  1. You didn't even ask anyone @Alex I disagree with player ads being up voted or down voted. That means people will always ever see the alliances that have the most members that voted for themselves. This further cements the idea that top 5 alliances actually matter and they really don't. Please reverse this change.

  3. This is true. We considered Pantheon in our bloc but TFP guy couldn't fit them in his story - neither we were. So we decided to not stretch our story to add Pantheon to our treaty. We value art over anything else.

  5. We were doing this the other day in the RON discord. The in-game equivalents were suggested by the community as a whole, so don't blame me. Character: Night King Personality/Biography: Enemy of all civilization, wants to bring about the long night. Seemingly unstoppable. But when he is defeated, the defeat is quick and sudden. In-Game Equivalent: Roquentin Character: Robb Stark Personality/Biography: Has a small but capable army. Well balanced in other regards, but absolutely trash in FA, which is why he gets rolled. In-Game Equivalent: Kastor Character: Cersei Lannister Personality/Biography: Hungry for power, will pull off any FA move possible to solidify her grip on power. In-Game Equivalent: Vexz Character: Daenerys Targaryen Personality/Biography: Extremely overpowered, bit of a genocidal warmonger at times. In-Game Equivalent: Tossup between Adrienne and Akuryo Character: Theon Greyjoy Personality/Biography: Kind of an asshat who betrays his friends and runs from fights. Redeems himself in the end only to immediately get rolled. In-Game Equivalent: Tossup between Les Paul and Dreadnought Character: Mance Rayder Personality/Biography: King beyond the wall, leads a bunch of free folk who do whatever they want. Good fighter. In-Game Equivalent: Roberts Character: Robert Baratheon Personality/Biography: Once was emperor of the Seven Kingdoms. Actually very powerful once, eventually becomes a naive idiot who spends his time drinking and whoring around. In-Game Equivalent: Fist Character: Euron Greyjoy Personality/Biography: Wildly unpredictable and cruel, is genuinely dangerous and cunning, and can be coy and flattering when the situation demands In-Game Equivalent: Horsecock Character: Qyburn Personality/Biography: Dabbles in the dark arts, no one knows how his instruments work. In-Game Equivalent: Borg Character: Barristan Selmy Personality/Biography: Excellent fighter, one of the best in the realm. Extremely principled and loyal to whom he serves. In-Game Equivalent: Mayor Character: Mountain Personality/Biography: Cersei(Vexz's) personal experiment. Excellent fighter, feared across the realm. In-Game Equivalent: Ripper Character: Podrick Payne Personality/Biography: Humble beginnings, but eventually rises to become a great fighter becomes a member of the Kingsguard. Possess humility, politeness and strength of character. Is kind and loyal towards those he serves. In-Game Equivalent: Cino Character: Harry Strickland Personality/Biography: Mercenary, captain of the golden company. Sellsword who fights for the losing side in the war. In-Game Equivalent: Isjaki Add more characters, their in-game equivalents, and explain with their history/personality, why it's a match.

  6. While I've been playing the game for a bit more than half a year and lurking as a guest on the forums to read news, I just started an account here, so greetings all :)

  7. Because of how new I am, I'm still unaware of the majority of PAW's history and foreign affairs. but one thing for sure is that I'm probably not the only one that went speechless after looking at the muscle fibre between the Knights Templar, Eclipse and the Company. It's a beautiful mess I tell you that.

  12. As of yesterday (I forgot) Jan 7, 2021. I have played PoliticsandWar for my 6th year. (I joined cybernations on the same day because I was looking for a nation simulation game and joined several until landing on PoliticsandWar) 6 years ago i would of created my First Nation and joined the original Brotherhood of the Clouds. After playing for a bit I went inactive and eventually rerolled joining some random alliance I can’t remember the name of and then forming my first micro the Federal Union. After that I want inactive again until my reroll which is my current nation, with all the crazy stories and fun times. I would like to take this time to appreciate the friends, enemies, children in my basement, and people who’ve made my experience in PnW and interesting one. Thanks everyone.

