  1. A few weeks ago, in a surprising turn of events, a well known executive of the Multinational Corporation and humanitarian institution 'The $yndicate inc' announced his retirement. Partisan, known for his sneky shenanigans, predisposition for theatrics, and his ingenuity in navigating the business world, was a driving force of the $yndicate's Strategic Planning. His contributions too many to list, we at The $yndicate Corporation give our thanks to him for his service. In his place Hilmes will be taking the wheel as the Executive of Strategic Planning. I have large...socks to fill but I'll do my best to see a continued rise in The Syndicate's (NASDAQ:T$) value in the markets <3. Finally, in the corporate world there are times when business partners recognize that their joint venture has reached the end of it's viable life cycle, and that it is time to diversify their product lines. As of 12/23/2018 The Syndicate was no longer the parent company of long time subsidiary Afrika Korps. We wish them the best whenever their path leads them. /$/igned for the $yndicate: Chief Operations Officer (IA): Leopold von Habsburg Chief Financial & Security Officer (Econ & MilCom): Timmy Strategic Planning (FA): Hilmes

  2. TFW when you have a party at your house and invite a bunch of your friends over but someone steals your TV so you go to your friendly and dependable friend and accuse them and cut them from your life and sucker punch them in the face while that greasy ass snake mofo who is lazy and poor and is always asking you for money is standing there with a shiteating grin that says "I did it and I got away with it". Only after visiting your snake friends house and noticing a TV that looks suspiciously like yours do you realise the gravity of your mistake so you go back to your old friend and grovel asking for forgiveness and because hes a champ he agrees but things are the never the same again. The moral of the story here is stupid people don't deserve friends.

  3. It has come to my attention, that we here at Bad Company, never officially apologized to Kevanovia, for mistakenly believing the lies Cynic had spread about him, and we ended up believing, simply because we were duped. I had told Kev an apology would be included in the Peace Agreement, in one of the comments, and I forgot. Kev.......myself and the rest of BC Gov is very sorry for how things played out, and for believing the lies and shenanigans that where told to us, but the scumbag Cynic. DemonSpawn COO of Bad Company

  8. Welcome back to OrbisMojo, today we will be discussing the top ten reasons why NationRP is for degenerates. 10. It doesn't affect the game what so ever making it useless 9. It's boring, like who cares about your nation running out of milk 8. Shifty doesnt like it, shifty has to approve 7. Alex likes it, that's just bad 6. RPers are losers ingame They never post in orbis central or alliance affairs because they are cowards 5. Only libtards use NationRP 4. There is an actual game called NationStates that is only RP. PnW is an actual game, play one or the other. 3. DISCORD, we have that too it contains RP that actually effects the game 2. no one but themselves care about what they have to say It's all "good work, now go look at my RP and upvote or else you're a hater and we need to change the mod rules again" 1. they spend too much time on it

  16. Further to the point it's just plain bad decision-making to protect an alliance that can't offer anything in return. I get the impression that a lot of treaties get signed without having a functional purpose in mind and it's just the FA head or the alliance leader wanting to propogate the idea that they're working hard doing FA things. As a general rule I think protectorate treaties are often deeply misunderstood. At their most basic a protectorate treaty is just a one-sided defense agreement, yet so many players simply look at the number of green lines on the treary web as a representation of "power projection" or "proactive FA", when in fact they're black holes that suck resources away from the protector and typically return nothing of value. Barring any exceptional arrangements like payment, vassilization or the like, the protector gets no immediate benefit, economic or military, from protecting an alliance. Because of this, there's usually some understanding (often likely never elaborated at the outset of the agreement) that the protectorate will reciprocate the favour at a later date once they become stronger. For players thinking in 2015-16 terms, this might seem smart, as BK and TKR started out as t$ protectorates and went on to help prop up a bona fide Syndicate-led hegemony for years. But more recently we've seen alliances such as the original TEst splinters, Dark Brotherhood, Bad Company, and doubtless many others I'm forgetting all split with their protectors and return nothing of value to them. The historical record should be evidence enough for the great powers of Orbis to question the validity of the assumption that protecting a new alliance will make them loyal to you. So my overall point is that if the protector isn't extracting any explicit commitments from the protectorate to provide something of value, like a future mutual defense agreement or short-term payment, then the FA team of the protector is doing their own members a disservice. After all, if someone decides to raid the pro then its the members who are responsible for actually carrying out the protecting, not necessarily the FA guys who want to look busy.

