  1. Happy Spacemas! On this day, which has been hallowed since yesterday, we anoint ourselves with ceremonial spacetallow and go on chemical-assisted journeys across the cosmos. We offer you the gift of Spacemas, the holiday that you can celebrate by just kinda doing whatever, then deciding it’s holy. Our commune’s members wish you swift solar winds, and have been diligently carrying out the holy rites throughout the past year: Seb has been covering his nude body with powdered gold, and then rolling about in a pile of defunct currencies. Albus Dumbledore has been spoiling books for children. Ripper has been quietly expanding his family of Greek warriors, and carefully watching his calendar for some reason that is probably totally benign. Cazaric has been admiring his own body inside his newly completed mirrored wangcube. Azrimalos has been teaching his kids the TRUE meaning of Christmas (pain). Gideon Lorr is retrieving church relics from the compound mystery spot. Critters has been buying an altogether unreasonable amount of ammunition, and designing Bo’s all-hippy diet. Redarmy has been absorbing government cynicism and redecorating his festive gulag. Goomy has been just generally being more sane than anyone else in the Church, which is disconcerting in itself. Spaceman Thrax has found a new kind of adhesive to huff for the holiday season. W has been boycotting Spacemas because he doesn’t like the regional dub. Utz has been decorating his truck with a festive napalm launcher. Joe Stupid has been contemplating the nature of stupidity, and making his peace with the venerable, volcano-dwelling imbecile spirits. Bloody Boatmen has been staying with the bloody boat. Nietzschelloo has been preparing the butt roast, which is just a butt. Snuffles has been pooping all over the yard. Katie has been g8, tbh, unlike BOYS (rme, smh). Captain Bezzers has been literally simulating the deaths of everyone else on this list. CPT Nixon has been stockpiling bacon for the new year. Ichabod Crane is continuing his one-man war against modernity. TheSnipe has been taunting Hades’ soul and celebrating his final victory. Lene Hau has upped her toll rates as the villagers begin to catch on. Black Rook is more than prepared for this stupid year to finally die. Syrano is quietly plotting his revenge. Master Antony is spending more time in his skull garden. Burnchurch has been wondering when he is old enough to get his share of wisdom, and assuring the rest of us his name is just a cheerful homage. Abbas Mehdi is celebrating another year of no one figuring out who put Xenu up to it. Maia has been decorating the Spacemas vestibule with cheerful blood splatters. Bradley Davis has been hiding in his shell and not escorting scorpions. Torshiro Mifune is bringing Uncle’s word to the heathen people of Saturn. Jack is hunting down his doppelgangers for a climactic showdown. Luke is currently between universes, and cannot take your call. Steuart Geharon is fitting in way too well, and it’s frightening. Packanimal is saving up to finance another round of name changes. Lord of Puns is trying to figure out how you make a pun out of a holiday that is already a totally made up word. Malinok swears the place looked like that when he got here. Vexz better celebrate, or we’ll never let her out of the basement. Ezio Auditore has been wondering why he got himself into this. Happy Spacemas, from our family to yours! TL:DR: Hope everyone's having a good holiday season! Also: goofy stuff.

  6. The Seven Kingdoms Carolers are back for our third annual Christmas Album. This year we are performing 'Christmas (Felkey Please Come Home)' in honor of our good friends in TCW, all of whom haven't quite made it home for the holidays. Felkey has bravely fought his way back from Vacation Mode, but he still hasn't quite made it back to activity. Send your thoughts and prayers everyone, and maybe he'll make it back to TCW for Christmas! Lyrics

  7. At this point they've taken all the damage they possibly can; anyone that's still there now is probably going to stay even if the war drags on for another full year. Also getting an even split on the yes/no doesn't prove your point at all; if anything it shows that their membership actually are willing to stick it out. I'm just as surprised as you are, tbh.

  10. In a world where villains have grown in popularity and strength, the world cried out for heroes. One hero stood up amongst the sea of chaos, and fought to bring justice to all. His name, was All might, and he became the Symbol of Peace. With his passing as a hero, the villains of the world grew emboldened. The world that the Symbol of Peace had built, now faced a danger long since forgotten. To combat this danger, a new organization would be formed, and it would be named the League of Heroes. We hereby announce the creation of an alliance of heroes, henceforth known as, the League of Heroes. The League of Heroes vow to uphold the integrity and resolve befitting that of a hero, to protect and defend its members and allies from unjust assaults, to help it's heroes(old and new) grow over the course of their service, and to build a world that all can call home. 20. So my suggestion adds an in-game mechanic of alliance warfare, surrendering and peace. If 25% of the members of alliance A declares on alliance B they then enter into an alliance war that is visible and trackable in-game This alliance war continues until peace terms are sent from either Alliance A to B or B to A and accepted in the in-game mechanic. These terms can include surrendering anthem rights, flag rights, taxes, a certain amount of money/resources, restrictions on treaty signings, and etc. Thanks to George who helped me pen this.

