  1. You make your own fun in these things. When the game gets dull, I return to my family's farm and like farm for a few months. It ain't much, but it's honest work.

  2. I am not sure if it's right place if it's not please move it somewhere else. Prepare for bad grammar and complains. My main issue about this game is that too much relaying on community. Every interesting things which are happening currently in game it's up to players. This game is so dull rn that only community keeps it alive. It is sad that game doesn't make any significant progress. There is nothing to do in game rn. No interesting addition to nations or alliances like researches to get bonuses, something like that. Maybe new military unit to make next war more interesting? Idk Why not make something which force alliances to fight more often over some bonuses or sth. People don't fight too often because they don't have reason to burn pixels. How many times we can fight just for lolz or grudges? And maybe some small change from time to time in war mechanic to make every war more interesting? I don't expect huge changes but this game should be interesting itself. Right now, only community keeps me in this game. I really force myself to log in game. I spend more time at discord... Tell me what you think. I am old player not the oldest but totally bored with lack of new interesting content. And yeah I am free to play player so I am not feeling comfortable to criticise it but well...I don't see reason to support this game when I see such stagnation. I only support games which have constant progress. I am tired of trying entertain myself. I did many stupid things but I am feeling burnt out. Ehhh... I expect interesting new things in game. I saw pretty nice ideas in suggestions at forum from members and seems to be mostly ignored.

