  2. From the Office of the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth The Commonwealth and it predecessor alliances have prided itself upon a set of unwavering virtues which form the basis of our identity as an alliance and more importantly as a community. Such virtues of loyalty to allies, fairness in dealings, support for those in need and unwavering unity through the harshest of times are our guiding principles, and as such through this global war we've sought to apply these principles in our dealings with any party whilst balancing concerns from both our allies with those of our own. However unfortunately such respect and support we've always sought to provide our allies in coalition B was not reciprocated to us. Our concerns with the conduct of our allies were raised numerous times, whilst we hoped to resolve this current conflict with a satisfactory result for all parties. It was through a combination of disproportionate peace terms presented to our now defeated enemies, hostile acts against uninvolved friends and allies of The Commonwealth, a general sense of derision projected towards us from various parties within Coalition B and a seemingly blatant disregard for the wider community in general through the 'joy' the coalition took in unnecessarily prolonging this war into an obscene 7+ months, which resulted in our relationship with coalition B and more importantly the Black Knights becoming irreconcilable. The latest completely unprovoked attacks upon our allies in TCW Bloc; Weebunism, The Manhattan Cartel, North Point, and Ironfront resulting from a situation which despite the claims of those in coalition B was entirely avoidable if they'd actually had the decency to consult with us and help devise an amicable solution for all parties was not the first of such incidents. Coalition B has engaged in previous actions with perceived impunity against not just our allies but with unprovoked attacks upon neutral outsiders. It was only through negotiations and through the willingness of The Commonwealth for the sake of preserving the unity of the coalition during wartime that The Commonwealth begrudgingly accepted outcomes to achieve peace for our allies and to halt anymore aggression by Coalition B against them. However whilst our patience might be long, The Commonwealth will no longer stand idly by and allow Coalition B to undermine our Bloc and attack at will our friends and allies. Despite being outnumbered as the sole upper tier alliance in Coalition B, the thanks Coalition B provides to us for fighting and taking down the upper tiers of over half a dozen alliances was an array of transgressions which I feel are best summed up by the rather delightfully renamed general chat channel from coalition B's server: All of us in The Commonwealth are aware of the threat to our alliance in making this choice. However as a matter of principle we will not longer tolerate anymore acts of aggression against our alliance, our allies or our friends, regardless of the personal cost to ourselves. Due to the attacks by the Black Knights and New Pacific Order upon our Bloc we will be honouring the defensive call to arms our allies have made and entering under the Article IV Supremacy clause of our Bloc treaty. We will outline in depth at a later date the reasons behind our actions, but we will assure our allies we will stand with them whatever the cost. TL:DR: The Commonwealth declares war upon the Black Knights, The New Pacific Order and Camelot.

  3. Batavus has been ground down by months of war, and has a military disadvantage. He opts to fortify. Reaper raids. https://politicsandwar.com/nation/war/timeline/war=582769 ^ War in question ^Batavus military as of this post. ^reaper military as of this post. Sequence of attacks: - Batavus fortifies - Reaper uses a classic 1-ship tactic to raid and minimize his losses. - Moderation shuts down the war within a day of declaration despite attacks being made. - Batavus' previous war history shows he was recently looted for a decent amount of cash, providing incentive to raid, and incentive for batavus to try to preserve. ---------------------------------------------------- As per the rules: --- The nations in question are attacking us. Our nations can't fight back because they've been ground down and sat on for 3 months. The game rules do not cover a standard raiding scenario and specifically denote "declaring without intention of fighting is punishable by a nation strike". Reaper is raiding according to precedent and convention. ergo- there is no violation on going. That brings us to the body of this post. Why is moderation warning and deleting perfectly legitimate wars and providing strikes for standard usage of the war system? Why is this policy being applied arbitrarily while the exact same style of warfare has been employed by raiders for the past years, and while there are plenty of recent examples of similar timelines by alliances currently at war with tS who are not being striked as slot filling? More importantly: Why is moderation once again intervening in a war's progression without cause?

