  1. LOOKING DEEP: TKR Welcome! To "Looking Deep"! "Looking Deep" is an sort of experiment I thought about a second ago, and one that I thought would be fun to try out. The premise of this, is a sort of thread for the members and ex members of the specified alliance to tell their story in it, and I thought the best way to start this off, is by selecting one of the most active communities in the game, TKR! Just a bit of backstory, if you are a newer player such as myself. I'm going to start at the "Trial of Tiers" because that's were I started off, and I don't want to fumble around, I'll leave that to those who reply to this thread ? Community From the time I began this game, to now, I always look at the community (Salty as it may be at times) to be the best part of this game, some people may agree or not, but that is my solid belief. Being that the community is such an important part, the first time I had seen TKR, it had seemed they had very much enshrined that belief into their alliance to make it a whole new community in itself, basically a family of sorts, if you will. I wouldn't shy away from saying that The Knights Radiant is one of, the most friendly, welcoming and active alliances out there, they also have a very important skill, that a lot of alliances ignore, welcoming newer players, making them feel at home, liked, etc. Welcoming newer players is such an important skill, I'm going to go on a bit of a rant because of how much it is. A lot of alliance forget about newer players, and have the mindset of "Hand them a guide and order them around" , a lot of newer players may shy away from conversation with older players, to not look silly in front of people that are more experienced, but alliances that deal with this, truly benefit the game, nurturing a newer player, and inviting them into conversation, playing games with them, or whatever is an absolutely crucial part of keeping this game alive, and most importantly having fun, especially with those new friends you have made. It might be a silly thing to say, but a loneliness of a player, a person whose joined for the game, but left because he has been shut out, is hard to see. A lot older players tend to see newer players as a obstacle in front of their "Next city" or "Progress" but those players have no idea what those new players mean to the game as a whole. They are the next generation, per se, and they should be supported. Hats off to most alliances, and very well done to those who help introduce newer players to their community and the P&W community as a whole. Anyway, that paragraph is meant to underline the importance of it, and in my opinion TKR is absolutely great at it, all the people are friendly, you can randomly chat to someone and they'll kindly do the same back to you, it is a very warm atmosphere, a sense of importance. Which, is very much so, the greatest trait in this game that an alliance could have. History TKR, is based off of a book by Brandon Sanderson, named "The Stormlight Archive", I can't say much about the beginning so as I've previously stated, I will move onto more familiar territory. Before Knightfall, TKR was an absolute powerhouse, perhaps not necessarily in military might, which was certainly a big stick they held, but in influence. TKR absolutely dominated world affairs, and that is not overestimating the history of it, TKR had been known as "The world police" for it's past actions, dealing with the Hogwarts-Sparta war, chasing down Partisan, etc, whatever was going on in the world, one way or another, they were certainly involved be it big or small. A lot of that can be seen to have started from Trial of Tiers, because of how much of an impact it had on very influential alliances, Mensa disbanding, t$ losing influence, certainly the rise of TKR as a truly alliance shifting power cannot have started if it had not become the dominant leader of Easy mode and certainly the loss of two Behemoths helped make that a reality, but the end of that era swiftly came around with Knightfall, beating TKR harder and giving them a loss that I would think would be hard to forget, the Chaos sphere, proved to be the evidence that TKR needed new allies, and also that it had lost the near Hegemonic power that it once held. It also hit TKR from 1st in the alliance leaderboards, doesn't seem important but new players sometimes choose the strongest alliance, learning from the best. Conclusion Now that you have either been thoroughly bored to death, or has even chosen to skip the whole segment above, for how possibly face palming my knowledge of it is. Please at least stay for this, if you are a member, leader, ex member of TKR then it would be great for you to share that story on this thread, your experience in the alliance, and for older players, possibly sharing interesting segments of your history. If this gets any if at all, positive review, I'll try to do another alliance of which I am interested in. Thank you! And If you do take a little bit of your time off, I appreciate it very much. this was not based on discord or slack because of micchan's absolute distaste for them if you go blind by reading this i bare no responsibility

  2. Well, I made it through 27 pages. Something about TKR and NPO or something. I think i saw the word "obfuscated". I don't know what that means but i like it in theory and i'm immediately going to buy two of them. The constitution of the United States of America is 4,543 words but this is definitely better.

