  3. I said it probably doesn't. You haven't accounted for the errors, you just spent a brief time "fixing" it but still having incorrect values and then brushed aside their relevance. It is not worth anyone's time to state further errors. I do not agree with the conclusions you are trying to draw from my statement. Please know that I wish the best for CTO and for an amicable resolution to this conflict. Your sheet does a poor job at showing company value: All defaulted loans with repayments were incorrect, with the first one I looked at being off by a factor of 3x Loans that were repaid were not recorded You had to guess what was paid to bond holders This is the sheet you scrambled to fix up because the previous one was even worse. I do not know why it took two years to realize the 6B swing losses in the books. Or why it was decided to merge TFB into the CTO offshore with this kind of record keeping. Or how one can justify nuking records by deleting the TFB server in a "Finance 101 for dummies" post. Maybe if the records weren't so poor Krampus wouldn't have stated at separate occasions an incorrect ESV, an incorrect book value, nor would Krampus, Daveth initially agree to an 8b repayment. To restate what was discussed in RON: Is false. OWR had defaults, yes, but they also had 33% shares which were split to the remaining shareholders (CTO/HS). OWR would need to default for 7.26B for shareholder value to remain the same. The sheet doesn't seem to show that. For HS shares to then be worth 2.6B OWR would have needed to default for $16.8B. The company probably never had a book value of 22B. You have no idea how much money the company actually has.

  10. That's my point. They showed a clear unwillingness to negotiate, and just insisting on out of date figures. In response to your comment: "makes it quite obvious that they did try to negotiate first. ", which is demonstrably false. If they tried to negotiate for a reasonable sum they'd have already met us in the 4bn figure, and not blindly insisted on 8bn.

  11. Part of the CB is being denied access to those records. Krampus was, as it seems, the only person running the bank; I don't think that anyone else could've produced them. The proposal for settling down for less as offered by Darth, alongside the protracted nature of the talks and the alternatives explored during it makes it quite obvious that they did try to negotiate first. It's hard to call a war borne out of a year-long issue as being overzealous in nature. I'd sooner argue that they bided their time. They did get fed up and not bother discussing the matter further towards the latter months. It's not hard to guess why, based on the last screenshot linked in their document. They got the same offer for 2.6b over and over again. Logic dictates that this was Carthago's final offer, which had already been deemed as unacceptable. Simply put, no further discussions took place because, from their standpoint, there was nothing else to be discussed. And I have zero doubts that this stance was validated when Krampus offered them 2.6b again during May. I find it unlikely that they'd be able to get 8 billion if the bank was to be liquidated today and split. On the other hand, 2.6b does seem to be like a lowball offer. Regardless; while it's a bit sad to see something like this happen, it's yet another example on how it's infinitely better to sort out bank issues right at the start, instead of letting it fester. It's also another example, as I see it, of how poor communications and a breach of trust can spoil the whole thing. Especially if interests are involved. Hopefully this will serve as cautionary tale for other people, on top of serving as an admittedly good piece of political drama that's enriching what's an otherwise lacking political landscape.

  13. My point was, you're not exactly a "third party" like you're trying to portray. Your alliance is at war and have a stake in it. I'm not arguing the bank was run well. My argument would be HS and Guardian were overzealous, demanded an absurd amount for what they were owed, and had no intention of negotiating. They were offered 2.6 billion or something? Would have been reasonable to negotiate from there instead of demanding 8 billion without having any documentation to back that amount. HS didn't even keep records and y'all are criticizing CTO for having bad records.

