Greetings friends, Partisan here rising from his retired chair in protest one more time. Please pause your frothing and foaming to listen to this heartfelt and apparently bloody necessary clarification. Take notes, because i'm going to state this one last time, and will simply begin dishing out personal discord blocks as well as blanket bans in the t$ servers to anyone who continues bothering myself, t$ gov or t$ members moving forward. Extremism -of all kinds- is morally reprehensible due to its inherent intertwinement with intolerance; be it race, religion, ideology or anything I might miss. Within its own (IC) realms, t$ has never stood for either extremism or intolerance. That is a double-edged sword, as it comes in many forms. We have over the years been meticulous about balancing core principles surrounding freedom of speech with guarding the moral boundaries of our community. Simultaneously we have been steadfast in our -OOC- denouncement of any and all behavior which may harm, in an OOC manner, the health, happiness or security of individuals both within and outside our alliance. That is where our responsibility ends, and the responsibility of moderation -both within your respective communities and on a broader level, PW- begins. We keep our community clean, and we expect you to keep yours clean. If a community radicalizes in !@#$ation, it is up to moderation to police that. Where OOC matters are concerned, attempts to self-cleans geopolitically are futile, because the burning of pixels has no impact on the state of mind of a shitty person out for toxicity. Moreover, such individuals *thrive* on the polarization it causes, and the cycle of negativity it perpetuates. All attention is good attention, after all. And so, we leave these things in the hands of admin and his staff. The second half of 2020 and first quarter of 2021 have been marked by an increasingly forceful and increasingly off-putting demand for t$ to conform to what we view as little more than mob mentality- induced symbolism. We have over the past months been ostracized by elements within the PW community for our supposed faillure to "do something about KT", and our unwillingness to engage in futile quasi-moralist activism in the form of ingame action against reprehensible elements whom we prefer to simply not work with has been marked as sympathizing with said elements. Despite consistent clarifications, the latest of which was made as recent as last week, we continue to receive regular dms from various individuals questioning our position. To all of you, I state -in principle on behalf of myself, and of any who may identify with my viewpoints-: Get a fricking grip. Our denouncement of these people and our unwillingness to assist them in any way shape or form is all the responsibility we have to this community. PW is intended to be a lighthearted escape from the actual *real* world for which I reserve my OOC outrage, political engagement and activism. Through your intolerance for even the mildest deviations in viewpoints from your self-proclaimed morally superior crusade against what is in essence a minor subgroup of sycophants and basement trolls surrounded by some edgelords and garden variety trolls, you are contributing to the polarization of a whole gaming community (read: PW) of moderates trying to simply play a game into two radicalized OOC "sides". By refusing to allow the middle to exist, you are forcing radicalization, not necessarily to your favor. That is a broad observation on these dynamics; not on t$ itself. We refuse to participate in your toxicity, and given the utter failure of some of you to leave us, as a community, be, a policy of instant blocks and bans is now in place. Leave us be. The guy who responded to you already covered most of it but most of that is related to in-game actions. And that's not to say I'm okay with everything that happens in this game either because I'm definitely not but fighting over external ideologies and things that should be handled by admin/moderation isn't really the way to go imo. You can argue that not enough is being done there and that may well be a fair point but you're not going to fix it with a war. That's like the in-game equivalent of bait and you're giving it a platform imo. If you want to drive change in the community and make it more tolerable, then really, there are a few main things I've noticed we could all be doing a lot better but I'm sure there are more as well: 1) Don't assume the worst off the bat. People make mistakes/don't realize/don't notice things. If you take the time to explain the issue to most people rather than immediately jump on them, you'll more likely than not get a reasonable response and they'll work to improve on the issue. 2) Reporting and bringing notice of these behaviors to the admin/moderation teams. Use the in-game and forums reporting features. They can't address it if they don't know about it. 3) Understand the game limits: Alex doesn't have control over the separate alliance/business discords/platforms. Each of these spaces is governed by those governments/staffs, who should be monitoring their own spaces/keeping them clean like Partisan said. Some may do this better than others but same things apply: they can't address it if they don't know what is going on. Talk to them, share info, etc. If that doesn't work. I highly recommend utilizing Discord's trust and safety team which is rather solid from my experience/understanding. 4) If someone from another alliance is being a d*ck/harassing people in your server or another person's, let their leadership know what is happening. They'll generally appreciate being at least aware of it and can decide on actions from there. 5) Utilize the discord/ingame/forums features for not engaging with people who are harassing you. There is literally no shame in blocking someone if you're an individual or banning someone if you're alliance leadership/gov, especially if they won't leave you/your members alone or respect your personal/community boundaries. You don't owe them anything - it is your life/community and that should be your first priority. And alongside that, if you feel it necessary or if it just continues again elsewhere, definitely make use of the trust and safety team found in my above point. It's way too easy to just point fingers and say "Alex isn't doing enough" or "no one cares" but overall, this community does a garbage job communicating with one another and honestly, a lot - not all - but a lot of this could be improved by just actually talking and communicating with each other more and admin per my first four points. Do your part, help admin do theirs, push people to do more/better. Far more of us than not want this to be an enjoyable community where people don't have to deal with some of the stupid sh*t that has happened here. And maybe all this is idealistic of me but good lord, it'd be nice to see.

