I'm a big fan of this, great idea @Bartholomew Roberts! I've actually been a supporter of charity: water for a few years, and just last week I actually finished reading CEO Scott Harrison's book, Thirst (which I would highly recommend, it was a great read.) I'm a Spring member, which means I'm already donating monthly to charity: water, but I also pitched in $30 for your campaign, too. That's enough money to bring someone clean water, and I wanted to show solidarity with you in your efforts. Keep up the good work! I'm not going to read the whole thread, so I just want to say that out-damaging my opponents is fun. I also don't really care if it gets us better terms or not because it's not a means to an end, I'm enjoying this much more than peace time.

Politics and War Holiday Happiness: Charity in the Nuclear Winter Hello all. I'm 5 days late on this post but oh well. As a global war rages on and countless civilians and military personnel are experiencing untold suffering on Orbis in roleplay, let's take a minute to remember that suffering exists in the real world as well. The holidays can be a time when people are tight on cash, but it's also a time for giving. A time when people look to give happiness and hope to others. Typically every year around the beginning of December I like to attempt to organize some sort of fundraising drive so that our small community here can make some positive impact on the world. As it turns out, it's slightly harder than you'd expect to find a reputable charity with an accessible website that you can utilize to do a group fundraiser that would appeal to the widest possible audience. There is no minimum or maximum donation limit, but I set our goal for $5000 just in case we're really feeling spirited. I don't think there's a bug with the gather intel operation - there may be a bug with ground battles letting you steal more loot than exists? I'd be really surprised to find out there's a bug like that, but I suppose it's not impossible. But they do only have $100K on hand at the moment. They are producing enough money per day to where it may be feasible that you are just stealing what they're producing. I'll dig into the code to see if I can find any obvious bugs, but it more or less appears to be on the up-and-up.

I've been told by quite a few people that PnW isn't the best place to raise money, but that's not the point. This is a rare chance for our community, that shares these forums and this game, to come together for a common good. The amount we raise isn't the point. It's the occasional opportunity to set aside IC differences, or even OOC disagreements, and make some sort of difference. Whatever we donate here will go to a positive end, hopefully the goodwill generated by this gesture will matter as well.

No one is going after them. They have the option to sell their infra, as you can see in the terms. If their alliance loves them so much, they can just rebuild them with their own funds. Sell down to 1k and then just rebuild. That easy. I see no reason (from an IC point of view) to let nations again and again VM and then get "punished" by their alliances by getting taxed. These taxes are used to rebuild faster the alliances that were hit. Believe it or not, some alliances want to cause as much damage as possible to the opposing side and having VMers coming back post-war to rebuild the rest is not really appreciated. Also... these nations are not punished. They get exactly the same treatment as their team-mates. The non-VMed TCW nations are at 1k infra level. The VMers will get to that level too. "Punishment" would imply that they get special treatment and worse terms than their team-mates, which is not the case.

From what I was told, there won't be bans or warns for country shapes like the one in the report unless if they're excessively detailed and/or vulgar. Objects depicting symbols like the swastika will be moderated though. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask myself or Alex.

I know right?! I keep my calculator up just to be sure whenever there's doubt, but this'd make everything so much easier. The "max money lootable" should also update when you change the number of tanks/soldiers you're applying to the battle as well. Related to that, the maximum airstrike damage changes if you apply fewer aircraft, so that ought to update as well.

Yes, the issue was people started just doing naval battles and airstrikes to perpetuate the wars beyond sanity and never actually "winning", in order to avoid ever allowing the opponent to surrender. Which was extremely imbalanced.