  4. (Note: This was originally written on March 10, 2016. Up until now, this post was only available via DM to those who participated. I have decided to make it public in the event that direct messages are deleted after a certain amount of time, and to provide everyone an opportunity to read it. Enjoy this blast from the past and my 2016 writing skills. Guests of the witch's wedding include: @Aisling Duval, @Alexei Sokolov, @Lelouch Vi Britannia, @Prezyan, and @Zafri Zackery. The two brides are, of course, @Eva-Beatrice and @Sintiya.) *The following scene is set in the Meta World. Those who attended, whether human, witch, demon, or angel, were able to arrive quickly and safely. Humans invited from Orbis were able to pass through special gates that opened up in their respective countries. Magical beings invited had a similar convenience. With the scene set, let us begin!* The cathedral was beautifully decorated to be the place of the wedding between Grand Duchess Sintiya of Finland, and the Golden and Endless Witch Eva-Beatrice from Rokkenjima. A crowd of humans, witches, demons, and angels filled the cathedral, waiting for their arrival. Fitting for a royal and magical wedding, it was not solemn or quiet, but cheery and noisy, brimming with activity. Those attending were seated according to their respective groups, each group conversing amongst themselves. The humans were seated below, the witches, demons, and angels on the balcony. Those who were a combination of witch and angel, and witch and demon were seated in between. Among the witch group, we see the government members of both the Eastern Asian Republic and Rokkenjima, as well as others hailing from many different worlds. The cathedral itself was guarded by the Chiester Sisters Imperial Guard Corps. Under their guard, none would be able to interfere with the wedding. Among the crowd of humans, several conversations can be heard. Lelouch: "Part of me still can't believe this is actually happening. Of course I'm happy for them, but a little worried at the same time." Alexei Lysenko: "I agree. We're still not 100% certain as to what the Mariage Sorciere's motives are. A marriage between a witch and a human might put our world in jeopardy." Zafrizackery: *flicks both Lelouch and Alexei in the back of the head* "That's my sister you're talking about, you know! I won't have you speaking about her in such a way at her wedding." *Lelouch and Alexei look back at Zafrizackery, rubbing their heads.* Lelouch: "Damn! Only anime flicks have that sort of power!" Alexei: "Agreed!" Lelouch: "Anyways, I was just kidding, Zack! Haha. I'm sure we have nothing to worry about. R-right, Prezyan? Hey! Prezyan!" *Lelouch looks over at Prezyan, who has fallen asleep in his chair. Whatever he's dreaming about seems to be troubling him deeply.* Lelouch: "Prezyan!!" *Prezyan was jostled awake as a result of Lelouch's shout* Prezyan: "Who?! Wha?! Did someone say Narvan?!" Lelouch: "Oh, nevermind. Just forget about it." A deep sound reverberated through the cathedral. It was the sound of the several dozen Chiester Imperial Guards who stood in a line across the cathedral and stamped their heels in unison. It brought about total silence in the cathedral even before the demons running the ceremony spoke. Zepar: "Let us have silence, ladies and gentlemen!!" Furfur: "Welcome to the wedding of Sintiya, the Grand Duchess of Finland, and Lady Eva-Beatrice, the Golden and Endless Witch of Rokkenjima!!" Though they had asked for silence, the attendants who packed the cathedral welcomed the two demons with an enormous applause. Bernkastel: "Oh, it's Zepar and Furfur." Lambdadelta: "It truly is an honor to have those two host a wedding." Solaris: "I agree..." Zepar: "Well then! Let us welcome the lovely couple!" Furfur: "Please give then a grand welcome and celebrate their departure!" Zepar and Furfur: ""Come out, you two!! Walk the path of the shackles called marriage, which will bind you until the grave!!"" The big doors in the back of the cathedral slowly opened. And then, the Grand Duchess and her beautiful bride came into view. Hands linked, the pair slowly began to walk down the path lined with red carpet. The Chiester Guards stood at attention along either side of that path, raised their adorned bayonets with mechanical precision, and made sure that no evil could block the path that the pair walked down. Chiester Sister troops that weren't part of the 'Honor Guard' were stationed all over the cathedral, hiding behind pillars and so on, and keeping an eye out for any intruders. Behind Sintiya and Eva-Beatrice walked the Seven Sisters of Purgatory, who held long, ceremonial arms in the shape of the One-winged Eagle, the symbol of Rokkenjima. The servants of the Grand Duchess could be seen beside them as well. The procession of Sintiya and Eva-Beatrice slowly walked down the path to the altar, and reached it. Once more, the sound of the Chiester honor guard stamping their heels rang out loudly. Silence returned to the cathedral once more. Now the ceremony would finally begin. Zepar: "People live for the sake of love! Therefore today, you have fulfilled the purpose of your lives." Furfur: "Oh, how great is the power to live, the power of love! I pray that the brightness of this day blesses these two for all time!" Zepar and Furfur: ""Come now! You who love one another! Make the oath of love!"" Sintiya swears to Eva-Beatrice, and Eva-Beatrice swears to Sintiya to support each other, both in sickness and in health. Zepar and Furfur: ""You have now heard the pair's oath of love. Oh, let this oath be eternal!!"" The thunderous applause celebrated their marriage. After the oath, they would physically signify the bond. It was the exchanging of the rings. The ring with the One-winged Eagle on it would become Sintiya's. In exchange, Eva-Beatrice would receive a diamond ring. Zepar: "Yes, let the pair exchange rings!!" The pair gently took the other's left hand and placed their respective rings on the other's finger. With that, the pair were eternally bonded in holy matrimony. The ceremony had ended without any problems and the reception was held inside the cathedral. For the first time, attendants of different groups were able to mingle. Nowhere else would you be able to witness this. Witches and humans, humans and demons, humans and angels, and perhaps the strangest of all, demons and angels, all conversing joyfully. After the reception, each group went their separate ways. The humans, and some witches, returned to either Orbis or Rokkenjima, while the rest returned to their respective worlds. (If anyone read this far, we thank you, lol. I'm aware it was a lot, but I wanted to make sure it was detailed and entertaining for you all. I should also mention that several lines were taken from the Umineko no Naku Koro ni visual novel. Credit for those go to the great Ryukishi07. Once again, thank you so much for reading. Hope you enjoyed. o/)

  7. Time for some political analysis - some discussion - and worldly dialogue. ORB has always promotes conversation and dialogue - talking about politics and game mechanics doesn't mean you're telling alliance secrets, dropping OPSEC information, or anything of that sort - developing a sense of understanding of what is going on to better understand the full picture, possible avenues, and map out future changes is what we are all about and we invite y'all to join in on our conversation. Check out our recent post outlining political changes we have seen & some we could likely expect. Gracias mi amigos. Updates: 4/15 Updates

  13. I have returned. After three years spent wandering, searching for a worthy endeavor I realised that I had forsaken a truly intriguing game. My previous nation long since scattered across the internet is reborn in The Democratic Republic of Olechnia, properly spelled Olešnia. As my country develops I hope to once again contribute to an engaging community. Thank you, Lan Sandor

  14. I was at work today and was having a typical day. My coworkers were all laughing at my witty banter and the women could not stop admiring my muscles as I furiously typed away. I was working hard on making sure The Land of Simple was in tip top shape while my boss was not at his desk. But then one of my colleagues politely asked me “What is that war and politics shit I always see you on?” I eloquently replied “Oh haha… It’s uh… like an online game...” “I think I’ve heard of that,” he said. “No you haven’t,” I assured him. My colleague is a fan of strategy games like Civilization so seeing a chance to bring glory to TKR I suggested he check the game out. He then went and looked up “war and politics” and quickly found the site (great job on the SEO Alex). However, when he saw the main page he simply laughed. This was what the front page looks like: He described it as looking like a “Wikipedia-ass game”. Now, while I think this page is this most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, I can understand why some may be hesitant to sign up. Alex, recently you made an April Fools joke about updating the game’s UI. Are there any legitimate plans to do this? I believe if the site looked a little less “Wikipedia-ass gameish” the game would be more attractive to potential players. Just an idea. Yours Forever, Smith

Go by Dachsavar on pretty much every game I play ranging from stuff like STO, to text based games like this. I should hopefully be sticking around for quite a while, learning what I can about the game and just generally having a bit of fun with it.

  19. You're not wrong with what you are saying - but unfortunately what you're pointing out as what is wrong with PW is exactly what PW is. Spreadsheets are just tools that help people do jobs better, they aren't hard to create, manage or utilize - but you can do pretty much everything through the game. You really don't need spreadsheets, it just makes people feel like they are cool and superior. As someone who does news/articles/stories for PW through orb-gaming.com - I'm not sure what the difference of joining a server/bookmarking page vs subscribing to a news feed on PW would be - most news here in PW is pretty shitty. I personally only push news out when there is actual news, following politics and major movements - there is no sense in repeating most news found on Alliance Affairs or Orbis Central, when there really isn't a story behind it. I think the only other major news source out here is....Orbis Tribune and they primarily operate through their discord server. I do agree on the infra thing, after getting trashed in the last war - having to go city to city to pop in some infra is pretty damn annoying. A city management page would do wonders for people in this game. I have a few suggestions: 1. Plan things in the community that put more action in the game. (Hard) 2. Reroll your nation, develop satellite alliances while keeping nations small and frick shit up. (Medium) 3. Delete and carry on with your life. (Easy)

  20. I feel compelled to defend Partisan's honor that you would compare two paragraphs to his beautiful walls of text. Nationsims such as PnW, and including PnW, used to have more emphasis on the concept of "In-character versus Out-of-Character" (IC and OC). This doesn't just mean keeping your real life separate from the game, but it also means having a character to be in. It means (meant?) putting forth that effort to make a post entertaining or worth reading. Most of the people here already know this but as these games progress in real-time, the people who put the effort in get burnt out. Some more easily, some less so. Eventually everyone that's active hits a point where they need to take a break. Prefontaine is an excellent example of someone who cares to put the effort in but gets burnt out and returns again, Partisan is a worse example but you get the idea. The game depends on the community to generate most of its content, but we're trending towards less of both quality and quantity. Again, not to single you out Buo, but your post the other day talking about signatures and treaty text being boring minutia that didn't warrant actual posting is a good example of this trend. When you said something along the lines of "let's get back to what matters: playing the game" I think that's a strong example of an overarching attitude that has had a negative impact on the overall game health (again, not trying to blame you sorry for blasting your post). More often than not, treaties don't get announced or it's more of a handshake than anything either party has put effort into designing. Declaring war is a quiet thing for many groups. Dissolving treaties even more so. I remembered when forum announcements were drafted by a team of people in certain alliances and proofread as well as a graphics person assigned for imagery. That may be a thing of the past but we still have good examples from PnW of solid effort. SK, as much as I hated their indecipherable fonts, used to put a lot of effort into the design and theme of their treaty announcements. Prefontaine is infamous for his video war declarations, a style that has been copied across the board by multiple groups. Partisan, as you say, has his moments where he posts a beautifully written wall of text with citations, sometimes images, usually a few roasts, etc. My point is: The difference that minimal effort makes is palpable on the forums, I think.

  21. Imperial Palace Conference Room, Lunar City / 13 April 2019 - 6:36 PM (Everyone has taken their seat. Aisling Duval walks in sitting in the middle chair of the desk by herself) Hello everyone. I am Empress Aisling Duval. This is the very first press conference we have ever done here. I'm very honored to host this to answer questions regarding the future of the country and our plans moving forward. Before we start i'd like to say that I will be as transparent as I can but do note that some questions may be skipped if we don't have an answer for them. First question please. Hi, Empress. My question is to ask what happened to the Meta Board? Featherine seemed to have disappeared without a trace and people seem proud of it. (Aisling sat there, blowing out air - thinking about how to explain that) The Meta Board has officially dissolved yesterday because of the merge being completed. Featherine the former ruler of this land was not the best to the people. Before she left the government was collapsing following a scandal that she herself has been causing terrorist incidents around the country as a ploy to make people live in fear from The Collective who hasn't attacked the nation in over 12 months. We don't expect her to come forward to share more information about it. This event was called the 2018 Meta Board Senate Conspiracy. This officially killed the Meta Board after seven months of investigations. Next question. Does the Empire have a regent? You guys make these questions hard for me. We do not have a regent. However, I will make this announcement because I am in fact carrying a child. The father's name will not be disclosed but he is a former government official of the Meta Board. His identity will be revealed in a later time. For Foreign Affairs, are you planning on signing with former allies of the Meta Board? We have already signed with Britannia after sending one of my senators there. For other countries like Rokkenjima, I officially confirmed the termination of Mariage Sorciere under the grounds of a terrorism related scandal mentioned in the first question. We had no plans on renewing it from day zero. For other allies we're currently contacting them as we speak. I will share that information the instant I know. What changes have you made so far? That is a good question. My agenda for the first week was to reverse every policy that Featherine has put into place from 2016 to 2019. I've already done that and matched the policies with the rest of the Empire. Documentation from the Meta Board is no longer valid so we had to issue every individual new documentation which was a piece of work I might add. The Rokkaku Corporation has merged with another company - more information on that soon. Also we've lowered police activity nationwide to make people actually more comfortable in stepping outside and living their lives without big brother watching them. Going back to the Regent question. Why can't you share the information of the father? He is placed under our protection after an assassination attempt from The Collective. It has come to our attention that since he returned from asylum in another country. He has been a marked man by this group for approximately three years. So we will not share information about him to ensure his safety and quite possibly mine. This is why our wedding will be a private event. Why didn't you rename Lambdagrad? This was mainly because for some reason, residents of the former capital wanted the city to be marked as an historical district. I decided to honour their requests and keep the city name as is. We will renovate the Lambdagrad Tower to be a hotel. Renovation is scheduled to start in May. What is your future plans? To make this place a better place to live for everyone. Under my guidance, I feel like we can achieve great things. If we go out there and repair the damages that Featherine left behind. We can ensure a better future for old and new citizens alike. We are an empire. This is not MY Empire. This is OUR empire. With it we must look forward to the future day by day knowing that we can all contribute to something that might seem far from our reach. But it's closer than you think. We are unfortunately out of time. So we will be taking no more questions at this time. Thank you for coming and I hope to see you all in the next conference. We will be taking questions from foreign ambassadors post-conference. They're free to post questions to the transcript that is due to be released on the 14th and I personally will answer them. (Aisling got up from her chair, kindly waving to everyone before leaving the room)