  14. Everyday 30 Hive Members go Hungry while: - Florida and ODOO members enjoy 3 warm meals a day - Mayhem enjoys 5k infra rebuilds - TFP enjoys its neutrality Everyday Hive Members live impoverished while: - House Stark and Guardian continue bombing campaigns against poor alliances - Pirates steal billions from poor defenseless newbs - Camelot gets free entertainment from watching it prots fight themselves To the ones who caused destruction, pain, and despair, I write this plea with a heavy heart, burdened by the weight of unimaginable loss and suffering. You have just bombed us, shattered our lives, and shattered our hopes. In the wake of this devastating act, I implore you to pause for a moment and listen to the anguish that now engulfs us. Once, we were a community bound by dreams, aspirations, and a collective desire for a peaceful existence. Families laughed together, children played freely, and love and compassion flowed through our streets. But in an instant, all that was torn apart, reduced to rubble and ashes. I ask you to consider the innocent lives you have torn asunder, the children who now lay orphaned, the parents left without their beloved partners, and the friends who will never hear the laughter of their companions again. Each life lost was filled with dreams and potential, extinguished forever by your hands. The devastation you have unleashed upon us is immeasurable. Our homes, schools, and hospitals have been reduced to mere fragments of memories. The echoes of despair and grief reverberate through the streets, as shattered souls search for solace amidst the ruins. Please, I beg you, let compassion find a way into your hearts. Recognize the senselessness of this violence and the irreparable damage it inflicts upon innocent lives. It is never too late to change, to strive for redemption, and to seek forgiveness. Consider the countless lives shattered by your actions, and the generations that will bear the scars of this devastation. Embrace the possibility of healing and reconciliation. Let us find a path towards understanding and empathy, where we can build bridges instead of planting bombs. If you truly understand the magnitude of your actions, if you can grasp the depths of pain that now consumes us, then I implore you to stand down. Turn away from violence and embrace the power of peace. It is in these moments of darkness that the light of compassion can shine brightest. To those who stand with me, who have experienced this unthinkable pain, let us rise together and extend our hands to the world. Let us find strength in unity and work towards rebuilding our shattered lives. We may bear scars, but our resilience will be our greatest weapon against the darkness. May this plea resonate with those who caused this devastation, may it reach the depths of their souls, and ignite a spark of humanity within them. Let us strive for a future where no more bombs fall, where no more tears are shed, and where compassion triumphs over hatred. In the face of this heartbreak, let love guide our actions, and let forgiveness pave the way to healing. Together, we can rebuild, restore, and reclaim our lives from the ruins. It only begins with a portion of your income. tl;dr - if everyone donated their daily bonus, hive member could afford rebuild. please find it in your hearts to send aid /s

