From the desk of Uncle Traveling Matt The most handsome Fraggle Greetings Friends!! It feels like it was years ago that we started our journey. Only 100 days ago, we celebrated our 500th nuclear deterrent. Today, with a generous donation by Ryanzilla, we shall build number 600. As we finish phase five of The Fraggle Plan, TFP, we want to thank a few of our friends. El Commander: You've always been there for us. Daddy Critters and Soup: Your desire to buy discounted food from us has helped more than we expected. Zeebrus: Your spirit keeps us going. Ape and Hayley: Your weird relationship keeps us up at night wondering if the Sam and Diane aspect will ever play out. Thrax: You disappoint at times, but I count on that. Others of Orbis: You push us forward with your contempt for a peaceful Nation. Fraggle Rock will continue to be the thorn in your side Phase six will begin soon Many Hugs Uncle Traveling Matt6 points

Pirates, a harmless nuisance that prayed on the weak and the inactive. However, as Afrika Korps gazes out into the open sea, we no longer see the simple single sailed ships gliding in the waves. The ships are huge, hulking beasts that break waves and spirits. Arrgh is preparing for something as their captains grow in military might. Their captains' numbers grow by the day and their power grows every more worrisome. Light cannons are now replaced with harmless 12 - pounders being replaced with 36 - pounders. Lucky for us our Panzers don't need an upgrade for wooden ships. Afrika Korps declares war on the "alliance" Arrgh so that we may keep the waters clear for Christmas.5 points

I like the idea of having a nuclear meltdown because I think it adds a fun random element to what is normally a boring game outside of war. However, removing an entire city is a bit drastic. A better idea would be to have it make the city go 'inactive' for a few days, where it practically doesn't exist but is back to normal within a few days. @Shiho Nishizumi had the idea to make a nuclear meltdown function like a regular nuke, which I liked. Removing an entire city is to dramatic though.4 points

From 15 cities and above, nations have to pay $100M+ for a new city. With a 25% chance of losing it, I am sure most nations above that level would switch to coal/oil power plants. A nation that is in a proper alliance could get 15 cities within two or three months. So, a nation would have an "advantage" in improvements only for that long. The way the numbers are now, I am sure that the current mechanic will just make all active nations just switch to other power plants, offering no real extra growth advantage to smaller nations. As a theme/mechanic per se, it would be useless but also a little fun. Having things like natural disasters (and player vs game mechanics) is an idea that could spice things up.3 points

Ask a question, get ignored. Declare a war and suddenly there’s a line of people wanting to talk to me. Glad we could work this out.3 points

Natural disasters are a great idea. However, I am lukewarm about the fact that it can completely remove the city. When you have to pay over 1 billion to get city 30, it is just devastating to have to pay for that city 30 twice a year. In my opinion it should just send a city down to 0 infra and destroy all improvements.2 points

Hello. I am Isaiah. I've been playing this game for a couple days, with what I believe to be a fair amount of success. In ~5 days I have earned $6,493,561.62 from raiding other nations who chose not to invest primarily in their military. Don't try to get a piece of my pie though! I've already spent it on improvements and military, only have a nibble of that left. Just realized I've only bragged this entire time... Wow. I'm not a narcissist, I swear!2 points

In an effort to keep the Directory up-to-date, I've un-pinned the old thread and just posting a link to the directory on the Wiki, which is much easier to keep current. To find a list of all game-related Discord servers (Alliances, Banks, Mini-Games, etc.) please visit the Wiki page here: https://politicsandwar.wikia.com/wiki/Discord_Directory Future changes can be made by updating the Wiki page itself.2 points

Honestly, not quite sure why anybody bothers with DoWing Arrgh. They’re pretty much in a perma war with every alliance out there as it is if you think about it.2 points

The goal is to inconvenience and slow down whale growth. The effect is that you slow down everyone below whale tier who doesn't build whale levels of infra. A 30 city nation with 3.5k per city and a 16 with 2.5-3.2, something i saw recently, will both have less problems just straight up avoiding this at the cost of a minor annoyance, than myself at 19, who stays at 2k. Because when i get a new manu project and do two manu resources again, i just do not have slots for anything else. Which means id have to scale back to one manu to get coal/oil plants, and also buy coal/oil to fuel them, a hit fare more noticeable to me than the other two nations i described, on whom the impact would be much less severe. They don't have to cut half their economy off, then buy the thousands of raws to keep their power on with half the economy they previously had. But i would. It would slow me down, by no ones definitions a whale or a pixel hugger, but will it ever so mildly inconvenience people who are whales and pixel huggers. The issue with your solutions to these problems is they frequently do more to impede the people who aren't part of the problem, than they do the people who are part of the problem. It's like trying to reduce wealth disparity in America by introducing a new flat income tax on every citizen. That is precisely what would not happen.1 point

So my suggestion adds an in-game mechanic of alliance warfare, surrendering and peace. If 25% of the members of alliance A declares on alliance B they then enter into an alliance war that is visible and trackable in-game This alliance war continues until peace terms are sent from either Alliance A to B or B to A and accepted in the in-game mechanic. These terms can include surrendering anthem rights, flag rights, taxes, a certain amount of money/resources, restrictions on treaty signings, and etc. Thanks to George who helped me pen this.1 point

Arrgh is a very proud alliance. Good luck getting a diplomatic solution with them, and the alternative usually costs you more than it costs them. I like Arrgh, I think they're great fighters and a good source of mercenaries. But I do admit that they get out of hand at times. Taking another regular swill, here's to a healthy, lively Arrgh alliance.1 point

Let it be known that the freebooting pirate anarchy of Arrgh sails the seven seas. Our thirst for glory and plunder be as fierce as our thirst for rum, that be fierce indeed - Ogaden1 point

Due to rising tensions in the Caribbean islands, national governments in Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua met with the Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord to request protection from hostile actions from world powers. Hereforth, the Allied States of America signs a Mutual Defense and Economic Pact to ensure to keep peace in the American continent. Defense: If Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador and/or Nicaragua is attacked or invaded by a world power, the Allied States will do everything in its power, militarily, diplomatically and/or economically to assist the nation under attack, while the other parties will assist with military assistance only. The Allied States of America's government will act solely on negotiations on behalf of these nations. Intelligence: If any intelligence is gained by any government, they are to share between each other with the exemption of the Allied States. The Allied States will only share intelligence that directly involves the members in this agreement. Economic Pact: Each nation shall have a free trade between eachother, forbidding import and export tariffs on businesses that operate and headquartered inside a member's borders. Any foreign nation that isnt apart of this agreement can and encouraged to be pay tariffs to encourage local businesses to flourish.1 point