  25. Ya im pretty sure there is still a few of us who are older then you sticking around but this game is about the community not the game its self. You only need to spend a few minutes in the game and your done for the day. If your alliance is at war then you will probably spend 10 minutes in the game at most. You will instead find yourself spending more time with the community whether it be on this here owf, pws discord or just your alliances discord. The alliances and their members is where it is at. And im pretty sure sheepy added something to the game way back to spark more conflict and i believe it was those silly treasures.
    1 point
  26. Well, I think a lot of people would agree with what you're saying - many times mechanics and shit have been added to this game with the intention of causing more conflict, but this community has a way to remove the conflict intent and just reap the benefits of those mechanics. You can go back to pretty much every update 'designed' to cause conflict and you'll see minimal conflict w/ just a simple cash bonus added to nations/alliances. Unfortunately, most games like these, as you probably know, thrive off the community itself and usually have a pretty limited admin involvement. For me, the community is where I find this game intriguing and fun, the game itself - really not that fun and if I wasn't a part of a community, made friends, or just had laughs constantly with people, I'd likely not be here. I have been burned out in the past, but there is a certain point where you have to get down to the bottom of what this all is. It's just a game and it is legitimately what you make it, you have the option to be burnt or stay fresh. I'd suggest reevaluating your current position, get yourself in with some people who have the same mindset, that this is just a game, and have some fun with some good people.
    1 point
  27. you aren't bored, you're boring! be more creative, friendo. but seriously the community part is what makes the game good. I like how it's easy to learn, but the real enjoyment comes out of interacting with other players.

  29. I'm literally cringing right now, "normal price". There is no normal price on resources. Take oil and gas for instance, in real life, as much as people want to believe their is a "normal price" and manipulate things to try and achieve that "normal price", fact is there is no normal price. The price is what the price is and no matter what you do the market will decide. The second you try and manipulate the market by trying to buy up the offers and increase the price, everyone will flood the market with offers to try and sell for that price and guess what? The price will fall back or even further than before. This is basic economics folks. Accept the market for what it is.
    1 point
  30. Just want to point that out before people take it too serious. You folks are too use to the prices back a few years ago. This is the norm. More players = more product = cheaper prices. When conflict becomes regular again, the market will see a spike back up just like what @Vack posted earlier. There's a lot of stockpile out there that isn't being sold at all.
    1 point
  31. It's worth noting that there's a wee bit of market manipulation going on here. Some nations have multiple huge offers posted, which may mean that they only have enough resources to supply one of those offers. The only thing is that if that 3 billion was used to push the prices up we'd probably see an increase of nations putting their resources up for sale, pushing the prices back down. down. Also, raws costing more vis a vi manufactured materials is good for small nations when you consider that usually its the smaller nations making the raws and bigger nations refining them.

  47. My sides I find this insulting, my members of my family have served, and I have multiple friends serving now. No military person acts this way, even on the internet. Military people have discipline, also, Navy Seals do not threaten to kill over the internet, if they do kill, they do it without a trace, and they just do it. Navy Seals do not access the arsenal to the USMC, the utilize the arsenal and budget of J SOC, And Navy Seals do not have access to spy ring around the US, they are soldiers that engage the enemy, spies operate under differently and do not tell others who they are. I never served, and my disability prevents me from serving. But I will do my best to honor my friends and family who bravely served. I am starting a poll to Ban his Forum Account, (Not His game account), for this insult. I do not wish to have my loved ones insulted by an impostor. He has impersonated a United States Navy Seal in an Online Fashion. Some of you may think that I am going too far with this, that he is just a stupid impersonator. But one of my dear friends was blown up last year in Kandahar, and these type posts truly insult me. Say what you will.
