  3. OWR's disbandment has as much to do with losing the war as the flavour of Cinnamon Toast Crunch has on whether or not I wear fishnet stockings to bed. We had some great times trying our best to ignore this game's toxicity but ultimately we'll be better off as a community ourselves without this game constantly throwing wrenches in our attempts to mind our own business. We played this game for many years and we pushed through far worse in-game situations than this, whether you liked us or not a well adjusted individual would be able to appreciate that this isn't just a random alliance disbanding after its first war. A large number of our members have already quit the game entirely, most likely a few more will as well over the coming weeks. To all the people saying crap like "Good", you're part of the problem. People mass-quitting the game should never be a positive thing to the people playing that game, diversity in ethos is what makes games like this work, without it you're just playing with the same awful war system over and over watching the numbers go up and down. The game isn't special, all the best parts of it happen outside of the game between the people that play it. It's a vehicle for personal interactions and the construction of stories and it can fulful that role very well when people respect the fact that behind the facade is a group of actual human beings which have understandably developed a strong connection with each other and with the concept of their alliance over the many years it existed. We've seen kids go from school to university to owning their own houses within the lifespan of OWR, we've had people get married, have children, have their lives fall apart and rebuild them again, within the lifespan of our alliance and OWR was a rock through all of it because no matter how the real world treated you, you could log on to Discord and the game, and you'd be amongst friends. Regardless of your feelings about us, how we conducted ourselves or how we played the game, anyone who doesn't see the tragedy in the loss of that is a sociopath.

  4. I'm exhausted so I quit my alliance and formed one to create a space for other burned out people. It's rather freeform so I'll figure out later if anything else will be done with it, but at this time Hospice as the name implies is a place for the dying (inside) join if you want or don't. do what you want.

  5. The Circus is in town and The Knights Radiant have season passes! Unfortunately, we’ve noticed the way the animals are being treated and we’re not big fans. After consulting with PETA, we’ve determined the best path forward is to politely carpet bomb ask The Circus to leave. Unfortunately, the clowns only speak Romanian. So we have our cans of faux-blood, our spray paint, and picket signs at the ready — we’re going to war protest the treatment of these poor animals. The lions and tigers and blinks bears! Oh my! Tl;dr: TKR recognizes The Circus recognizing us

  7. By gud, you mean use your alt to buy your main account cities? Is it not bad enough that you scammed your entire alliance to build yourself, now you are just blatantly cheating to do it instead? I do approve of the new city name, I always enjoy getting free real estate in people's heads.

  8. The true USN has finally risen to take their rightful place. All of Orbis shakes in fear for who knows what United Sovereign Nations will do to throw the balance of power out the window. We must all pray that we do not fall victim to these powerful players. Good luck have fun!

  13. My general opinion is to allow as much free speech as possible. That said, we do not allow anything terrorism related as a matter of national security, and we do not allow anything nazi related as I personally find Nazism abhorrent, as well as the fact that it is very much not tolerated in (colloquially American) society. I have no interest in fostering an online community for white supremacists here, which is why we explicitly root out and forbid them. Some things may be offensive, and I suppose depending on context someone calling someone else a "Tojo" in a pejorative manner would fall under our rules against flaming, trolling, name-calling, etc. but I don't see how just using "Tojo" as your own leader name in-game is violating our rules. If the player were advocating or roleplaying war crimes, etc., we would absolutely take action.

  14. TKR supports Peta?!?!?! 😲 🤮 Although this explains your Syndi treaty alot more.

  15. I don't know if that's possible but that would indeed be pretty awesome, for a multitude of reasons. Would theoretically also have a side benefit of making the forums more accessible to players, especially new ones.

  23. Tanks, planes, ships aren't 3 days like soldiers fyi, so you'd still be able to get air superiority, ground control and a blockade. You mentioned your enemy has no dockyards, so you can just naval beige them faster, since they wont be able to get an IT on ground with a double buy (assuming you have military). Also, on a new 800 infra city, your enemy wont have the population to do a full buy. Anyway, just be in an alliance and get counters on your pirate friend, ezpz.

  24. "The War in our Times Agreement" Preamble: In the interest of war and mutual engagement, the two parties of Clock and the Back Rooms enter into this agreement. Recognizing that at this time there is no Casus Pax between the two parties and as such in an effort to avoid a needless and causeless peace, the two parties agree to enter into a mutual agreement of remilitarization. Article 1: The two parties, effective of the update of today, May 26th, in game time will militarize to the following MMR: 5/5/5/3 with the option for voluntary but not required 10 nukes per city based on the individual alliance's standard peacetime MMR. Article 2: Nations below c10 whose primary income source is raiding will not be affected by the limit of barracks in the standard MMR of this agreement and will be allowed a MMR of 5/3/5/0 or 5/3/5/1. Article 3: During this period of remilitarization in the face of the current ongoing global conflict, the parties pledge to come to the aid of the other if one party comes under the attack of a sphere. Article 4: This agreement will expire once the current spheres not engaged in hostility have rebuilt military and returned to a standard wartime MMR. 27. After seeing a very cringe post today begging for the war to be over by some noobs after only a few days of fighting I wish for you all to sign a counter pledge on this document. We will try to do the maximum amount of damage possible, we will swear away all pixel hugging, We shall endeavor to fight against the evil of pixel hugging in all its form, and we shall endeavor to keep this war longer longer than 2/3 weeks. If you agree with the above statements sign your name on the doc.