  21. Zeus, first cause, prime mover; for what thing without Zeus is done among mortals? The Gates of Olympus are thrust open, will you join us in our halls? You may not see us, but you always see our work at hand, raw might, volatile power, the rolling of the thunder through the great pastures and fields, the swaying of the wheat, the churning of the ocean, the cold grasp of death and the very turning of the earth. We are everywhere, all around you, our pantheon (hehe copyright) has guarded humanity since the dawn, and will continue to do so at the dusk. Join an alliance that has come far since it's beginnings, but not just an alliance but a brotherhood, and thriving community! Will you join us in this chronicle, in this chapter of our history? Will you strive to carve a name, to work with us in the establishment of something great? Requirements: Activity, we need you to log in regularly, that's all. We HIGHLY recommend getting discord, would explain all the benefits but i'd be writing an essay ? Have fun, in the end, we are a community, not just an alliance. What we offer: Thoughtfully and carefully made guides to the game, that will take you through everything you'll need to know. Mentors and an academy that will help you through your time as a novice and will answer any questions that you might have. A very active and determined leadership core and the chance to rise and help the alliance in many different ways. An active, passionate and driven community that's always welcoming to new members. A community that is altogether VERY determined and driven, just look at our recruiting officers: Just look at that determination and vigour! Look at how happy that applicant is! You too can be a part of this! Alliance Link: https://politicsandwar.com/alliance/id=4894 Our discord will be on the alliance page

  23. My idea is basically this. During the creation of an alliance, you would be able to choose what "type" of an alliance it is going to be. There are going to be three options, a democracy, a dictatorship, and a monarchy. Each of them will add different elements into the game, and of course slightly change how alliances functions. Let's begin with the Democracy. Choosing the democracy category, the game will automatically update every, let's say, week. During the week, members are allowed to vote for people to become a government member, or something of the sort. There will be a required amount of days before the alliance can start voting on new government members, let's say, twenty-five days. Coups will be impossible for this style of government, and the government members will of course be chosen by the members. Side note, all members of government will have access to the bank. But, I was thinking of giving this certain alliance type a 5% population boost to all of the nations in the alliance, but this can easily be removed from the idea. The second being a Dictatorship. This is more like the modern alliance format. With a leader or two, a heir, and officers. This category of alliances has a leader, and they are the one who "controls" the alliance. However, even officers are allowed to coup the alliance leader, should any of them deem it fit (or they're going for bank), and the leader can manually allow certain members access to the bank, for example, if he had someone named Joshua in Officer position, and another Officer named Zeke, he could give Joshua access to the bank, and disallow Zeke access. I was thinking of giving this alliance type a 10% boost to military recruitment, (similar to Propaganda Bureau). Lastly, a Monarchy. This is basically the modern alliance format. With a maximum amount of two leaders, any amount of heirs, and any amount of officers. This category has the government previously mentioned, but they are exempt from taxes. Yes, I am aware that government members can create a tax bracket for themselves in the current game, but this would just be automatic, and unavoidable. Trying to coup a monarchy is going to be somewhat difficult. My idea with this, is that a majority (not 50%, at least 51%) of the alliance heirs have to "vote" to get rid of the current leadership. It should make formulating a coup much harder for larger alliances, and a monarchy could rig the system in their favor by having some of their "friends" as heirs so that they have almost no chance of getting couped. Also, Monarchies could have a 7% boost to commerce. Side note, for a Dictatorship and Monarchy, I was thinking of allowing the regular membership start a "Revolution", for example, if at least 50% of the player base (but there would be a requirement of at least 20 members), the alliance will be split into two parties, one being the dissenters, and the other being on the side of current leadership. From there, a two round war will occur, war ranges will basically be nullified, and either side can get outside help as they deem fit. However, any victory, or loss, wars by outsider alliances will not count. At the end of the two round war, the winning side (The side who won the most wars) will be able to choose government members. If the side with the original government wins, then the original government gets to stick around, however, if the dissenters win, then they will be able to place whoever they deem fit into the government positions.

  36. Yes. With how imcompitent TKR sphere are in peace talks, this war will go on for a very long time. IQ has never won. They’re happy to drag out grit victory for and exceedingly long amount of time. TKR sphere is banking on them no longer wanting to fight. From everything I’ve seen The war will go on until they realize they simply need to surrender and accept the terms. While they’re might have been wiggle room before, from everything I’ve seen IQs side has unified more with each pathetic peace negotiation attempt made by their representatives. At this point there’s more desire to enforce the terms as presented than there was when they were first made.

  38. I like the idea of having a nuclear meltdown because I think it adds a fun random element to what is normally a boring game outside of war. However, removing an entire city is a bit drastic. A better idea would be to have it make the city go 'inactive' for a few days, where it practically doesn't exist but is back to normal within a few days. @Shiho Nishizumi had the idea to make a nuclear meltdown function like a regular nuke, which I liked. Removing an entire city is to dramatic though.