Though North Point's motivations remain an enigma, the $yndicate has no choice but to recognize that a state of war now exists between The $yndicate and North Point. 13. Mirror Accords Preamble The Knights Radiant and The Syndicate enter into this treaty of mutual defense. Article I: Defining Aggression The Knights Radiant and The Syndicate, referred to hereafter as the Signatories, come together as friends, and shall not undermine one another or infringe upon one another’s sovereignty. It is agreed to handle any other issues between them in private. Article II: Paranoia Both Signatories agree to share all relevant information of worth and to collude as suits their mutual goals. It is agreed that this information shall not be falsified, or changed in any way, to mislead the other Signatory. As per this article, neither TKR nor t$ can be at fault for any incident or occurrence. Should any leaks occur or misinformation be presented, the Signatories agree to coordinate the development of a set of wild conspiracy theories and present a scapegoat to the world at large. The Signatories are also encouraged to share technological and monetary assistance as well as spin with the other if requested. Article III: Mutual Entitlement Should either Signatory come under attack, they will be entitled to military and political support. This article shall only go into effect if the aggrieved Signatory properly displays their entitlement via a request for assistance through proper diplomatic channels. This entitlement shall be waived if the attack is borne from responses to a Signatory's obligation towards, or actions undertaken on behalf of a third party. Article IV: Bravery Clause Should any Signatory cease hostilities unilaterally and without the other Signatory’s consent after a multi-month war and structural mistreatment, the other Signatory will respect the sovereignty of their ally and thank them for their assistance. Article V: Stall It! Should either Signatory fear they will regret being allied to their counterpart 10 years from now, they may cancel the treaty at any time with proper notification of the other alliance. The cancellation will then be stalled for 72 hours, during which articles I, II and III remain in effect. The cancelled party shall be blamed for the delays. 15. This is an official communication from the Something Positive Group. Our friends in North Point were left scratching their heads after an attack by BK & Friends. It seems their pursuit of an immature player had not been taken well by the powers that be. BK & Friends, we’ll show you what real friends look like. We’re not going to sit idly by and watch our allies beaten to a pulp. Instead we're going to explain why North Point was in the wrong.. It's in our blood to act with Honour and uphold the integrity of the Something Positive Group. North Point coducted aggressive attacks on a member of BoC, an action which the Something Positive Group frowns upon. It is required by Runeterra Law for North Point to get the approval of all member nations of the Something Positive Group in order to conduct aggressive attacks against a nation. Demacia herby declares Neutrality in the ongoing North Point vs. the World conflict.

  16. The relevant rules are here: War Slot & Espionage Filling Declaring war on a nation without the intention of fighting them is punishable by a nation strike and additional punishment for multiple violations. You are not allowed to declare war on nations to prevent them from being attacked by other nations. This same rule applies with spies and espionage operations. Knowingly participating in having your war or spy slots filled is also considered a violation of this rule. Moderation discretion must be applied when interpreting and enforcing this rule. An example of behavior violating the rules would be declaring war on a nation and sending attacks with minimal units, or using 'Fortify', to appear to be fighting a war, when in reality the attacker has no intention to fight and win the war. North Point is currently attacking the enemy of their enemy (KERCHTOG$) in such a way as to deny their enemy (BKNPO / OD+TC) the ability to deploy attackers. According to Partisan's (Prefonteen's) interpretation of game rules, the second sentence is joined with the first sentence as an "and" conjunction, meaning that the first line of "attacking someone with the intention of fighting them" supersedes the second line. This legitimizes North Point's tactic, even if given previous moderation rulings, it seems as though these wars violate the second clause. I would like to have clarification on how the war declaration rules work. For instance, sticking to the first line only, it would be possible for me to have friends constantly nuke me or naval me, when my set-up means that I take very little cash damage, even when I'm beiged, due to my low infra. This could render me extremely difficult to declare on. For instances of "war slot filling" violations, I will list a few NP targets: https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=41349&display=war (Gladius, GoB bank at war with BKNPO) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=70736&display=war (Sanreizan bank at war with BKNPO, took last slot) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=41349&display=war (Imladris, used to be Valinor bank) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=6286&display=war (Valinor / CoS bank) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=13052&display=war (Guardian high gov) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=32050&display=war (TKR high-city fighter) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=44276&display=war (House Stark fighter) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=51491&display=war (TKR high-city fighter) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=9788&display=war (CoA high-city fighter) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=26598&display=war (CoS high-city fighter) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=9433&display=war (CoS high-city fighter) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=117704&display=war (T$ bank) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=24625&display=war (e$ bank) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=17961&display=war (T$ fighter) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=30061&display=war (T$ fighter) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=28546&display=war (T$ fighter) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=25539&display=war (T$ fighter) I can go on, but there's a huge number of incidents to report. Edit: I want to highlight this screenshot which shows NP's effective intent: This shows NP's actual intent. I.e, there's a plan to give members of KERCHTOG$ time to rebuild, and they intend to "keep up appearances". In other words, there is collaboration between NP and its targets in terms of targeting.

  18. It's certainly not easy to make determinations of war slot filling, and in the dozens of reports I got I only issued 2 strikes yesterday. It appears to me that there's a concerted effort to beige a group of players simply for their benefit. In doing so, the war slots are being filled with "nice" wars instead of "real" wars, which in my interpretation violates the War Slot Filling rule. I only issued strikes where it was clear that the defender was active, had the capability (some military advantage) to fight back, and was simply choosing not to (i.e. it's not a real war.) I was very particular about the strikes that I issued and did my due diligence. In the end, there will always be disputes about war slot filling and what does and does not qualify. There's no way to moderate it perfectly, and ultimately what the solution will be is the removal of beige entirely so that there's no incentive to "game" the system.

  20. Can you quote the corresponding passage to me? Because I just don't see it. Also, while you are at it, a list of quotes where they mock you prior to you backstabbing them would be lovely to have. An alliance that has problems with a partner of theirs, either discusses those problems or just drops them. There is an entire clause on the MDP treaties just for that. 72 hours and all. Rings a bell? I am really appalled at the stance you are keeping on this matter. Pretending it is ok to plot against an alliance with which you have an MDP just proves that you are the the one being intentionally obtuse.