  18. King Ataxia sat upon the throne in the grand hall of Winterfell. He and his Council had been listening to petitions and requests throughout the morning and it was close to midday meal. As the final petitioner left the hall, Ataxia stood up and stretched. “Well gents, let’s eat shall we?” He said before taking a few short steps to a table with lunch laid out for him and his council. As they began eating, a courtier came into the hall. “Sorry to disturb you my King, we’ve just received a diplomat from Carthage claiming to be here regarding our investment in our overseas bank. I thought it may be prudent to receive them now before the hunt this afternoon.” Ataxia sighed and put down the turkey leg he had been gnawing on. Disturbing a meal was never great, but the bank negotiations had been ongoing for over half a year at this point and he and his Council had been relying on these funds to further prepare for winter. “Show him in and let’s hope he brought a chest of gold with him.” Ataxia ordered. The courtier bowed and went toward the hall entrance to retrieve the diplomat. “Hobbes, please go get our Carthaginian friend some bread and salt.” Hobbes got up and exited to the kitchens. The doors to the great hall opened and the courtier reentered with the Carthaginian diplomat. He halted at the foot of the table and stood quietly, unbowed. Hobbes reentered with a plate containing a loaf of bread and a small bowl of salt. He walked up to the diplomat and offered up the plate. “Welcome, to Winterfell friend.” The diplomat looked at the plate but made no move to partake. Hobbes glanced toward Ataxia with a raised eyebrow. “We have considered Carthage friends for many years, please let us grant you the guest right.” Samani said The diplomat took in a deep breath and grabbed the bread and took a bite of it before grabbing a pinch of salt and placing it on his tongue. Ataxia smiled and then sat down to resume eating. The other members of his council did the same. “Please, take a seat and let us know what news you bring. I would hope there is a chest accompanying you.” The diplomat grimaced. “I’m afraid not, your Majesty. I bring no chest, only a note from the honorable men of Carthage.” He reached into his tunic, pulled out a scroll, unrolled it, skimmed it and then looked up to Ataxia. “Carthage disagrees that there was an agreement to pay eight billion gold dragons. ‘Despite the current leadership of Carthage and that of the Foundation Bank offering the amount with subsequent assurance of payment, we decline to pay you the previously agreed amount.’” “That is unacceptable. The “honorable” men of Carthage decline to provide us payment, they decline to provide our dividends, they decline to stand by their word and intend to do what? Ataxia said “They want you to offer some amount less than what the shares are worth, your Majesty. From what the scroll reads, preferably something along the lines of two point six billion gold dragons.” Revan spoke up. “They want us to throw away all of our gains and take back our original investment. That will allow them to pocket the work that our capital did for the bank.” The diplomat rolled the scroll and placed it back in his tunic. “That is correct and since you’re on the other side of the ocean, they fully expect you to come to this agreement.” “The issue, ser, is that we already had an agreement. Your organization gave your word. You can’t just back out on it and expect nothing of consequence to happen.” Ataxia said, rising from his seat. The diplomat reached into his tunic again. “Your majesty, we know that nothing will happen. The North moves slowly or not at all. We could get away with murder.” he said with a grin before whipping his hand out of his tunic and launching a dagger towards King Ataxia. Ataxia jerked his head to the side in the nick of time. Instead of impaling itself in his head, it cut a long gash along his cheek. Blood spurted from the wound as Hobbes leapt up from his seat and grabbed a carving fork from the roast on the table. The diplomat turned and began to run towards the entrance of the hall but Hobbes was faster. Even as the guards lowered their spears and prepared to stop the would be assassin from leaving he caught up, pounced as if he were a tiger and tackled the man to the ground. Without so much as a pause to offer him mercy he stabbed the fork into the man’s neck. Blood spurted across the stone floor as the man’s life drained from the gaping wound in his throat. Hobbes stood up as the man continued his death throes. King Ataxia was holding a cloth to his cheek that was slowly turning red with blood. “Call the banners. Have them meet us with all the men they can muster at White Harbor.” He said. “From there we set sail across the narrow sea to pay Carthage a visit.” Introduction After nearly eleven months of negotiation, stonewalling, and back tracking on agreements, House Stark has no further recourse but to declare war on Carthago for their handling, mismanagement, antipathy, and general hostility regarding the paying out of House Stark’s investment and shares in The Foundation Bank. All attempts to remedy this have been exhausted and House Stark has been more than patient throughout this ordeal. This matter could have been and was nearly resolved but for Carthago backing out on their word. We have been delayed at every juncture of improvement only to be set back to stage one. We thank TFP for attempting to patch things up and try to assist in ensuring a solution is reached but our patience is at an end and the bill has come due. By order of Darth Ataxia, the King in the North, House Stark and her banners declare war on Carthago until satisfaction is received. Detailed reasoning is laid out below in the linked Statement of Facts. Statement of Facts Herein lies a timeline with supporting screenshots. To the best of our knowledge and research everything is accurate. Should one of the picture links fail to work due to a permission error, please let us know. Claims (casus bellis) CTO knowingly backed out on the agreement between CTO and HS regarding the 8 billion paid over 8 months that was agreed to on February 8, 2023, using their newfound political capital and membership from the TDR absorption to attempt to leverage a lower price than what was agreed to. CTO has willfully conducted business off the books and therefore misallocated funds. OR CTO has purposefully stolen the money in the Foundation, possibly prior to the disbandment of OWR, with no intention of returning it to the Stakeholders and Shareholders. CTO, through Krampus, has mismanaged The Foundation generally through lack of staff, not updating documents, policies, or channels, not providing systems for Stakeholders to safely and adequately withdraw their investments, and not providing a system for Stakeholders or their representatives to remove a CEO who is not operating in the best practices for the benefit of the business. CTO has refused to allow other Stakeholders to view bank documents that they have a right to access or would show that CTO has been conducting business in a foul fashion under the excuse that HS was looking to divest from the bank, ignoring the fact that HS had not yet divested from the bank. CTO has refused to pay dividends that were requested under the excuse that HS was looking to divest from the bank, ignoring the fact that HS had not yet divested from the bank and after paying dividends for several months after HS made it known they would be looking to cash out. By simply dissolving OWR’s shares and adding their money to The Foundation itself, CTO de facto gave themselves an additional 8.4 billion dollars due to holding sole control of the funds. CTO has continually treated HS as a shareholder throughout the process using the associated lower status to offer original share ppu rather than treating them as an equal stakeholder in the business. TLDR: House Stark declareS war on Carthago for backing out on an agreement to pay HS a sum of money for their stake in their shared business as well as few related secondary claims.