  3. TKR is not only the best alliance in the game, but the active community is the greatest any simulation game alliance has to offer. There really isn't any other alliance that can compare to TKR and although I am a bit bias about their leadership (with Lordship being the best) leadership within TKR sets the standard of quality throughout Politics & War. Put clearly, if you dislike TKR or don't have the same opinion - you're probably racist, own slaves, and hate Politics & War. Paid for by the committee to keep TKR on Top.

  4. TKR has, hands down, the best community in the game. There is always someone hanging around willing to chat with you (usually a bunch of people are around) and it makes for a great time. One of the main reasons I joined was the promise of aid, guides, and mentors, and I'm pleased to say they followed through on that promise. Despite me constantly asking what to do, is this a good strategy, etc, they never got annoyed and were always happy to help me learn the ropes. I highly recommend TKR as an alliance for new and old players alike.

  6. It's okay to believe what one wants to believe. It's also okay to fight against them. True freedom allows one to have their own views, however be expected to defend yourself from those with opposing views. As someone who's had family killed by both Fascists and Communists during the war, I personally dislike their views. I do believe however people can express them.

  7. Just saw this, but NPO essentially has my thoughts, albeit less skeptical then my own. No one does anything in this game that doesn't put them further ahead. Those who champion "mini-spheres" or decry how we harm "game health" have an obvious benefit from whatever virtue they extoll.

  8. TKR is a very welcoming alliance. I joined their discord server and Mitsuru knew I was KT from the get-go. I have never felt more welcome except when I joined the Pantheon discord server. If you were to give a theme song to TKR it would be the Cheers Intro Theme Song, because everyone is glad you came. I would classify TKR as a soul food, a good vegetable, and quite possibly thicc in the heart. And while being thicc in the heart is a medical condition that can have debilitating defects, you could not classify TKR as having a debilitating defect, unless of course you believed that too much love is debilitating. I believe without an objective doubt that TKR is the right place for you. tl;dr orange alliance good...?

  9. I'm relatively new to tkr and this game (only 111 days in the alliance and 114 days in game). But I must agree with what you said, regardless of your opinion of how TKRs attitudes to other alliances or whatever it is the most socially active and community driven alliance. You are welcomed and introduced to the alliance from the beginning and are taught the ins and outs of the game, supported throughout and are asked to contribute to anything and everything if you can and want to and even when I have felt like I messed up the alliance doesn't treat you like shit or anything (unless you really messed up and disobeyed direct orders I guess) they encourage you to look at how and why the mistakes happened and how to move on and build upon it so it doesn't happen again. If it whernt for the TKR community I would probably not be playing this game tbh.

  26. I mean this explains a lot. I think as a general rule this is true, but if you treat it like an absolute then I can totally see where your paranoia is coming from. I could also see this being true if you meant that having fun was an obvious benefit, but I don't think that's what you mean. It was pretty clear that many of us just didn't have fun being the hegemonic power else EMC would still be ruling the game.

  28. The Order of the fallen angel peaces out of the war. We are a small alliance, created not that long ago, and we did our possible. But this was our first war, and I’m proud that we were part of it. We finished in the negatives. Enemies mocked us, and a lot of members asked me to leave the war sooner. But we didn’t fall apart. We stood up, as the beautiful alliance that we are. For the people wondering why did NPO attack us, it was because of beiges. Some members were beiging too much, and other alliances had enough. We totally understand their decision, and we solved the problem. The Dial Up War teached us a lot. -What to do during wartime, and what not to -Who we can beige, and who we can’t -What are my responsibilities as a leader, and when do I decide that we fought enough We will not send war aid to Coalition B. We will not declare on a KERCHTOGG alliance (except if it’s just a raid, because that can happen whenever). We will not help Coalition B in any other way, but we wish them good luck And good luck to KERCHTOGG too. We had fun fighting you, and it was a pleasure to be on the same battlefield as some of these alliances (that goes for Coalition B too). OFA members will finish their current wars, but they won’t start new ones. We are not part of the war anymore, and we’d like KERCHTOGG to not declare on us, as we are doing the same.and I wanna think the people who was loyal to OFA the best. The end.