  21. Hidellith is low gov and gave his statement already. I don't know how NPO works, but in NP low gov don't decide policy. At best they get to suggest policy to the high gov. In this case the policy was set by me, and the orders to raid any nation's from both sides were delivered to the high gov. I infact had to actually stop the milcom department from reacting as they're used to by sending counters, so please stop this pathetic attempt to suggest low gov sets or has the authority to define publicly or internally, NP policy. Also, continue being totally not mad that I'm attacking your opponents in your other war, while NPO itself recognizes it's conflict with NP at this time as separate, thereby making it impossible for me to be part of the coalition for a different anyway. Nice name too, Fash Bash Festival. I'm more a technocratic socialist personally. #notmadNPO

  22. Best High Gov member should've gone to @Shiho Nishizumi and @Partisan (Ameyuri in snek disguise). Surprised she wasn't even up there, considering her contributions. Everybody on our coalition side should know how much they both have contributed.

  23. I don't see how they are mocking you in the Mirror Accords. There is no NPO reference there. Could it be you feel guilty about something? Also, even if they do mock you right now, this proves absolutely nothing about the kind of allies they were, so I have no idea why you bring that up. If I was backstabbed by someone, I would also mock them. Unless that's the best proof you have about their "treachery", that is, so I understand. You do need some sort of defence line. Still, the argument "I backstabbed my ally because they would mock me (as they did) after backstabbing them", doesn't make much sense in any context.

  24. Archiving this as well (although I'm told the mods can view different versions of a post). This implies that NP received orders from somewhere in the NP hierarchy to beige effective allies. But this, of course, requires rules clarification and a ruling on whether the actions involved are permissible. At the time of posting: The hierarchy above Hidelith is Anneal, Fairymoon, and Akuryo. Stated (but not necessarily actual) NP hierarchy: Hidelith is lower milcom, hence the only people above him would be Anneal and Akuryo.

  31. @Alex This war is war slot filling because you are attacking a probable ally with minimal unit naval attacks doing as little damage as possible and with no resistance from an active defender with a superior ground force. >It was his decision not to strike >there was no coordination between me and Bartman >striking me over a probability to boot? Lulz >Sorry but I'm not wasting resources blowing up 600 infra in a raid war with what was 70 ships at the time Congratulations, I am one strike away from getting banned because again, you lack the motivation and observation skills to determine what war slot filling actually is and I am, quite frankly, exhausted about this. I am sorry if Coalition B is bored and running out of slots to fill, but those that were open are fair game and it's pretty whacked I get admonished because I didn't choose to speed-beige some dude who had no ships nor valuable infra with a needless amount of munitions and gas. Which, you know, I kinda need since I am more than likely gonna be pinned for months by mindless pinko drones and sore winners (with obvious OOC motives) waving their e-peens in everyone's face. It's not fair, it's a lousy assumption at best then I get told strikes are easily avoidable, but it's as avoidable as a landmine in No Man's Land because I don't know how nor when will it be triggered. I staffed at communities numbering in the thousands too and I think it is kiiinda important to consider more circumstances than what you just displayed. Since you double downed on my last strike when I tried to appeal it, I now know I shouldn't even bother trying to appeal this one and accept the fact I am just not allowed to transfer treasures and conserve resources like some people can (like known people under a lot more scrutiny than some rando like me). Then again, that is probably because I didn't grovel enough or donate enough shekels to somebody who played favorites and instigated between people in the past. Which I think is abhorrent, but that's aside the point. You can ask anybody who knows me well that if I of all people, am this publicly heated about your inane management, you're doing something wrong. I try to be courteous and thoughtful of others when playing this game, but I see that still doesn't mean a goddamn thing. Pfft, how ironic now. -removed- So seriously, screw you, dude.

  32. To live in the hearts of others is never to die. Tonight is a somber occasion, as we mourn the passing of a great member of the $yndicate community, and the Orbis community at large. It has been brought to our attention that our friend and brother, Digitizer, has fallen ill to Pneumonia. After being hospitalized a few days ago, he passed away on the 29th of October, at the young age of 24. Digitizer joined us on July 13th, and immediately became an active part of our community. His continued effort in safeguarding our community from raids was a testimony to his loyalty and consideration for his brethren. His bright personality and quick wit were always a joy to be around. Digitizer was always great to be around, and his presence will be sorely missed. Seeing a young man with his life ahead of him die at such a young age is always tragic. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Digitizer's friends and family. May they take solace in the knowledge that Digitizer will live on in the memories of the people who's life he touched. As a final salute to our comrade, The $yndicate will sport the Irish flag - the flag of Digitizer's homecountry - for the month of November. We greatly appreciate anyone who wishes to join us in honoring Digitizer. Rest in Peace, Digitizer, and may you move on to a better life beyond this one.

  38. The problem with any "let's enable slot filling" doctrine is this: Group A slot fills Group B. Group B slot fills Group C. Group C slot fills group A. In other words, it becomes completely impossible to engage anyone in this triangle and it just shuts down warfare. Other issue is that Arrgh usually doesn't slot fill; i.e, it's obvious that they're targeting raidables, not hitting husks with no raiding value.