  19. @The Mad Titan This is only a suspicion, but part of the point of dragging out these war negotiations is to make sure everyone knows that declaring war on TKR-sphere is a pain in the ass; even if you win, you will be stuck fighting an Arrgh-type or VietTKR war for months after substantial combat operations are over, all while taking nukes. The problem is how well a coalition employing this strategy can hold out. At first, the members who leave will be garbage, EMC-type members. Next you get vacillators who fought it out for a while, but then decided they were bored of the game and weren't really contributing much anyways. But where this starts to hurt is when quality members begin to leave. I am basically a "pixels mean nothing" type of guy, but the third imposes substantial losses since the lifeblood of an alliance is its members and organization. Bleeding out bad blood isn't a problem, but when you start losing healthy members, you have a more serious problem than any of the damage SynDIQ has inflicted on a statistical basis. I think TKR-sphere has already bled off their EMCers, and is either bleeding vacillators or quality members right now, depending on who you ask. What's worse is the post-war losses, i.e, there will be some members who decide not to rebuild and decide to quit instead. I think TKR-sphere can hold out at least to breaking the DDR / "69" days war record, maybe to 3 months or more. But they are better off ending this before they reach the breaking point. I like TKR-sphere, I obviously don't want to see them get rerolled, but excess qualitative bleed isn't good either. @Apeman There was an ex-TCW nation that, I believe, deleted, but the gentleman or lady involved left TCW for TFP. That's sort of an individual surrender, but the nation was promptly attacked by SyndIQ assets after joining TFP. Re: Prefontaine: Angry screaming about how you're losing, my balls are bigger than yours, and that you should kneel down and obey isn't conducive to good peace negotiations. And to insightful people, it just makes the party doing so look bad, i.e, a party roused to anger is often impotent. The Mad Titan, at least, is talking about the real damage that TKR-sphere is taking, and is focusing on that. But then again, what I'm told is that Prefontaine isn't formally part of these negotiations.

  21. Sure, we did walk off for three weeks but that's already been discussed on here. That was an intentional walk off because we weren't done fighting, you all said you weren't done fighting, and we weren't happy with the terms, the progress of the discussions, or any of you really. Trying to paint us as flaky since returning is ridiculous. We talked and scheduled a time on a Sunday and arrived on that. No one walked away for a week after that. Your side asked about the next Sunday for a time, which we weren't sure we could make because of the holidays and so proposed the running talks instead, which you all agreed to. I was going to try and sit down to get something up and post sometime on Sunday but when I hadn't managed to find the time to do so by update, you decided that meant I was skipping a meeting. I didn't even think there was one because we'd swapped those for running talks. And then your side decided we should just wait until after the holidays, which is fine because who wants to deal with PnW instead of spending time with their families at Christmas? Definitely not me. But we're there and we're trying to work on things with you guys. You're free to continue reading into our actions and completely misunderstanding us. Or you can actually talk to us and ask what's up. My DMs are always open, Leo.

This year we are performing 'Christmas (Felkey Please Come Home)' in honor of our good friends in TCW, all of whom haven't quite made it home for the holidays. Felkey has bravely fought his way back from Vacation Mode, but he still hasn't quite made it back to activity. Send your thoughts and prayers everyone, and maybe he'll make it back to TCW for Christmas! Lyrics

  29. Recently a deliberation had been convened in private. Many advisors, military personnel, and respectable individuals hand-picked from the populace in support for a Free Scotland had been called to this meeting. It was well known that Monarchial Governments were on the way out for Democracy in the new world, primarily, and sometimes Monarchies were even seen as immoral and questionable, as if Democracies were perfect. Many topics were held and many opinions made and heard; With the British Internationale being the formal government over occupied Scotland for several hundred years, many had become accustomed to Socialism and Communism. Many feared and hated Democracy for the original United Kingdom, seeing it as submission to another power and making them weak. It was very early in Scotlands attempted freedom, but it also knew it would eventually have to come up to speed with the rest of the world, and find its bearings as it developed independently. There was a need for a proper, formal government for (if and when) Scotland became liberated. The Queen not only agreed, encouragingly, but supported a meeting to discuss Scotlands, and her peoples, future. It had been decided to have something similar to an old Gaelic tradition, but a more modern form, with parts from other governments. For the time being, this was to be Scotlands government, all the way through regaining Scotland. After its liberation, time could only tell how it would develop. The Queen would address her people and bring them the news, bringing everyone into the fold. Other nations would also be alerted to the situation and ceremony as the Kingdom of Scotland would be changing governments, hopefully for the better. "To the people of Scotland, and other nations of the world. It has taken generations to come to this point, but it seems we are finally being recognized and respected as independent in the world. With the guarantee from the Allied States, the support from the United States of Northern Europe, the warm welcome from Mog Corp, and finally, the freedom of travel to our home - Scotland - by the British Internationale, it was decided we not only try to put effort towards gaining respect from these countries, but try to evolve the Scottish lives of our people, for the future, and prove we wre not senseless barbarians, but prideful, strong-hearted, and just as smart as any attempter! On this day, it has been decided that we will resign the government of an Absolute Monarchy, for a more peoples Monarchy. From this day forward, the Royal Family will no longer take the thrown by divine right, but only by the peoples choice. We will make great strides to restore the Church of Scotland to its former glory, and gain their respect and support. The Head of the Royal Family will be able to grant Nobility Titles to any Scottish Citizen they deem fit, and these Noble Families will be able to take the throne, so long as the People of Scotland choose them. The Throne should no longer be seen as a frightening possibility of cruelty and force. The Throne is here to be for the people, to make sure laws get passed, proper rules are put into place, and ensure the safety of the people with absolute military control. I, Queen Sorcha Catach, will sign the new Constitution, requiring the Ruler of Scotland, Absolute Rulership, but no power over the form of Government, nor permission to change any law that relates to the Government, guaranteeing this can not be changed in the future by any single Ruler, but can be changed by the people of Scotland, should they wish it. Please, we beg each and every one of our people, and the people of other nations, to speak up and give us your thoughts, as Scotland enters a new era of Freedom!"

