In-game Roleplay

Since I recently became a cult leader in game, I've been sending out a lot of recruitment letters. In character. And some people reacted in different ways, from sympathy and mild praise to interpreting it as a threat and threatening to bring in their friends to stop me. Reading that made me realize that there's probably a decent sized group of people in this game who don't roleplay, so now I'm curious. How hard do we roleplay our nations?

I tried to send RP recruitment messages at first and... total failure. Recruitment rate was extremely low and some became very confused.

Perhaps sadly the more direct and to the point is simply the way to go.

 

On these forums however when doing something Roz Wei related I do enjoy telling people of my infinite modesty.

I like to keep a nature-y/taxonomy theme to things (see: city names), but that's all I really have the interest of doing for the time-being.

 

I've always enjoyed a good theme on the alliance level, too. Making announcements for Rose when I was Emperor was a good time, because of all the creative writing one could do with the rose theme.

It doesn't really go beyond city/nation roleplay, although with some alliance stuff I may dip a little into roleplay.

Well I play Ansom; A leader who is a very unpredictable loose cannon, who can drive something to success if he puts his mind to it, but just as easily drive something into ground. An improvement from Anus Beadus; a guy who was very predictable, like pillaging nations, waging constant wars, starting alliances designed to crash and burn as well as go out with a huge bang, destroying alliances from the inside out, a very sketchy spy at times, decided to fuk with pirates out of sheer stupidity, and died due to "Unknown causes"

I'm not that big into RP anymore. I used to be but I found that the alliance parts were more fun than the RP parts. (I mean they can be interchangeable, but I'm speaking of nation RP more)

Without Roleplay, the Nestingland would be Kaputt. The nation simulation is basically a time-waster that occasionally sparks great RP fuel in a war or two.

I've never roleplayed as a sixth-century Byzantine general. For starters, I don't know medieval Greek. Aside from my nation name and city names, I don't bother roleplaying.
