this isn't as bad a DoW as people are making it out to be, pretty straight to the point.

I'm a bit surprised to see TEst being attacked as well, I was only expecting you to hit tS and those allied to them

When the leaks happened, you, Saru and I had a private conversation about the matter. You grieved about the manner in which the $yndicate plays politics. It is amusing to see your willingness to devolve into the very style of politics which you find so reprehensible, when given the opportunity to do so. We are much alike, after all. That is not necessarily a slight, but it is an observation that will alter the manner in which I will approach you in future interactions.

One small factual correction must be made:

Paragon as an entity was your rival. This was a rational assessment made by Paragon top government as a whole, following our formation, and was primarily based on the natural rivalry that was likely to develop between our blocs by virtue of us being the only powerclusters left. VE and Rose were both equally on board with the prospect of fighting the Covenant, as tS was. Ole is in posession of logs that prove this claim. The prime gripe of VE with a war on UPN was the order in which to move, and the methods to be used. Specifically:

- tS wished to work with Arrgh and TEst, as outlined in the leaked plans

- VE wished to target TEst either alongside UPN, or prior to targeting UPN (making it two successive wars).

This too, was readily apparent in the logs which your own government (Ole) has seen. You made a conscious decision to turn us into a long-term rival following the leaks, and to ally the entente despite its equal willingness to attack you. Attempts at normalizing relations were made on tS' part, but fell in vain. We are your rival by virtue of existing at this point. We are at peace with that, and it is good to know where we stand.

It is too late for reconciliation now. I will be happy to revisit these topics once all is said and done. Perhaps we can find common ground one day. Perhaps not. Time will tell.

I'll be honest with you because I still have a soft spot for TS.

The difference, Partisan, is one of honesty, forthrightness, and motive. We made our previous positions known to UPN and others, and exactly the reasons why those positions existed, and moved forward from there. You, on the other hand, continued to have the manipulation skills of a house plant. People know what you and yours are doing at all times, no matter how many smiles you make to their face, and they have for months and months. All the way through your lucky last war, people were watching your moves and shaking their heads as you set yourselves up for this. You are, and always have been, more obvious then you will ever actually realize. Particularly when you query people and try to plant this idea or that. In all honesty and completely without exaggeration I can tell you that people from all over the game share the logs of your query attempts in back rooms and say things like "does he seriously think this will work?". It doesn't gain you anything, and for the life of me I will never understand why you continue to do it.

Learn from this, I implore you. This is TS's opportunity to turn over a new leaf and rescue their reputation. Stop masking your ambitions because everyone has seen through it for a while now, don't make up excuses for what you want and why you want it, and stop with the attempts at manipulation. TS will be a better alliance for it in the long run.

Good luck in the war.

Given that tS is less then half the size of UPN with less then about a third of the members, I'm not sure how tS was a clear and present threat to UPN.

Edit:  Checked some stats, UPN has more score then SK, TeST, and tS combined.

This is TS's opportunity to turn over a new leaf and rescue their reputation.

Not to seem arrogant, but rescue our reputation from what? From my own anecdotal evidence most people seem to like t$. Few, if any, seem to hate us and it seems like many people like us a fair amount. I know that our alliances have gone through a rough patch in our relationship these last few months, but it seems like VE is harboring most of the ill-will towards the syndicate.

You may want to check your war screen.

Impero -- do you seriously think the VE is well-liked compared to tS?

It's telling that quite a few alliances in this game rolled you guys on a whim a few months ago. Even your allies didn't care at the time. Afterwards, you choose to ride the coattails of the new #1 with a MDP, begging for the scraps that you once held. It's rather sad, really.

I wish you guys were a better alliance, I really do, but you're just not. VE is nothing more than an over-inflated (both in score & ego) home for the inactives of this game.

I'll help Impero out with his reply here:

That's hilarious, and so are the days of our....erm, that's life. What's more- that a few Mensa members rather conveniently forget they're not too well liked here on Orbis either. The game became a Celebrity Apprentice-style popularity contest when exactly?

Time changes everything consistently, and the political scene changes just as frequently. As for getting rolled, shit man it's far more surprising anyone still uses that as a claim to fame. We've moved on and are focusing far more on the present and future. You should consider it too.

We worked hard for that "ego" you speak of too Syrup, putting the time, effort and ambition into turning VE into a pivotal player on the world stage within a mere two months after transitioning here. As for inactives, they're routinely kicked from the alliance. The jealousy of your closing sentence is telling as well!

You'd be wrong. All 4 alliances, EoS included, were top 10.

We aren't talking about top 10, we're talking about top 5.

Did I claim that MENSA was well liked? No. Frankly, we have no strong desire to be well-liked. If we were to be well-liked by the likes of VE or BoC, frankly we would be doing something drastically wrong.

The only reason I brought up the fact that VE is generally disliked is due to your massive ego combined with Impero's claim that tS wouldn't be getting rolled if they were more likable is laughable considering you guys were rolled a month or two ago for that exact same reason.

As far as "inactives are routinely kicked from the alliance", alright then, kick them:
