Hi there, thanks for the @ That’s certainly a valid question, and I’m sure there are others who are wondering the same thing, so I’ll do my best to answer. There were two contributing factors as to why I added the note at the end. The first being - at the time I was awfully close minded and refused to entertain anything other than what NPO and BK told me happened regarding GPWC. I had no idea of the extent the Manhwa operation went. I was told it was completely legit and that alex approved it and honestly didn’t really know how it worked. So at the time, foolishly thinking this, I felt alex took a moderation action with intended political consequences. The second being - I feared the security of my alliance. Camelot was the first alliance to peace out following NPOs ban. I had just refused to delete Camelot and was unaware how my former allies would react. I was essentially shunned by former IQ and kicked from the Opus Dei server. GOONS was threatening me while Seeker and Roq were ignoring my messages asking about it. I had a strong suspicion that we’d be attacked as their final departure, so in an attempt to prevent this, I copied GOONS post/terms in a last ditch effort to prevent this. It was later confirmed by GOONS that they intended to hit us, but changed their mind last minute. You may come out reading this feeling as if I’m a hypocrite or deserved it, etc, and I’ll understand that and again apologize for that post.9 points

I think it's pretty self-explanatory. I remember playing this game years ago and the fact that it still has no blacklist and that names are taken out manually by Sheepy is infuriating. There are achievements for putting "cat" in a leader or nation name, why can't there be a list of names that are not allowed to be input?6 points

I'll gladly give Camelot a chance. The moment I see any effort to actually reach out an apologise for all their historic wrongs and not immediately see another member backtrack from that position. As of yet we [OWR] haven't once been approached for the rule-breaking flag they wanted us to fly as part of peace terms. And unless I'm very much mistaken when Carthage brought up the issue of their flag, the apology amounted to, "Relax, it was just a joke." I'm going to assume there are many others they've not actually reached out to. Figure out how to apologise. Figure out how to stick to that apology. It's not difficult.6 points

You start out by stating: “I can say with certainty Camelot [Cameltoe] does not support the actions IQ took, and we are sorry for having been any part of it…” And then, of course, you backtrack. “posting a denouncement would be a dis-service to you, our members, the people who were forced out and every other community member.” So, either Cameltoe fully rejects the legacy of IQ, or it doesn’t. Simple. By the way what you mean by “dis-service?” You mean that it’s better if Cameltoe apologises but doesn’t fully reject the very thing (Pathetica/IQ) that made your alliance as hated as it is? And one more thing, you don’t go around posting an apology for actions which you are quick to defend and promote elsewhere. And what the devil is this?! “The alliance is working hard on repairing broken trust and relations with everyone and I truly hope you will see that soon.” Legal sounding boilerplate? Come on, show us a little respect and don’t treat us like the recipients of an airline delay announcement. Everybody knows that those words are as valuable as cigarette butts. If you Cameltoes regret the legacy of IQ, make a FORMAL denouncement of IQ, and STICK to it. I dare all of you. @Epi should be the first to denounce. Then you @Azazel, and then everyone else until we get to the malfunctioning bots like @King Arthur Until then you can take your “apologies” and stuff ‘em up your er…uhm…up your Cameltoe! (whatever that means). Oh, and @Azazel it says a lot that you, a Round Table member have to defend you alliance’s KING from my relatively weak statements. Maybe you guys really should re-evaluate your alliance leadership.4 points

Imagine being that guy who makes assertions about someone IRL because he doesnt like that persons posting. Stop being a raging neckbeard eumir We offered peace because frankly, the war needed to end, and we're not like IQ. That does not mean we are obligated to immediately forgive and forget all that transpired. Some things occurred that were kept off of the forums as well which transcended ingame "tactics or terms". What you see on the forums is the proverbial tip of the iceberg, brought here only because private discussions and diplomacy hit a brick wall. Not liking an entity or individual ingame does not immediately mean there's going to be instant war. We can be critical and verbalize our gripes without immediately moving to eradicate the other party. Matter of fact... it's probably necessary to address these things in order to move forward :P.4 points

Not being in an alliance is your real problem. As the recruiter for my alliance I noticed, especially in the recent influx, alot of you with this very misguided idea that you can just go without an alliance and be fine. What you're experiencing is the reality vs your expectations. You'll get raided over and over and over again, by multiple opponents, all always stronger than you, until you either join an alliance or go inactive. Not all alliances require discord. These alliances usually suck at actually doing much of anything for anyone, but usually protect you through their treaties. Try using discord in your browser if it doesn't work downloaded or vice versa. Also, try The Knights Radiant. They use Slack instead of Discord, which might work better for you, and are a damn fine alliance to boot. They even tend on the lower side of taxes, like 10% I think. That information is old and may not longer be the case. At the end of the day, this is a political sim that revolves around communities and teams, in the form of alliances. And honestly, the game itself is pretty crap, without a good alliance of new friends to make it better.2 points

Unless someone breaches the NAP, there's no deal to renege on. Absent a superceding agreement, anyone is justified in attacking anyone else for any or no reason. There's no need for a 'point' to war. As for the 'point' of peace, it's rather simple really: everyone needed a good solid break. The fact that the wounds haven't healed, nor ever will heal fully, doesn't mean that the peace was wasted. An important bit of context that you're missing, by the way, is that IQ conducted themselves reprehensibly and indefensibly on both IC and OOC levels. They constantly walked back on their own assurances and promises, never once acting in good faith whatsoever. Camelot was not the worst of it, not even close, but even to this day they've failed to make any apologies that they didn't immediately undermine the credibility of. Really, the only thing that's saving their reputation at all is the simple fact that they really were 'just following orders', and could not have constructively objected to their overlords regardless. An even more important bit of context that you really desperately need to be aware of is this: That, right there? The ability do do exactly that was IQ's precondition for even beginning the process of formulating the structure of peace discussions, let alone peace discussions themselves. They were completely unwilling to consider the possibility of being held accountable for their own terms, and constantly moved the goalposts with the explicit intention of preventing peace from accidentally occuring. If you find 'making new demands that weren't agreed to initially' distasteful, then yes. As a victim, you would feel differently, because that was what went down.2 points

Hello, you've reached the Whale support line. Please listen closely as our options have changed. Press '1' if you'd like to complain that content targeted for "late game" only helps whales. Press '2' if you'd like to vote against content targeting helping new players, while complaining there isn't enough content that helps new players. Press '3' if you'd like to complain that the admin doesn't listen to anyone except Prefontaine. Press '4' if you're Partisan. Press '5' if you think more needs to be done to help new players, even though a comprehensive tutorial has been announced to be implemented, players are reaching high city counts worlds quicker than previously, the market prices have been elevated to support the sale of resources which bolster new players economy, and several other factors. Press '6' if you complain about any change, regardless of what it is. Change is scary. Press '7' if you would like to post a constructive, well thought out critique of things, while presenting alternative ideas that, even though you may not think it, do get listened to and cause tweaks in conten-- I'm just kidding no one presses '7'. Arthur was replying to a post specifically asking him a outright question, and he gave a honest answer. Never once did we claim to be victims, whats presented is his reasoning for his actions at the time. I believe you are correct, however this is the underwritten message of many posts ive / aero / arthur made, so i apologize if it was not transparent enough. However I can say with certainty Camelot does not support the actions IQ took, and we are sorry for having been any part of it I actually disagree, denouncing their actions isnt a apology, Camelot was apart of the colo that did act with no morals and caused many people to quit, and simply posting a denouncement would be a dis-service to you, our members, the people who were forced out and every other community member. Arthur posted the apology because he does regret being part of the colo that allowed BK / NPO to war for 8 months and force many people out. The alliance is working hard on repairing broken trust and relations with everyone and I truly hope you will see that soon. From my understanding NPO ect were already mad they refused to peace, so I believe hes referring to peacing out, however I can ask Arthur for deeper clarification if you would like.2 points

I'm trying to read between the lines here. Here's my personal assessment of what's going on here. I'm not going to argue about it, because I'm admitting I could very well be wrong and I'm not strong in these convictions. It's just a gut feeling. I think Camelot was sincere when they publicly apologized. I think it was an attempt to show t$ and others that they were not afraid to only say they were sorry behind closed doors, but also in the public sphere for everyone to see. I think it was meant to be a message that they meant what they were saying in private. Here's how it blew up in their face. A lot of people clearly have disdain for Epi. A lot of the commentary seems like it's a wink wink nudge nuge, alluding to the fact that if they simply removed Epi and threw him to the wolves that it would REALLY prove they were sincere. That's just my take. It could be completely off base. Although, I think most people want them to remove Epi on their own accords, not because they were bullied into it. Where this all backfired, because they made this public, is now if they actually decided to remove Epi for their own reasons, because they felt he was cancerous and bad for their culture, it would publicly appear that they were bullied into it or removed him to save themselves from getting rolled. That's a REALLY bad look for the alliance and a horrible precedent to set. Basically if they kicked Epi now it would sure look like their members could be sent to the chopping block by the rest of Orbis. Why would anyone want to join an alliance that could be bullied by the mob to kick their members to the curb for a "cheek clapping" as Eurimbago puts it lol. I'm just trying to put myself in their shoes. It seems like they're backed into a corner with no good options, although I suppose they've put themselves in this situation. Sincerely wish both sides luck in resolving this.2 points

Well, @King Arthur, I didn’t think you could it, but you did. Using exactly 265 words, you managed to undercut your entire apology. You’re now NPO’s victim? How sweet! Hey, everyone, be nice to Cameltoe and @Epi because NPO was also mean to them! Not once in this post do you mention that IQ’s attempt at forcing alliances to leave the game was WRONG! All you talk about is how Cameltoe (and you, of course) were betrayed by NPO and GOONS. Based on this post, you, a) don’t give a frick about the (in-game) genocide and b) NPO’s only mistake was turning against Cameltoe. So basically trying to save your own rear-end. That’s not an apology, that’s an explanation. You know, trying to achieve IQ’s objectives while spewing verbal “apologies” won’t cut it. A REAL apology would be a full renounciation of the (low) IQ and Pathetica. And I ain’t seeing any of that anywhere. You haven’t fooled anyone @King Arthur with your cheap sentimentality. You’re going to offer “apologies” and “play nice”, etc. while @Epi and the other Fishy Stinkers at Cameltoe continue to justify their participation in the worst thing to ever happen to this game. Assuming that you’re even capable of learning @King Arthur , I have this much to tell you: Learn how to REALLY apologise, because right now, you’re doing a lot of this:2 points

To stop the bleeding that IQ & Coalition B caused. IQ and others were attempting to get people to quit the game, the war had been raging on for close to a year - it was time to end it. Think of the peace like stitches to stop the bleeding. Had we not have put stitches in, Orbis would continue to bleed out. During the time you have stitches you are supposed to take it easy until the wound is healed. The argument at hand is that there are those that did not follow the appropriate procedures to keep the wound clean so that it would heal - they kept performing actions that has caused the wound to become infected. How bad the infection is has yet to be seen.2 points

At least 4 logical fallacies in one sentence. Keep going, you'll get em all one day. You're probably one of them folk that say, "we gave em equal rights in '64 so they are equal now!" Laws, policies, or structured circumstances that have a disproportionate impact on african americans: 1. Redlining/Blockbusting 2. Segregation in Schools 3. Hiring Discrimination 4. Refusal to grant loans and here 5. Access to quality nutrition 6. Access to or ability to receive quality healthcare The list goes on but I imagine I'll get some half baked, "pull urself up by ur bootstraps, I know a black guy who makes more than me" answer. Just because you can spew out poorly researched trash, doesn't mean the rest of us don't take time to formulate opinions based in reality.2 points

Alliance executives, owners, reformers, analyst, proletariats, and members, (EDIT: This is an ad) To be frank, I love creating things such as fancy rosters, hierarchical structures, forum set-ups, databases, and etc. I believe these things could greatly benefit alliances that are beginning to implement guides, laws, taxes, rules, hierarchies, and are growing. These jobs aren't in demand or anything so I wouldn't charge an arm and a leg. I would just request that you pay me what you believe is fair and right. I really do enjoy working on things like this so, politely I ask, throw some big projects at me and give me the reign. It gives me something to do and it would only benefit your alliance. If you would like to inquiry on details or more explanation on what I do, I'd like to ask you message my nation via P&W and we organize how to communicate then. Support small nations, thank you guys for feeding my creative mindset. -P1 point

Some alliances can work with you if can't get discord to work. Only thing I can suggest, if you don't want to join an alliance, is try to build up to a 1000 score and create your own alliance that you can safekeep your stuff to. Trying to play a game like this as a recluse is extremely difficult if you don't have a extraordinarily high nation score and at least a trusted offshore bank. I agree that the community is 90% trolls and toxic players as seen above but with the right connections you can make it. If you join back think about what's best for you at the moment and do that. Best of luck.1 point

No, VIP nations do not get any sort of a cash bonus. The game is free to play, but that means we have to pay for the servers, labor, etc. somehow. We have a very limited donation system, in which each person can spend only about $45 / month toward any in-game benefits. Sure, it's not nothing (if it didn't change anything no one would buy it) but like I said, it is very limited to keep the game from being "pay to win." 97% of players do not spend any money on the game, and you can actually purchase Credits for in-game money as well so you don't need to spend real money to get ahead or get any of the perks that people who do spend real life money do. Please see my above statement. If the game had no donations, then everyone would have to pay to play and there would be far fewer players and the game wouldn't be nearly as fun. Like I said, only about 3% of people actually spend any money anyway.1 point

This update helps smaller nations far more, with low tier raiding being the best way to actually make money in the early game, reducing the unraidable cap for lower tier means that you can make more money off raiding. In the case of a whale, at the moment the person with the most cities (Wampus) gets an unraidable cap of 2.25m, this is practically pocket change in the higher tiers, it's in no way a massive buff to the whales, it's simply a far better adjustment. Furthermore, projects focused on the lower tier are much harder to design as you would need it to become less viable as you tier up, and since people tend to reach mid/lower mid tier fairly quickly, those projects won't see much use and are wasted time that could be invested elsewhere in polishing out features, designing new ones etc.1 point

OOC I’m driving and can’t read responses, but I’ve thought about it and I realized I’m conflating the argument. I’ll save these reservations if war breaks out. The victims have a right to be mad (which I said originally). The post is about forgiveness, not a justification for a war that hasn’t even broke out yet. I retract my previous statement lol.1 point

Not sure why you are complaining. This change was widely agreed on and helps lower level raiders the most. In any case there is nothing wrong with this game supplying more content for older players(or supporting whales as you call it). After all this is literally a nation building game in which you are constantly trying to grow your nation lol.1 point

Ya. Looks pretty bad. If only the entire server was leaked. Like the part where after I asked Under to change the terms for Theo and t$ to include the 12b, I later said I have every intention to remove the term once we get to that term for negotiation. It was one of the but arguments Sphinx and I had as he wanted me to remove it altogether, I simply wanted to remove it once we reached that part of negotiation. And as for the rolling of t$ till the disband comment. I was openly mocking others in the chat. My sentiments haven't changed from what I said in this thread. Only thing that has changed is how it is perceived. I am very sorry for these, but I guess when Sphinx and TcW start to feel irrelevant he does what he does best.1 point