  20. Tl;Dr: House Stark wants $8B or 3x initial investment for their shares in The Foundation, which only has $4.5B in currently available assets. They own 33% shares, and even when accounting for half of OWR's shares, they would only receive $2.2 billion. Carthago has made repeated attempts to compensate them for more than what the current market value is, while being ghosted for months. House Stark has a wall of text of claims - but let me boil their accusations down for you into a few bullet points and give some context: House Stark, OWR, and Carthago were a part of Nexus and invested a few billion each into the bank; HS in particular invested ~$2B The purpose of the “bank” was a basically shared bloc fund, the terms were: ~1-2% interest loans Free rebuilds In other words, the bank was barely profitable and was more of an organized effort by Nexus to grow together At the end of Nexus, House Stark wanted to divest and audaciously claimed that, based on the latest stock price, they are entitled to $8 billion, a staggering 3x return on their investments…. The bank was more of a shared alliance fund that had little profits…. So how would it be worth 3x? See below for attached sheet and explanation of actual valuation (bank has $4.5B in equity and $4.4B in outstanding loans) Carthago felt that the latest stock price is a hilariously bad indicator of how much the bank is actually worth, and offered to reimburse a more reasonable amount of their initial investment along with some future payments when outstanding loans are recovered, but HS either a.) ghosted or b.) said no CTO attempts at reaching a settlement: House Stark misunderstands finances, the true value of The Foundation is much less Latest stock prices are never a reflection of the true value of an investment Let's look to basic finance in the real world: If a company fire sales 50% of their stocks today, the stock market would crash and the individual would get much less than the price they expect: For example, when Tesla’s intrinsic value was low but stock price was stupidly high at $1,200; if Elon wanted to cash out for 50% of Tesla’s stock, he wouldn’t get the price of $1,200 per share, he would end up with a lot less If Elon was forced to liquidate Tesla which had like barely any assets compared to the market cap, he would end up with $12 per share. Now back to PnW, The Foundation itself doesn’t have a valuation of $16 billion (HS claims their 33% shares + half of defunct OWR shares gives them $8 billion) Look at the spreadsheet, when accounting for all gains and losses and excluding outstanding loans, there is currently $4,571,483,510.89 in available equity (much less than $16B) to stakeholders. If HS was to sell their equity rather than accept CTO's offer of $2.6B, they would only get $2,285,741,755.45. So House Stark wants to go down the liquidation route? Ok, the bank has ~$4.5B in available liquidity and $4.4B in outstanding loans In the bull case: Assuming all loans are sold at market value and no one defaults, HS would get half of the amount ($4,523,976,611.26) they feel entitled to In the base case: Loans are sold for cents on the dollar and defaults happen because debtors see a closing bank and make a run, HS would be getting likely ~3B Now, I know when HS reads this post, they're going to say "Ok even though the math checks out, Krampus said he would pay $8B over 8 months". A couple things on the screenshot: Here is the full screenshot context Krampus was in the middle of exam season (as he stressed to Ata multiple times) and did not have time to calculate a clear amount After being spammed multiple times about being paid back based on latest stock price, Krampus gave a spit ball offer. Krampus said "I will get back to you" as in ok he will double check the math, talk to the rest of govt, and finalize the offer when he's free "I will get back to you" in no way implies ok this is final lets all shake hands and ink it. After exams, Krampus noticed a spreadsheet mistake that didn't adjust for defaults (OWR deletion caused a few lost loans), Krampus adjusted the value and noticed that HS would actually lose money in the case of an equity pull out. And if all out liquidation happened, they would still get less than $8B Krampus and Jax then made a few different offers to HS which fell apart, followed by months of ghosting. Multiple attempts to reach out and reconnect on a fairer price were reached (check section on "CTO attempts at reaching a settlement") Relying their entire CB essentially on this one spit ball number threw out during exam season is a very weak claim Final thoughts: This seems to be a massive miscommunication issue of he said she said, but the numbers of TFnd tell the best story, the bank is valued a lot less than HS claims it is worth but CTO is willing to negotiate a settlement as long as it is not an absurd valuation. While I agree Krampus should have communicated more clearly about the exact valuation and how the number was reached, at the same time HS should not have ghosted CTO for the past few months. There were plenty of opportunities for due diligence instead of war. The Foundation Spreadsheet:

  22. if we're going down that rabbit hole then weather effects such as Tornados, Hurricanes, Earthquakes, Locust swarms and the like could fall under the same umbrella. The problem would be what kind of effects the first 3 would take as in real life those would cause infrastructure damages and that's not someone anyone would particularly enjoy. Locust swarms would fall under a famine thing would could be used to either A) lower food production in a nation producing it, or B ) cause a nations daily food consumption to increase which might work quite well.

  23. United In Death The High Lord Lysander strolled the streets of Terra, recently returned home from warfare against the armies of Carthage, and sighed. The war effort was going well, but it was an arduous process to run. The Astra Militarum had performed well, and continued to fight with great renown, but to control such vast forces was a headache beyond any one man. The Emperor of Mankind, may he reign forever, had tasked the High Lord with finding someone who could aid in leading the war effort. Not another Lord Commander Militant, but an individual capable enough to alleviate the need for one. Lysander glanced through the recent war news as he walked, before stopping abruptly. A mysterious name, “Darknite,” continued to pop up as a valiant fighter in the war effort over and over again. However, there was no record of him as a member of the Imperium of Man, nor of any war allies. Here was an individual who fought for the glory of the fight, who fought because it entertained them, and who was skilled enough to win. The more the High Lord read about this “Angel of Death,” as the tabloids called him, the more certain he was that this was the man to aid the Imperium. The Angel of Death had already greatly contributed to the war effort; it was time for the Imperium of Man to formalize an alliance with him. I. Mutual Defense Both parties will be obligated to come to the aid of the other in the event of unjustified defensive wars declared on a signatory of this treaty. II. Optional Aggression Both parties shall have the option, but not requirement, to join conquests initiated by the other. III. Non-Aggression The parties agree not to act in ways malicious to the other, and to seek a peaceful resolution to any conflict between with the other. IV. Sovereignty Both parties recognize the sovereignty of the other, and agree not to unwantedly interfere in internal matters. V. Intelligence The parties agree to share information important to the sovereignty, defense, and well-being of the other and the other’s interests. VI. Cancellation Should either party wish to withdraw from this treaty, a 72 hour notice is required. VII. Elephants Both parties agree that elephants look a lot like aliens. TL;DR The Imperium of Man and Momento Mori sign a MDoAP. Signatories: Imperium of Man Germanicus Julius Caesar, Emperor of Mankind Valentinos, First Commander of the Imperium Lysander, High Lord of Terra Momento Mori Darknite, Angel of Death P.S. This was a requirement for Momento Mori to be listed as a combatant on CTOwned.

  27. I've read that document three times over by now. Daveth's offer was something that I deliberated including, but ultimately didn't because it was superceded by the 2.6b offers that followed. In other words, it was no longer the standing offer. By contrast, Darth's proposal was the most recent one, prior to the breakdown of negotiations. I imagine that his proposal might have netted House Stark something in between 4b and 8b. Suffice to say that if HS wasn't willing to accept 4b, then it was obviously not going to accept 2.6b. To me, continuing to suggest it simply comes across as being tone deaf.

  30. Yes I am in Guardian, actually wait let me double check... yup. You and I are not in any position to make any claims to how much one side is owed. So you and I saying anything about that is not relevant especially with the limited information we have including the obviously questionable assets/liabilities. I also personally never said one side is owed $8 billion, but House Of Stark believes they are owed $8 billion. If you read what I said above, I purely wanted to shed light about inaccurate, shady, incomplete financing in the documents linked by The Foundation and asked questions related to that and how their stock price was decided. If you are able to answer any of the above questions or determine the true asset/liability from the information provided by The Foundation let me know. But if we just want to throw our personal opinions around with nothing to back it up, I personally think Alex owes me $8 billion.