  31. Can confirm, @Mikey is a cruel tyrant who desires nothing more than to crush EMC beneath the iron fist of cinnamon toast crunch. I mean, it's almost like arbitrary war stats have very little to do with any aims or goals alliances might have when choosing what to propose as peace terms. Who would've guessed?

  32. Adding onto what Scarf said. Is there anything the community could do to help? Im sure there are people who would be willing to. If it's just a matter of this being a busy time of year could you just reopen the stats as they were until you have the time to work on it? What was there before was great and some stats are better than none.

  34. You're kidding right? You're not TGH. If anyone called TGH pixel huggers, literally everyone and their friends dog would call them an idiot. TGH has been at war most of its existence, and in fights that were actually at risk, or guaranteed to lose. You've done... what exactly? Participate in a dogpile? And weren't even one of the alliances to volunteer getting its teeth punched out at that. That makes you about as non pixel-huggery as UPN, and last i checked they have guys my size with over 3k infra. No it's not, you currently have two protectors. The proper way to do this is to get the new treaty confirmed, and have already established prior with t$ your intents to separate, and break from t$ exactly as you tie to BK. Boom, easy. You're not a micro. You want to see a micro? Click my nation link and i'll show you a micro. You apparently think yourselves big enough to protect another alliance, and as a wise man once said, if you're strong enough to protect someone else, you don't need to be protected. So that infact, still makes you cowards anyway even after t$ is gone! Gets some M-level treaties, you're on the verge of top 30, and a high mid-high tier AA. Plus, i have a pretty good idea of your econ works, so i KNOW without a goddamn doubt you can bring that to averaging as an upper tier alliance in another 4 months. In that sense, however, i will praise you for moving towards IQ, and BK for (hopefully) having the foresight to see what i just pointed out. IQ needs an upper tier on its side, afterall. However, i react negatively overall because i think you guys have a tendency to believe you fit into trousers far too big for your little legs, and that summarily you squander potential for lack of this self awareness. I don't like wasted potential, it bothers the pragmatist me. Especially when it acts like it's being put to good use. Do better, the pieces are all there for it, i'll stop reacting negatively when you start putting the pieces together.

  35. TGH launched on February, without allies or protectors, and joined a global war where both sides were fairly even roughly three weeks after. Then we signed KT and both of us fought off TKR and friends, month and a half after said global ( and in spite of obvious disadvantages for us), for two months and some extra days in change. Empi and Obv came afterwards. AK launched on June, and so far, unless I'm missing something, all it has done is join a global which is heavily on their favor four months after their inception, declare war on pirates, and when they found themselves in mildly hot water, ran off to another AA to protect them (likely annoying their original protectors in the process). Your counter argument falls flat because you failed to acknowledge (either due to ignorance or indifference) the track record of both alliances, and their actions in easy and (relatively or otherwise) hard times. You failing to read up on some basic FA story is why people end up downvoting your posts. It isn't because of a circlejerk; it is simply because you're speaking out of your ass and posing as if you were knowledgeable enough to provide any meaningful insight on the subjects you're trying to opine on. Thank you for basically confirming what I said on my 3rd paragraph.

  36. No, you're not. AK is relying on other's protections just to exist. You're not strong at all. You're pretty much Vanguard tier at this moment.

  37. A misclick is usually fixable on trading just simply deleting right after after it's posted. With the bot, they don't have that option and it's constantly retrieving the information. Point of the matter is, we don't like it and we're rectifying it. You're free to continue posturing against IQ but I don't care. Your analogy is trash as leaving your bike unattended doesn't excuse the theft. Feel free to make the thieves into the good guys. It's totally not transparent.