I really couldn't agree more. The onus should be on moderation, not the player base, for handling things such as this. And making wars about OOC things is a surefire way to increase toxicity tenfold because it makes it inherently personal and this game shouldn't ever be personal - that's a recipe for misery. It's meant to be a game - i.e. fun - and an escape from RL.

Journalism (500mil) The Rothschild Journalism Prize does not automatically consider all applicable works in the media, but only those that have specifically been entered. This prize will be nominated to a journalist that has gained practically inexecutable intel of wars prior to any official declarations of war, substantially supported investigations that would hunt for fair or unfair game mechanics exploitation and/or bad ethics embracement. Nominations can be suggested on and after the birthday of the Rothschild Family, the 28th March 2021, until the 9th April. Final nominees will be announced on 16th April, and winners will be announced on 28th April.. I'm not sure if saying goodbye here is even something people do or respect, but I feel that maybe this is how I obtain the necessary closure needed to finally walk away. Anyway... I am stepping away from Politics & War after years of game time. My time in Politics & War has been filled with tremendous ups and historical downs, but along that ride I've met some pretty awesome people, learned a lot about myself, and made lifelong friends. In fact, if it wasn't for Politics & War and my need to make things look awesome aesthetically and operate off-site pages, I wouldn't have the technical advantage I have today to start my own business or maintain a position/get promoted in my RL career. I've grown tremendously from where I was when I first put feet down on this world. I was an immature !@#$, made emotional decisions, and pissed a lot of people off. I've made my share of alliances (I think publicly the number is 89-100 now? lol) I could write a book on my life here but in reality only created a handful of fun places with some great friends and had a heck of a time doing it. My last project here was creating Atlas Technologies with some of the closer buds. Developing a system that allows for change, growth, and expansion. I stepped down as Chairman months ago, and that community is still thriving. I told people before that Atlas would be where I hang my hat and although I've had urge, offers, and ideas - I must stick by my word. RL is calling. I've just opened up my small business, I've got work going on there. I am migrating to a new career which is somewhat of a dream job and a total life changer. I also want to get into a few other things in multimedia with friends from PW and RL to just have some fun times, kick back, and chill. Devoting time to this game just doesn't fit within that schedule anymore. I guess I'll do some shout outs. There is no fricking way that I'll be able to name everyone, but if I miss someone that I've engaged with on a higher level, I apologize in advance. @Prefontaine the OG. One of the first guys I met when I joined years ago, who would have known that we lived in the same city and interacted through our careers? You've been solid to me throughout the years, I appreciate that. @Alex put a lot of trust in me to do admin/moderation things. From graphic work, forum moderation, SK moderation when that was a thing, and the design team. I know I'm not the most fun to work with especially when I'm passionate about making things better and more efficient, so thanks for dealing with my complaints and bullshit. You've helped me with RL as well as here and I thank you for that. I wish I never had to type this... Night is now coming upon my time in this game, and I hate to say my last goodbye to this wonderful community. I leave many sorrows, regrets, but also joys as I depart. This may seem sudden and it somewhat is at first glance, but due to a series of recent unfortunate events that unfolded a few days ago, I have decided its best for me to pack up. I probably wont forget most of you here. I never thought a digital nation simulator could be so interesting, especially one like PNW. Really I’m just trying not to be sad my time here is over, but I’m just trying to be glad it happened. It really was a crapshoot that I ever joined this game to begin with, with me joining back in 2018 then getting bored, and then getting a sudden urge to play this game one February night after seeing it in the Play Store. The road I depart you all from is one I wont forget, and I want you all to know that my road ahead is one that requires time to go through. (Honestly, there’s more behind everything I have done since I exited VM that would be just paragraphs long that I don’t want to get into that relate to this.) this sounds good, however, I would include projects like moon base and mars base, these projects actually have an effect in Cybernations, for example. I propose that there be 5 space projects in the game, 2 is already in the game but im editing its bonus. Space Program : Doubles Missile Production, Permanent increase of commerce by 3% (also raises cap by 5%), presumabely by tourists coming to check out your space program. Moon Landing: Permanent increase of commerce by 5% (also increases cap by 5%) Moon Base: Now this will be extremely expensive, but worth it in the end. the Moon Base will essentially function like an extra city, however, it produces stronger versions of military, 15% more efectiveness but solely relies on commerce. Mars Landing: Permanent increase of commerce by 7% (also increases cap by 7%) Mars Base: Same as the moon base, but the military produced from here is even stronger, 25% more effectiveness. These projects may seem OP, but will be extremely expensive, like a c30 would only be able to get like 1 of them if he saved for straight up 2 months, assuming he is on 0% tax and like 2.5k infra. This is meant to be an extremely long term investment plan for players who are here to play for a long time.