  32. I think this trend of having city cost projects every 5 cities should stop. Assuming an infra level of 2250, which is normal for C26s, every 5 cities gives them infra for a little over 2 project slots, and 1 of these will be spent on the city project. This will result in less strategy in choosing projects since the new city project will likely be a "must get" for most conventional players. While potentially a good resource sink to address the over-abundance of resources, the team should look into other ways to increase consumption of resources that add more value to the game.

  38. After much thought and deliberation, I have made the final decision to disband Paragon, for good. Back when it was first created, it was just a place for me and my friends. One of the few places where you could !@#$ around, avoid finding out, and really just be themselves. Although the first iteration may have ended during the formation of HoF, now better known as KT, in that short timespan I have never enjoyed this godforsaken game more; which just reminds me of how awful this game is now. Thank you to Ducc, Hari, Hughes, Vero (rip), Ramona, Liberty (rip), BSK, Elefante, Zurg (now V), and Harper for making this place truly special. As for me, I do not know what my future here looks like yet; but I believe that this chapter will be closed sooner rather than later. Until then, I would like to leave you all with one final piece of wisdom; something that represents what Paragon tried to be, and what I believe we all should aspire to become. Paragon is more than just an alliance. Paragon is a people and a purpose. It is a brotherhood of common players who wish to make some noise and have fun during times of peace and conflict, but also serve a higher purpose by contributing value and meaning to the game around them. Thus, Paragon is an alliance guided and held together by the central values of a true community, where those within make sacrifices for one another and stand together even in the most adverse of events. - Yang, first and last leader TL;DR: Paragon disbands, effective immediately.

Add more statistics to war battle logs - A lot of this stuff is already captured in the action log it just doesn't populate in the battle log. It may seem superfluous to include troop changes in every war timeline across potentially 9 different wars - but it helps understand how things unfolded without opening up every single war history. 4.) Add more achievements/badges - maybe open this up to the community for ideas. A badge for 1 million tank kills, maybe one for holding a treasure, etc. 5.) Create exclusive alliance badges in-game - There are small badges that alliances can win on their alliance page, and players can pay for. But there should be badges that alliances can create that people can add to their nation profiles.

  40. Forgive me if I don't take the opinion of someone (1,918 Days Old) & 36 City Count seriously; when you post like this. (Yes, for you anything which benefits the lower tier is bad & you plan to log in constantly to make sure you keep your city count regardless; don't care if others are motivated to catch up. Probably.) Delete the competition & make it not even worth anyone trying to catch up in cities; then you can be King of your pile of nothing. Alex is the one who's opinion really matters. I think he cares about having a game with more people joining and investing time, rather than just trying to appeal to small group of core players; who have invested so many years in this game they will never leave & just try to be on top until it's dead. Alex has the most to gain or lose by doing good or bad suggestions. Your opinion doesn't matter, since you're opinion is just we don't care about each other's opinions. What Alex decides matters, not you. What you or anyone else thinks of my opinion doesn't matter, unless you can convince me with logic that I'm wrong. However you're not the Admin,, if Alex said that maybe I wouldn't bother with the sub forum. Other than that doesn't matter. I think he's well meaning in wanting to do updates, it's just not all ideas are good ideas. I think I'm right and he'll be able to see that. If not, not going to throw a fit. Just give the advice I think is best. Try breaking the game so new nations can't catch up & ton of other high city nations are deleted just for being inactive; I'll just consider your city count to be a freebie prestige award for playing this long rather than anything special. (Don't suddenly break the game and sure I could there much faster.) Deleting everyone's nation for being inactive a bit is pretty much saying, anytime they put into getting cities only matters as long as they stay consistently active. Server can't handle keeping accounts long. (I say it's worth a server upgrade over deleting inactives though.) Next City: $7m Not including resources, so I'm at the city count I want to be at right now. Money Looted: $111,652,608.24