  38. Guess they can go to war to get the bot to be allowed again. Or stay in perma war to keep it going. The choice is theirs. There are no bandwagon terms, unless you count SK's term of requiring GOB to post something about cereal. Not that SK was really a bandwagon. Anyway, you'd think to really get any sort of reps an alliance would have to be a major part in the war. If UPN showed up demanding they get money, with how they performed they'd get laughed at. They probably would've gotten laughed at even if they performed well (pro-tip Under never performs). Now if an oppertunist alliance tries to jump on them as the war is wrapped up that's another matter, and they'd probably be effed shortly after the main forces pulled out (heh). And as Shiho said, no one's asking for money.
    1 point
  39. No one is going after them. They have the option to sell their infra, as you can see in the terms. If their alliance loves them so much, they can just rebuild them with their own funds. Sell down to 1k and then just rebuild. That easy. I see no reason (from an IC point of view) to let nations again and again VM and then get "punished" by their alliances by getting taxed. These taxes are used to rebuild faster the alliances that were hit. Believe it or not, some alliances want to cause as much damage as possible to the opposing side and having VMers coming back post-war to rebuild the rest is not really appreciated. Also... these nations are not punished. They get exactly the same treatment as their team-mates. The non-VMed TCW nations are at 1k infra level. The VMers will get to that level too. "Punishment" would imply that they get special treatment and worse terms than their team-mates, which is not the case.

  40. Knowing that certain terms put a bad taste in your opponent's mouth, them not being necessary to achieving IC goals, and proposing them regardless while in a position of power due to the way the war has turned out (and not due to general superlative command of military or economy) is a good way to set a precedent you really don't want to be setting. A position of power granted due to winning a war isn't so tenable, anyway. Just something to consider.
    1 point
  41. Guess it's been awhile since some of the people proposing these terms have won a war. They better hope they don't lose one again any time soon. At one point we had some friends on the other side of this one, but that is clearly no longer the case.

  43. tl;dr: CoS declares war on Guardian Mandatory non-chaining Destruction and Optional Annihilation Pact Article I: Sovereignty The signatories of this treaty promise to infringe on the sovereignty of each other, and agree to mutually disrespect the right to conduct one’s internal affairs without external interference. Article II: Intelligence The signatories of this treaty agree that they are very intelligent. Article III: Mandatory Destruction Both parties are obligated to bring it on... Article IV: Optional Annihilation … till there is nothing left of the opponent. That’s optional though. A tank or two can be left standing. Article V: Non-Chaining Both parties agree to not have exclusive rights on the destruction of each other. Article VI: Cancellation Raising a white flag will do it. Signatures: For CoS: Ripper For Guardian: Ripper -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leaving jokes aside, I would like to take this chance to make some political statements: CoS was and remains truly paperless. This does not mean it remains neutral at all times. The alliance had the chance to join either side of the war (an offer was available from EMC) and the choices made were based on values of the alliance and wishes of its members. Although there are many parameters to take under consideration, if only one reason was required to understand the choice of CoS for this war, that would be the challenge offered and the behaviour of certain alliances; as of today: out of the almost 80 nations with more than 26-30 cities, EMC has 40 of them at its side, with the true paperless (CoS / TEst) having 14 of them, and the rest of 25 being distributed in all other alliances. out of the almost 30 nations with more than 30 cities, EMC has 25 of them (!), with the truly paperless (CoS / TEst) having 4 of them. We do respect the fact that some people may enjoy playing it safe, just signing everyone in their range and militarizing out of range. We do understand this may make them feel that that is how the game is supposed to be “won” or that taking it easy is the definition of fun. However, CoS would have no fun in joining a side with such a mentality. And would certainly not lose a chance to try and prove that there is no safe place to hide. Except for VM and deletion of course. Regarding our “ultimate goal”, we have a vision of a more fragmented Orbis, with more frequent, low-scale wars, and less paper strangling the game. Ironically, the side we had to pick has not followed tactics that move towards that vision (maybe the opposite is the case). However, removing the illusion of a “safe place to hide” is of greater priority for us, since we believe that this move can be a game-changer, in the sense of affecting the mentality of the corresponding players. Finally, to the parties from EMC that I was in touch with, I personally apologise for using ambiguity and playing with words to keep you in the dark. However, I hope you understand that telling you that I was already planning to go to war against your side was kinda difficult... I presume you would have done something similar, if you were in my shoes. Although I technically did not lie (you can recheck the logs), I will have to live with the guilt of not being straightforward with you. We hope all parties have fun and enjoy playing the game.