  29. I honestly thought you where just ignore me lol. So I'm going to guess nothing big to add to Keshav's post, then? I do get the idea that everyone wants something. That's the nature of politics. Always has been and always will be. Everyone wants to be in a better spot than they were yesterday. But from what I gathered BK/NPO have the same relationship with one another as everyone accuses everyone else of having with everyone else. Would you guys consider yourselves the counter to this "ruling class"? Would you just be a rival 'Ruling Class"? Like is this just shaping up to a War of the Roses for the rest of Orbis history? House of Lancaster vs. House of York style? But in that same regard, calling someone out for pulling the same thing over and over again and then, from the information I've gathered, doing the same thing with BK is a little hypocritical. Just from the myriad of posts from a myriad of leaders here in this topic and elsewhere on the forums I've been able to see and read multiple chances given to NPO to be included in on something, but the response was... less than what was expected I suppose? And it's mostly met with cries of conspiracy or paranoia. Even this here about constantly being on the chopping block as one of the top alliances in Orbis slightly smells of some paranoia. I can't say delusion because from what I can tell someone is always next in line to be rolled somewhere down the line. TKR in Knightfall, apparently, CHaOS in Surf's Up, and now BK for leaked logs about smacking ChaOS. I've only been involved in the last two. It seemed like people were more unwilling to work with whatever IQ was than anything actually NPO or BK on their own. And given the supposed split of IQ and the feeling towards the (blob?), I can see where people would be absolutely livid with seeing the reunion tour in this war. I've seen less opinions on working with BK because, they aren't the vocal-est on the forums in these drawn out, lengthy posts. Accusations of hegemonic movements, from either side, give me a headache. I'd just. Just no. No amount of words will convince me one way or the other. Actions will. Once this whole thing is over, the dust settles, and the time to march home happens, we'll see who still stands as a unified army and who moves the frick on. I'm sure it will make for some fricking great political fodder, and I'm excited to see what happens. Where was Roq before he became emperor? Or did he seem to just bust out on the scene in a blaze of glory to take the reigns? How about the rest of the high gov. Surely they had some experiences elsewhere before becoming High gov of one of the largest alliances in the game? Or where they too just prodigies of their time? How is that different than the kettogg situation you described bellow? I'm not exactly saying it's technically a grouse, but it's strange to call someone else a ruling class when you're on the same level as them, even if you haven't "taken a seat at the same table" with them. But by and by, your description of Kettogg leadership tells me they've moved around through different government positions, even breaking out of old government positions to take on new responsibilities, or less responsibilities. And Really, it looked like with the formation of IQ, y'all had your own table to be at. Just looking at the wiki, with a lot of names I recognize with even just being around a shorter while. And then BK absorbed some of the alliances in mergers. But, You admit you maintained a great relationship with a member of IQ that you supposedly cut ties with, which is not wrong in any shape or form, you find out who your friends are I suppose, and then when they light be beacons of Gondor, you once again run in and help them fight like the split never happened. Just from my perspective ignoring anything else, it feels a little disingenuous. I've seen either you or someone else from NPO post about the idea that they couldn't just sit idly by and watch BK get killed or something along those lines. Do you guys honestly believe this would have merked BK for good? Not to mention, there can be multiple ruling classes in one game. Claiming one side to be the "Ultimate Ruling Class" like they're all some Machiavellian Villains is; one: I being a High Gov Member in Val, to me a massive compliment, I love love LOVE playing a villain, two: definitely fits into your narrative of not having any trust in their words (More below on that). This right here I find hilariously hypocritical as a statement. By that definition of argument and the statement above it stating you've always had great relationship with Leo, you should have just resigned BK or never dissolved the treaty to begin with. You maintained a relationship that was not too far away to decay, but not too close for the optics, and yet you decry the very thing. It took the heat off you and placed it on BK, especially after the leak, to not be tied to them and to sign t$, but it seems when the fires got too heavy you had to come help put them out. So, why dissolve the treaty in the first place if your stance is "if you have a relationship, sign a treaty and be done with it" then you're not taking your own advice and breaking with BK under the pretenses of "trying something new" while maintaining this relationship is just in the same school of thought as them. From what I've gathered though, people had more faith in you when the ties between you and BK broke but simply because of NPO's baseless, from the lack of actual proof, fear that they where next decided to show their cards. I mean. It's all wildly head-spinning to me to cry out that everyone else is doing the same old thing again and again while yinz do the same old thing again and again. You had a chance to show that you had an iota of faith in others, to prove them wrong, because from forum posts alone people suspected you'd be right into the fray, but you did the opposite. Trust begets trust. It all does feel to me like old grudges are wounds that NPO just wont let heal. I think any form of game play in this type of sim is going to rely more on trust than anything else. Whether is bi-polarity or mini-spheres, there is going to have to be some sort of understanding reached between sides or group of sides. If NPO doesn't have faith in anyone but BK, really, then you're not doing anything really dynamic. Most of what I've seen from NPO is "Well, you guys didn't really want to bring us to the table, despite offering the chair, it was just a plot to stab us based on these events in the past." And then "Well, we've never been in the ruling class because they wont let us be at the table with them and that makes us not trust them." It's a bit circular logic. But I mean, all we've ever done on these forums from what I can see is go around the same roundabout at full speed.

