I don't know who we are fighting or why, or what our declaration is about, but I do know this will cost me money which makes me angry.

What time do nations have? All it takes is one minute and a nation is crippled, with no hope of victory without outside intervention. So again, this game does not allow for the "fair fights" you are referring to. Whoever blitzes, wins.

I mean let's be real, there's only so much even a prepared nation can do. In this game if you can run any kind of coordinated blitz, then you've won the war. You guys ran a coordinated blitz, and won the war. The game does not allow for these "fair fights" you're referring to.

This is a nice change to make infra more important, but it doesnt not accomplish your stated goal. Your goal is to deflate prices, but you do little to address that. Can't just slightly reduce supply, the real issue is that there is no DEMAND for these resources. This change just means that there are slightly less things that people don't want to buy. If you want to achieve your goal, then make planes 5x aluminum per. Make nuclear plants use 5x the uranium. Make soldiers use 5x the food. Make tanks, planes, and ships cost gas/munitions to upkeep. Increase the demand, increase the price.

Happy Holidays! The Viridian Entente would like to wish everyone a happy holiday. Hopefully you're fortunate enough to be able to spend the upcoming days with those close to you, and regardless of your nationality or religious beliefs, I hope everyone is able to have a fun and enjoyable weekend. On December 8th, 2014, a few Viridians decided that as we entered this new world, we wanted to do it under the banner of the Viridian Entente, and to not allow the community that makes us so great to disperse among the various alliances of Orbis. That isn't accurate. SK did not pay reps, we simply asked them to reduce their spy/missile counts so they couldn't use them against us in peace. Mensa was given reps, Guardian I believe ended up with similar reps, and SK was let off afterward without reps. And the amounts and percentages are nowhere near in line.

Seriously. Just because he actually fleshes out how he feels doesn't make SRD a shitposter, even though I think he says a lot of dumb things. Shitposting seems to just be the accepted level of discourse on the forums, people just can't see it in themselves.

As someone who was active on staff for the better part of 10 years on ZiRC/synIRC, I can attest to synIRC's stability if people are looking for a new network.

See, I actually agree with the OP. You never know how "trustable" someone is, until you give them the chance to show themselves to be untrustable. Down the road, we might be seeing billions of cash in banks, and resources in the high hundreds of thousands. If someone wanted to just go rogue, they could simply just loot the whole shebang and finance their attacks for months (years?) to come. Having a level of security is a smart idea.

Several days ago, our newest ally, UPN, and their blocmates decided to take a bite out of their rivals. They clearly find themselves with quite a mouthful, but they seem to be holding up well, considering the sheer numbers they face. We wish them the best, and they know they have our support. On the eve of us signing the treaty, they told us their plans to start this war right around the same time we would be announcing the pact. We told them that being a part of an aggressive war was not what we were interested in doing at this time. To UPN's great credit, they understood our position, and we went ahead with the treaty, knowing the hardships that were to come and the strain that our paths would place on it. While we were not going to take part in an aggressive war, there is an alliance who was not attacked by UPN, or had its allies attacked by them, who chose this as an opportunity for some plunder at their expense. We can not, in good conscience, sit back and allow someone to raid our allies, during this period of great conflict. It is with that in mind that we honor the mandatory defense clause of our treaty, and declare war on Arrgh.
