then, like TEst, a large portion of the game united to smash them. Had TKR embraced their villain role and flexed on people frequently it might have accelerated their downfall but it would have created more interesting events that we would still be talking about. I'm not saying TEst did things right and TKR didn't things wrong but more highlighting the differences in accepting your role and trying to go against it. I often hear people look back on TEst with some very exaggerated mindset, recently Thanos said something to the effect of "Don't think you're TEst suiciding into a bigger alliance", when TEst never really did that. When you embrace your villain role stories of what you did get exaggerated, there becomes this legend about what you were/did and people talk about the crazy things you did, even if they've been warped to events that didn't actually happen. I've started to ramble.. Anyway, what I'm saying is stories are made by the villain. You need a good one for a good story. Build your reputation, make some moves that cause people to talk about "hey remember that time that guy did that thing?". But if you're the boy who cried wolf, constantly trolling/insulting your words lose their potency. tl;dr Quality villainy over quantity of villainy.

  38. Nice strawman though. I don't think everyone else is retarded, I just think everyone acts retarded at times. The fact they don't point mine out more often isn't my problem. If they ask nicely I'll do it for them, my gov has already seen it many times. I spare no one, including me, but nice try again. Sidenote: it's amusing of you to say this Dio since you know first-hand I'm not much nicer to me than anyone else.

  39. The OWF would get real boring real quick if the only content people were posting were ‘nice’ things about one another. In fact, I would argue that doing this would be far more damaging to the community than Akuryo waltzing around talking out of their ass and acting self-important.