  37. Please, inform me more of what was happening internally in my alliance at that time. I've forgotten all about it, see, and I need someone to fill me in. Nuke Bloc was TCL's war and he'd be sad to see you trying to rob him of the credit for his only war. KETOGG was trying to set a different precedent for wars. We made the decision to roll with it because we were going to be at war regardless at that point and trying to make the best of it sounded like a better time than arguing on the forums. My only action before Knightfall was the KT/TGH war and I have it on good authority the war planning started prior to that. My actions might have reinforced some people's mindsets but it wasn't the motivator for Knightfall as a whole and, as you've confirmed, it wasn't your motivator for joining. As for the victim stuff, I could comb through and find a half dozen examples easily to back that up. "Your side has all the active/good players", "your side has all the old connections", "no one wanted to play with us", etc, etc. You continually try and cast off the issues you face onto anyone but you. Your shortcomings and your problems are not due to us.

  42. Vacation mode exists. Furthermore, my alliance does not suffer this. They go inactive when they're held down and come back right after. Infact this is true of most alliances on both sides, last i checked. Let's not pretend having 80% of ones alliance sporting purple diamonds is just par for the course because it's summer. It's not. It's par for the course for alliances that are either dead or very near it. And? Here's the thing, he can talk about what he's learned from it, but that's all quite useless if one doesn't accept the actual situation they're in. Considering the further messes of crap Amon stirred up, like all those wonderful leaks of him practically about to start attacking his own coalition, what pride is there to have?
    1 point
  43. hahahaha! Ok, ok, sorry for making you mad. I hadn't realized your entire politics and war decisions were based on how people treat TKR. An obsession indeed. At least it is clear now. In any case, with that last statement you make: 1. Either you say you are not planning to fight anyone else except for TKR, so you will never work with people that have "positive relations with them"... 2. or you are stating you will never work with an alliance that has positive relations with alliances that you may fight in the future (which is anyone but BK/Polaris?)... I see. Maybe that's why you cannot work with anyone, as you complain, no? The filters you got there are... quite strict. ----------------------------------------------------------- You are right, it wasn't Malal. The first mentions in the coalition channel about a PoW where from... Oh, Thanos and Keshav. Totally not IQ. I hope I don't have to elaborate on this? You can also see Revan's statement about "closing the gap between ourselves and TKR" specifically. As I said, TKR is your obsession, not mine. My "obsession" would be the whales, most of which were hardly in TKR. -------------------------------------------------------------- So, let me get this straight and don't even think about dodging this one. Are you implying that Chaos formed with TKR keeping its ties with Guardian and/or GOB or CoS having ties to Guardian/GOB? Because that's the only way I can see cancelling upper tier domination/protection. I won't focus on the "doesn't count part", because I am speechless on that one. xD It's wonderful how you contradict yourself though. Here you state that "there wasn't enough buy-in to steam roll mid-tier alliances". Yet, your whole rhetoric is about Chaos combining forces with KETOG to "steam roll" poor mid-tier alliances (the BK-blob in this case). And, on the other hand, you state that NPO had to intervene because the war was not balanced, and BK-blob had a huge disadvantage! So, which is it, Roq? Was there enough buy-in? There wasn't? If Chaos/KETOG were working together from the beginning and were keeping the high-tier safe, why didn't they attack the BK-blob at full force before... you know... blowing each other's military up? It's not 1/18. It's 1/28. War officially ended 3 days later, with the other side having accepted most terms already earlier than that (and the result of the war being obvious even earlier than that). ----------------------------------------------------------------- You stopped working with me 2 months before the formation of Chaos. So, stop lying and saying that you didn't want to work with me on February because I would form Chaos on April. This is the third post you repeat yourself like this with a statement that makes zero sense. Unless you really are a prophet. As I said, you didn't want to work with me, even in a short-term arrangement (although you were more than happy to do so pre-war). Thus, I was free to do whatever I wanted after February, with you having cut all communications. