  1. That requires an awful lot of assumptions on your part, all of them wrong. In the end, the shitheap community is why we're leaving. There are good people, yes, but as a rule it's a toxic mess, a cursory scan of OWF will tell you all you ever need to know.
  2. Hey look there he goes again. "Just having fun" "Trolling". Classic. Tell me more about how I'm not allowed to talk in my disbandment thread but you're entitled to do this all day? I've got time to chat, no big deal. And yeah you can fabricate reasons for our disbandment if you want, it's no longer any concern of ours. I'm happy to continue this engaging conversation as long as you like babe, I've already gotten way more out of you than I'd dared dream.
  3. By your own admission you're just playing a game and having fun, and by your own admission you just came of your own volition to our disbandment thread at a deeply sad moment for all of us to make a "slightly negative comment" which is proof enough of the type of person you are. As for me being triggered, I'm as within my rights to respond to you as you are to continually keep returning yourself even though I haven't once quoted you, you've received no notifications and yet you keep coming back. Keep projecting and deflecting mate it suits your type perfectly.
  4. That's what I thought. Take no responsibility for the things you do and ignore the impact your actions have on everyone else. I knew you'd prove me right in the end, you lot always do. Cheers.
  5. Why, oh why, would I want to engage with people like you mate? You're just another self-disproving example of the reason we made this decision. We don't have to justify anything regarding why we quit, but it's not because it got a bit tough. We've been through worse before and carried on. We're just calling it quits now because we're done with it all. The fact you can't accept that without spewing vitriol is a perfect example of the problem, that too many people can't see beyond the myopic lens of their own narrow perspective of what is and isn't acceptable and to understand that not everyone enjoys what they enjoy, not everyone wants what they want, and that without a diverse range of people playing, this game will stagnate. The rampant narcissism, self-righteousness and blatant self-delusion doesn't help either.
  6. We love you too Zygon, it has been a pleasure. Until next time.
  7. Keep going mate, you'll get there
  8. Don't flatter yourself, that was a general statement made to the community at large. Thank you for proving my point.
  9. OWR's disbandment has as much to do with losing the war as the flavour of Cinnamon Toast Crunch has on whether or not I wear fishnet stockings to bed. We had some great times trying our best to ignore this game's toxicity but ultimately we'll be better off as a community ourselves without this game constantly throwing wrenches in our attempts to mind our own business. We played this game for many years and we pushed through far worse in-game situations than this, whether you liked us or not a well adjusted individual would be able to appreciate that this isn't just a random alliance disbanding after its first war. A large number of our members have already quit the game entirely, most likely a few more will as well over the coming weeks. To all the people saying crap like "Good", you're part of the problem. People mass-quitting the game should never be a positive thing to the people playing that game, diversity in ethos is what makes games like this work, without it you're just playing with the same awful war system over and over watching the numbers go up and down. The game isn't special, all the best parts of it happen outside of the game between the people that play it. It's a vehicle for personal interactions and the construction of stories and it can fulful that role very well when people respect the fact that behind the facade is a group of actual human beings which have understandably developed a strong connection with each other and with the concept of their alliance over the many years it existed. We've seen kids go from school to university to owning their own houses within the lifespan of OWR, we've had people get married, have children, have their lives fall apart and rebuild them again, within the lifespan of our alliance and OWR was a rock through all of it because no matter how the real world treated you, you could log on to Discord and the game, and you'd be amongst friends. Regardless of your feelings about us, how we conducted ourselves or how we played the game, anyone who doesn't see the tragedy in the loss of that is a sociopath.
  10. Welcome to the clubhouse, snacks are provided at 13pm, we celebrate our anniversary on the 32nd of January. Please note that no violence is permitted during Fight Club.
  11. I pledge my sword to the banner of the King in the North, Zygon Stark. By the old gods and the new, down with the tyranny of the Squeegee with honor, loyalty, and direwolves for all.
  12. Additionally, a confirmation message similar to the relatively new one you get when posting a trade offer would be great. "You are sending X to Y NATION" "You are sending Z to X ALLIANCE".
  13. Here's to four more incredibly regrettable, hilarious, unforgettable, unfortunate, fantastic and enjoyable years.
  14. If you think Coal and Oil need to be more powerful to keep up with uranium power then I think you're missing the point. Nuclear power is meant to be better than coal and oil power. Uranium's only function is nuclear power and nuclear missiles. Aside from randomly being required for certain projects, anyway. Nuclear power is far more expensive to build as well. The issue you're really having here is that you're seeing uranium is cheaper than coal and oil and thinking that means coal and oil should provide more power, but power is only an ancillary and inefficient use of those resources by design, meant to tide you over until you reach the better option. Uranium is cheap because it's more or less useless by comparison, after all coal and oil are used to produce steel and gasoline which are widely used in loads of different things.
  15. To make managing alliance finances easier and more readable, it would be great if there were a couple of small additions to the Taxes and Tax Records screens. For example: Show the total income last turn/day to the alliance bank, bonus points if it shows you the last few turns/days for comparison, double bonus points if there's one of those fancy graphs that show how your income has varied over time. This will make adjusting tax rates to suit the situation easier, as well as keeping you informed as to the overall impact of events such as members going grey or leaving the AA, plus it'll make me feel all fuzzy inside to see how we're improving. Show the current per turn/day value of a tax rate on a given nation when you're selecting a tax bracket for them, will help make educated decisions regarding the impact a particular tax bracket might have on members. I know this has been suggested before, but as an addition to the above point, being able to assign brackets to multiple individual players at once (and see the relative impacts via the suggestion above) would make managing taxes during rebuild phases a million times easier. Let me set tax brackets for an arbitrary range of city counts. Instead of "All 20 city nations" let me input two numbers. "All nations with 15-20 cities". I'm aware much of this can be accomplished with a spreadsheet or a calculator, but let's not make me have to bust out Excel or Google Sheets just to see how much stuff the bank is pulling in from members. I feel like these are pretty inoffensive additions that can only really help.
