I don't see any difference between Alliance politics and Sphere politics. Most alliances form or join spheres to prosecute their individual FA goals (assuming they have any). Spheres are (ideally) just a manifestation of an aligned purpose or goal between multiple alliances.

Above that isn't won for Anti-Fortuna yet, as Fortuna still hold a total numerical advantage, and some downdeclaring is happening, but a lot of it is via suicides and navals so Fortuna seems settled knowing they are on their way to losing and dealing as much damage as they can on the way out. I don't actually have a dog in this fight, and I'll concede your point that a bit more challenge might make it more interesting, but if I'm being honest, watching an old rival from the very early days of P&W, and one I never really reconciled with, that being t$, get dogpiled, curb stomped, and wrecked is...not boring. But hey, I'm sure t$ at least has enough money stored away somewhere to rebuild themselves several times over. They'll be fine. As for the rest of Fortuna, they should have been more careful of the company they kept. I mean, if you can get Rose and TKR not only on the same side in a war, but coordinating and teaming up to hit targets, that's some serious bad karma.

Fortuna's upper tier consolidation is killing the game right now. The politics of this game is dying because y'all are slowly choking it to death. TE needs to split in order for the politics of this game to thrive. Also pretty ironic since y'all pushed to have GG split to stop upper tier consolidation but y'all are the reason it still exists.

They produce 10 pollution and increase disease by .25% and cost 20 food per day to maintain each. Suburbs would cost 100 lumber and 20 steel each. They add 1,000 people and adds 100 people every in-game year due to families, you can have 5 per city. They would increase tax revenue by 5% each and increase the maximum commerce rate by 2%. They produce 20 pollution and cost 25 food per day to maintain. Exurbs would cost 50 lumber and 5 steel. They add 500 people, produce 2 food per turn, and increase tax revenue by 2%. They produce 15 pollution and cost 5 food to maintain per day. Because this would add new improvements, infrastructure costs should be reduced or the infra required per improvement should be 40 instead of 50. The countryside nation menu is separate from cities. Farms would be moved to this menu along with 3 other new improvements: plantations, ranches, and interstates. I would add more detail to countryside and lumber but I can't really think of much else to add. Some of these could be adjusted but I think this would improve the game's mechanics.