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Roq... The only old boy with power in this war is you. I have engaged in politics and alliances for less than a year. Adrienne is a young leader too. BK has changed 2-3 leaders during the 3 years I've been playing. If the problem is really old boys... ... maybe you should retire and get some new blood take over and open up new paths that are not based on strange obsessions about specific alliances. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Then... why did TEst/CoS start Knightfall, Roq? Why didn't we sign them to stay safe and dominate the upper tier forever!? I cannot even fathom how you believe other people think like this. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- In any case, the hard truth for you is that there have been two wars that prove the conflict between upper tier alliances. Knightfall and the Chaos/KETOG war. These are actions. You can try to paint all of our leaders as evil plotters and talk about motives, relations, motivations, plans, you can look for and post logs all you want, you can talk about semantics, IFs, secret discussions, deals under the table, you can try to spin our declarations and analyse each and every word we use and paint it as you want, BUT... but the hard truth for you is that these don't matter. Actions talk bigger than assumptions and conspiracy theories. And for our case, we have two wars to mention. On the other hand... why should the rest of the world believe you! You have only words to back this up. No actions. You had one chance to prove that IQ really didn't exist and just blew it in this war. Maybe next time! See, I can play your game too. Look at some nice "arguements". Please try to address them: > IQ never split because NPO has always been talking positively about BK. > NPO has worked in the past a lot of times with BK, so it's improbable they cut ties from one day to another. > NPO signing t$ was just a way to further make "mid"-tier a safe place and for mid-tier alliances to not fight each other, thus establishing even greater mid-tier domination. It's super easy to talk about hypothetical scenarios. And I can throw some logs in between if you want. -------------------------------------------------------------- As such, I see no reason to further debate with you on whether Chaos/KETOG plotted, targeted you or whatever. We have actions and they are there. Your assumptions are cancelled by reality. And I see no reason to further debate with you whether IQ broke or not, since I don't see you going for any actions. Our assumptions are not cancelled by reality. ------------------------------------------------------------- So, thanks for the debate. You could have used arguements that wouldn't be based on prophecies or time-travels, but still, it was entertaining and fun. Good luck with your wars and relations. I wish you find new people that you can trust and work with. My apologies all my efforts failed on that.

The ones police typically use now are designed to disperse the gas quickly using a small explosive to prevent people from throwing them back at police. Most other grenades police use also violently detonate (flashbangs grenades, concussion grenades, etc.). Some protestors in France tried that during the yellow vest protests and had their hands blown off.

  49. If raiding is the only thing that bothers, it can be ignored maybe? The Web of all present wars can be easily built although there isn't always huge wars happening in Orbis. Otherwise, the simplest daily report kinda thing that displays the most popular type of wars that occured that day might be a better option (what alliances involved and if raid/attrition/ordinary). It could just look like a column chart but would be very helpful for following the game politics instead of looking for it all by yourself.