  34. Happy to see people are generally okay with this given I proposed it a few months ago. (And to those wondering, this doesn't mean we aren't talking about the other more important changes atm lol, just they take a lot more time to come to consensus on) This 100%, even if traders can semi-script that cancel as well that's still 1) Even more of a reason to have this, and 2) Adds an additional decision to make when cancelling anyways. Although plenty of traders do sit for hours at a time and trade (and I used to too way back in like 2015 when scripts weren't even created yet) Also agree with this 100% and have actually already proposed this in the dev team as well Also, re: captcha discussion, does anyone know what the captcha rules actually are for trading pages? I don't ever get them, but apparently some other people I talk to do, so idk how it's applied realy.

  35. This is already the case, but the problem persists since someone can, for example, post 5 offers to sell 20k lead at 5 different prices, giving the impression there is 100k lead to sell on the market (exercising downward pressure on prices) even though they only have 20k of it on hand. I don't see how that's dumb. If traders are able to spend so much time spamming away trades by undercutting the market continuously, surely they can afford the time required to delete an old trade. And I say this as someone who does a fair amount of trading. I do like your proposal of the pop-up screen and agree that would be ideal but I also get the feeling it would be more complicated to code than the solution the dev team is currently contemplating.

  36. The ink wasn't even dried, yet. Peace was a fresh prospect for most, yet, we weren't satisfied. We gazed to the horizon, and saw the largest flower imaginable; over 1,000,000 in score! Why stop now, when time is on our side? This Declaration of War serves as the last Global War of 2021. With this said, Clock is officially declaring war against Rose. 1,000,000 is just too much score, and it's time to lower it. Signed, Clock

  40. We didn't stay mil'd up because it benefits us more to be able to reap the economic benefits of being demil'd. Given the past actions of Clock chaining, we decided to enter into this agreement to manage the risks of Clock trying to chain. This is an insurance policy. Insurance protects you from risk. The vast majority of adults willingly pay for insurance even if they never have to make a claim. I have not said we're the victims. Nor do I think Clock is the "bad" guy. I do not see the world in such a black and white manner. I know that Clock is unhappy with this move. Your unhappiness with this move is valid, even if you are distorting my character.

  41. I'm happy to see the hypothetical wars you chose are at least ones Clock would actually take. They like fighting as long as it's an easy kill. And that's why I liked this thread, because after you all spent the announcement one masturbating about how cool, dynamic and risk-taking you are, you came here to explain that actually the "big-norm breaking risk we knew would have extenuating consequences wasn't actually ours because big evil Syndi man practically forced us at gunpoint!!!!" I mean it's ok I didn't take your nonsense seriously to begin with, it's just funnier seeing the mask fall. "Ohhhh but even with HoF we don't think we coulda wonnnn no chance" I mean even despite tiering data not agreeing with that... Aren't y'all the supposed risk-taking innovators? Grow a fricking pair and make a chance. My preferred strategy for Duck Hunt involved mass media disinformation so that a demilled Quack got slapped by a milled HM alone that used it's tiering advantage and military in conjunction with tiers being pretty much hard-locked to still be able to win a 1:3 aggressive blitz, and hold them down. But see, that never saw the light of day because Lefty told me no one would even consider such a thing. Too dangerous. Even though the math actually reflected it was very possible, it was also very difficult and very dangerous, and you people only have the stomach to take fake risks where you know you're gonna win or where you're gonna suck yourself off about how cool you are for mass-raiding rose and getting slaughtered pointlessly or whatever. The idea any of you are "risk-takers" is laughable to me, but then I go risking permaban to fight the hegemons while you cry on forums and smack around people who had no chance to please yourself. Look, just, next time you're gonna reap the extenuating consequences I got told would make considering most of my ideas too dangerous, maybe at least have the decency to actually be half as cool and dangerous as one of the more mild ones? At least id feel like you were trying. This weird virtue signaling is getting old, and it's telling that the most interesting thing to happen in 2 years isn't one of your stupid "lul totally dynamic fun wars" but is an announcement by two spheres saying they're not fighting. All those threads about wars being boring and meaningless have been totally vindicated because the last time there was nearly 20 pages of discussion on anything was pre NPOLT days.