  39. From 15 cities and above, nations have to pay $100M+ for a new city. With a 25% chance of losing it, I am sure most nations above that level would switch to coal/oil power plants. A nation that is in a proper alliance could get 15 cities within two or three months. So, a nation would have an "advantage" in improvements only for that long. The way the numbers are now, I am sure that the current mechanic will just make all active nations just switch to other power plants, offering no real extra growth advantage to smaller nations. As a theme/mechanic per se, it would be useless but also a little fun. Having things like natural disasters (and player vs game mechanics) is an idea that could spice things up.

  41. Let me explain something to you, since you seem ignorant of it. This isn’t a negotiation. These are terms of your surrender. We aren’t a union and a company negotiating who gets what and such. You’re a defeated group seeking peace. Peace which is early in regards to the victors sides desires. You take what we give you, and sure we are willing to work on some things, but if we plant our foot down on something you have three choices, accept it, wait til we stop caring about it or accomplish it ourselves. Saying we aren’t negotiating in good faith is asinine. And you’re beyond imcompetent if you actually believe that narrative is going to get you anywhere. You left negotiations because you let your pride get in the way. There exists this fallacy in PnW where if the losing side gurrillas long enough the damages even out and it behooves the winning side to push for white peace. If the alliance swinging from below is motivated, and coordinated then sure it can make it tedious for the winning side. However even if the winning side is burdened some they’re still growing and gaining money and resources. The losing side is not. Take that hat into account when looking at TKR and tCW. You’re soft. Your members are soft. They don’t have the stomach for that because they’re too used to easy wins and dogpiles. Not to mention your entire sphere is being held down. You have NO allies not being covered (minus Guardians TFP). Meanwhile you’re enemies grow at a slower rate, however it’s a much faster one than you. And your other enemies who you recently rolled KT and friends grow faster than both parties. That’s you’re true problem. You have no friends not being decimated. All you have are enemies. This is your grave you've dug. Submit.

  42. In the strictest sense, I suppose the two motivations are "contradictory" in that they aren't the identical. However, that's not quite what Adrienne argued in here. This first quote is the starkest instance of her claiming that our motivations are irreconcilable ("don't work together", in her words): Clearly they do "work together" and are reconcilable, since we presented a term that every alliance in our coalition agreed to regardless of their motivation for seeking it. She laid out the rest of TKR's objections in prior posts: This is a bit misleading. We laid out our definition of "war dodgers", which can be referenced in the OP. It is clear it was accompanied by research, the results of which can be found in Appendix II, which is referenced in the OP, although Ripper didn't quote the contents of it. According to Adrienne, we're not using a definition of "war dodger" that is satisfactory to TKR. As I've explained above and as both myself and others have explained in numerous posts in this topic, a variety of motivations is not the same as switching motivations. While I'm sure it's frustrating and may even have been (understandably) confusing at first, we've repeatedly indicated that the variety of motivations for the VM term stems from the disparate composition of our coalition. If the label for the nations in VM mode was truly TKR's primary objection, I suspect they would have quickly arrived at the same alternative I did. Assuming I'm wrong, I suggest they refer to those nations the same way I've referred to them here: VM users. Quoted for reference: So, to directly answer your original question @Buorhann, the main substantive hangup TKR seems to have is the use of the term "war dodgers" in reference to the nations in VM. However, as I just pointed out, there's a pretty easy, pedantic way to remedy this, which is to refer to them as "VM users" (if TKR has a problem with even this, then I can't help them). Beyond that, they don't seem to have any substantive issues with proposed terms. Per the top quote from Adrienne in this post, TKR is fine with either motivation - punishing VM users or dealing damage to them - individually, but not together. Contrary to her claim, they're reconcilable in the form of the proposed VM term quoted in the OP. The fixation on the term "war dodger" has no apparent relation to the coexistence of our coalition's dual motives - it can be addressed without establishing a sole motivation for the VM term and, per Adrienne, TKR isn't categorically unwilling to agree to terms explicitly aimed at punishing VM users.

  43. I appreciate the response, but here's where I'm coming from. TCW was on your side regardless. I know you also tried to make agreements with tC. So. Putting intentionality aside in why you got the people you did, it's still clear that you would have "your side" be at least Guardian, TKR, tC, Grumpy, and, via TKR, TCW/Tesla. That is a virtually unassailable, IQ-like upper tier grouping. To counter it, we had to get the jump on you, use virtually every available alliance remaining in the political sphere, AND still initially lose. Some elements of IQ claimed they didn't want to result in such a game-stifling grouping when they made IQ, but that didn't stop them from doing it.

  44. I would like to remind everyone that this is a game and that pixel huggers are the most pathetic breed of humans in this game. The principle of the thing is; everyone would have been rolled and the winning side feels like the losers should force the VMers to have the same damage as the rest of the alliance. Why are we still discussing this? How petty are people over pixels?
