Swamp and Arrgh find common ground The open seas have fallen silent for weeks now. Sunlight broke through the thunderheads above and glinted on the ship's cannons. Sure raids were common, but our combat had never before been on the scale seen here. A rallying cry went out to The Ampersand's allies, Arrgh was raiding their coasts. The pirates and their bloodlust was growing and we had to stop them. Our coalition launched every ship we had in defense for The Swamp. We fought for every inch. Stalemate, one step forward, one step back. A costly and senseless war. When we look back upon this war we will still feel pride, pride in our bravery and comradery. We call an end to this conflict, neither side victorious, nor a loser. Peace with honor has been reached, and although raiding will no doubt continue, Tomorrow the Swamp is returning home while the pirates turn to other shores. No mil= no raids = no pirating. And pirates have no commerce so perma-blockades + zero mil = no money. So it appears we can stop you from achieving your goals. Your whole alliance has 4 nukes left and almost no money to make more. The part of the war where Arrgh can fight back is coming to a close. You can pretend these are regular counters but they're not.

They don't. Everything after this will just be regular old raiding, but Arrgh is by no means signing a formal obligation here.

This exactly. This is the kind of balance thing that everyone has a vested interest in. I don't think we should get a say since the community will be divided based on what benefits them. Which is dumb, I think. People should be voting for what benefits the whole game. But I know that's an unrealistic expectation.

Hello, Who here. I blundered into this game about 9 days ago and got kidnapped by an alliance that still won't tell me their name. They are good people though, so what's in a name? I am married with 2 kids (4 and 2 years old), and I have been playing browser/mmo games since around 2007. I also play PS4, as I type this introduction I am crawling through a Skyrim dungeon. I can see that there are years of history in this game. I would love to hear any stories you have of years past. The community is the best part of mmo games, and I look forward to joining the community.

Perhaps 2 or 3 per resource type. Would avoid seeing this: Alternatively, if we could render certain players invisible, basically like embargoing someone, just making them invisible instead, would also work, though would basically mean a lot of people have to do that in order to avoid seeing the offers of 1 or 2 people.

Peace time is the time you use to prepare your nation for the next war, so if you or your alliance is properly run, you should already be prepared for a post war rebuild before you hit the declare war button. (this is one of the reasons people like NAPs because everyone is paranoid they are going to get hit right after they rebuild, which would probably cripple them, as they just spend a large portion of their savings on rebuilding) But they dont contradict each other, because I dont support going to war over trivial game mechanics, I think its dumb, I do support going to war to help your allies, or help ensure your security, which are Political reasons. To sum up what I am saying is, you dont need to build in mechanics in the game to force conflict, because wars are too expensive to fight over a few billion dollars. But at the same time, your alliance should be run well enough that if you do find yourself in a war, post war rebuild should be pretty easy.

I was thinking 5, but ultimately it's up to Alex. EDIT: It's my hope we do one of these almost every global, so even if one you like doesn't get put on this war, there will be more chances!

People do this sort of thing to try and get people to post lower bids, or to drive the average price down. I honestly don't mind it, but I can see how some people could. If this thread gets some heavy traction I'll look at adding it to the QoL list for the next update.

I see absolutely no issue with missiles doing guaranteed resistance damage. Anything that makes it harder to sit on people is a positive in my book, just fantastic if people have to beige their opponents in order to not get beiged by missiles themselfes.

"Poaching" is not real and not a CB. If you can't keep your own members engaged and interested, that's your problem. Weak alliances blame others when their members leave.

All you need to do to fix the problem is fix the exploit that allows offshore banks to be unraidable.

I'm way too late to this, but I really really wanted to give some input on this. 1. Trump definitely incited insurrection. Incited insurrection does not mean "KILL ALL THE PEOPLE IN THE CAPITOL", it means "if you don't fight like hell you're not going to have a country anymore," “When you catch somebody in a fraud, you’re allowed to go by very different rules;” and “You’ll never take back our country with weakness.” Trump encouraged unlawful behavior, and his rhetoric gave rioters the moral justification to storm the Capitol. In fact, many supporters were heard by journalists saying "This is what Trump wants" Regardless of whether he explicitly stated it, the fact that his words convinced people to riot is proof of his guilt. 2. Antifa has nothing to do with the riots, that's complete bullshit. However, they are still criminals so don't forget that. 3. Trump is also to blame for anti-mask sentiment, I'm sick and tired of people downplaying the virus. Trump's words personally insult anyone who has lost loved ones to this disease, and those who follow him are guilty of the same. I don't know about the double standards that you were talking about, but just because they did it doesn't mean you can too. Anyone who justifies the guilty is also guilty. 4. All extremists are bad, who gives a shit what ideology they are? What really matters is that Nazis, Communists, Anarchists, Antifa, QAnon, 3 Percenters, and Proud Boys are all lunatics who only bring negatives to our society. 5. BLM riots are organized to be peaceful, and are ruined by those who are only there to loot and destroy. If the connection you're making is that California and New York are more "socialist", that would also be inaccurate. Socialism is not when the government does more stuff (Again, look at anarchist groups like the Zapatistas). The Democrats are often derided as socialists, when they have similar business motivations to the Republican party. The Democratic platform does not advocate the abolition of capitalism, but merely a higher minimum wage and more protections. While this sounds like a transition to communist wants, it is not - Democrats also advocate laws such as New York's Taylor Law, which bans strikes in favour of mandated collective bargaining. Democrats promote social equality not because it is the "morally right" thing to do, but because inequality "hurts business". They use identity politics as an argument for it hurting the economy, not people's lives. Look how hard mainline Democrats fought against Bernie Sanders in the primary - a self-described social democrat who also disavowed socialism!

So uh, Trump just vetoed the $600 stimulus. Not for the reason you'd think he, a Republican, would. He vetoed the stimulus because he feels it should be higher, at $2000 per person. I'm as diehard anarchist as they come. I believe that all states should collapse into horizontal and democratic local governments. I believe Trump is the worst of a bad line of imperialist, warmongering Presidents who abuse the office to give tax cuts to the bourgoise class. But i'm actually on his side for once - he actually managed to support something that lefties and progressives have been pushing for. Feels straight out of Castle Itter. To be fair... the United States is not Canada, nor any other westernized nation, and we do not harbor the same philosophies as others either. We are a lot more individualist than just about every other western nation, ergo, we do not support welfare states. in my opinion the current American welfare should be scrapped and redone to be more strict and very individualist/specific.