  13. DoE While patrolling the borders during the latest great war, The Immortals, The Fighting Pacifists, and Soldiers of Liberty were forced out of The Swamp by millions of radioactive ogres. All were victims of nuclear fallout from war. The ogres had doubled in size from the radiation, their skins melted off their bones, and only blood quenched their new thirst. The Immortals, The Fighting Pacifists, and Soldiers of Liberty fought off many. But, with every ogre killed, two more took its place. They were pushed back further and further from the swamp. A new era of ogre surrounded the swamp and created a barrier. With no way to return, these heroes became refugees in Orbis. For a long time, The Immortals, The Fighting Pacifists, and Soldiers of Liberty trudged through the muck of a deep, deep swamp. Boots deep. Boots covered in earth and water... and blood. These are the realities of war. At the edge of the swamp, past all the thick and thistle, is a place where the tree line grows thin. Beyond those tree lines are sand dunes. Past the damp and murky forest full of vegetations, donkeys, and ogres, the land dries up and turns into endless sandy hills. After days of hostile travel, These heroes’ exodus from the tree line was met with hot sand under foot. The sun blistered them head on. Nothing but arid, bone-dried wastelands as far as their eyes could see. Their shadows. The war. Behind them. It was said a promised land could be found in the vast desert. A paradise lost. A sanctuary. An oasis. Off in the distance, a vague tree line of bright greens appeared. A new home was on the horizon. They knew they would arrive soon. They would arrive by morning. When night fell, The Immortals, The Fighting Pacifists, and Soldiers of Liberty looked up to the stars to guide them. Gazing at the endless heavens, a peculiar thing occurred. A supernova of electrifying colors ripped and stretched across the sky. A rift near the quacksphere had opened. An Aurora spaceship tore through the sky. Thousands of duck-like dronecrafts were in pursuit and firing at the spaceship. A loud explosion echoed over the desert as the portal closed and shifted the sands of time. Aurora fought off the drones with aerial maneuvers never seen on Orbis. Lasers firing in every direction. Drones fell from the sky like wounded ducks. The last drones flew into the thrusters of the ship and detonated. The ship’s propellers erupted and the spaceship began to plummet to the earth. The hull burned and the Aurorians inside braced for impact with the sandy knolls. The Aurorians smashed into the dunes with a force that rumbled all of the desert. Bruised and battered, the Aurorians stumbled from the wreckage and were met with a surprise. The Immortals, The Fighting Pacifists, and Soldiers of Liberty were waiting outside. They extended their hands, “Come with us.” Aurora gathered what remaining supplies they had and began their own exodus into the long night. Under twilight, sounds traveled quicker than they. These heroes heard the distinct sounds of axes chopping wood. Off in the distance, a growing fire illuminated a lone tree with great roots and amputated limbs. Purple-folk danced about and fanned the flames higher. Branch after branch piled on. The tree was now a naked pillar. The fire their commonwealth and covenant. “Good evening weary travelers! Join us by the fire and have a drink from our bottles of water,” The United Purple Nation cheerfully declared as they extended out their bottles, “You look parched.” The heroes took the bottles and drank. “This isn’t water!” said The Fighting Pacifists. “This is wine!” said The Soldiers of Liberty. “Sweet nectar of the Gods!” said The Immortals. “ Space juice!” said Aurora. “Why, of course! What else would be in a water bottle?” said United Purple Nations. Well said, they all nodded in agreement. “What brings you to these parts?” asked the heroes. “Rumors of paradise,” said United Purple Nations. “The rumors are true,” exclaimed the heroes, “Join us. We know the way.” As morning dawned, a rooster cock-a-doodle-dooed in the distance. Over the next dune, the trees grew tall and green. The water shimmered so clear you could see into the future. All sorts of animals and vegetations were about. This was the oasis. The rumors were true. The Immortals, The Fighting Pacifists, Soldiers of Liberty, Aurora, and United Purple Nations began to unpack their things. Salvation was here. Members from each alliance grabbed their instruments and began to play and sing, “Don’t Look Back In Anger”. Soon after, everyone began singing and a new bloc was formed. They determined that those who rest at the Oasis will protect one another, vigilant to desert raiders and any who seek to harm them. Weapons were forged, spaceships rebuilt, and grapes were stomped for more wine. It was decided that the lush greenery of the Oasis shall shelter all those who seek refuge from the harshness of the outside Orbis world. This is the Oasis. It’s a place where the limits of reality are your own imagination.

  14. I 100% agree. I've got a bunch of player ads running that only show to new players as well telling them they get 60 days free of VIP for getting on Discord and then linking their account to their nation.

  15. I agree it is an unnecessary improvement, but I don’t see a comment from Alex that says ads with higher votes will be shown more frequently. It just says ‘advertisements’ page will be ranked.

  18. I guess it really depends on how many new players get directed to discord. Unrelated but the tutorial should definitely include a push to get new players on discord as quickly as possible. Preferably a separate step from the "like us on facebook / twitter / reddit" piece. I think the retention rate of newbies dramatically increases if we can get them directly into the community.

  20. Yeah, this is absurd. Ad upvotes/downvotes don't do anything meaningful. Can you buy upvotes for credits now?? What about fixing the multiple treaties bug? What about preventing the flame war between left and right that has been going OOC for months now? What's more important? An "achievement" for surviving 2020, or your community fracturing in half and feature breaking bugs?

  24. I’ll keep this brief. The Covenant has been around for a very long time. It was the first bloc on Orbis, and up until just a few hours ago, the oldest active treaty in Politics and War. But now, the Covenant truly is a thing of the past. 3 days ago we informed The Commonwealth that we were withdrawing from the treaty in order for us to stake a new path for UPN. The 72hour grace period has now passed and thus, so has the Covenant. Thank you Commonwealth, and thank you to all former members of the Covenant.
