  1. @Alex @ss23, I've invested five years and $3000 into your game, a commitment I'm beginning to question. Despite numerous attempts to provide constructive feedback, it seems the game is stuck in a state of stagnation. What's more disheartening is your apparent reluctance to consider potential improvements, choosing instead to remain within a comfort zone shaped by unsuccessful entrepreneurs. It appears that your primary strategy has been to outsource the game's development for a minimal fee, then attribute any shortcomings to your own inexperience. This approach, however, does not absolve you of the responsibility to address the game's issues. In hindsight, I regret the significant amount of time and resources I and many others among us have dedicated to this endeavor. I sincerely hope you reconsider your approach and take the necessary steps to improve the game. Good luck with your sh*t plans and strategy. Farewell, Blackbird

  2. Its been 4 years now and a lot of craziness both in my personal life and in this game for me I've spent way to much time on this game and it has become my social life pretty much kek. I am not sure what I wanna say really besides the fact Im proud of The Coal Mines and what we have done in our time as a community as I can say i'd never have gotten married without it and i'd never be getting my degree without it. I was 19 when I started TCM and this year I turn 24 I went from a soldier to a homeless dude to a student to a retail worker to a homeless person to a student again it's been crazy. I've moved to 9 different cities and have lived in 5 seperate states. I've had the gift of meeting a lot of my high gov over the years in person and have plans to meet even more we have travelled to several games after our start here in PnW and made friends all-over the internet as far as TCM goes i'd 190% would not be the person I am today without its support and its membership it's been a great honor for me to have served TCM over the past 4 years. TCM was founded by Myself and Evernt to help us both with the fact we personally felt lonely so we made a place to have active voice chats to feel less lonely by accident we made a multi-game LGBTQ+ community with a lot of Minecraft nerds and Weebs and a surplus of people with autism. My hopes is I get to actively serve TCM for the next 4 years and continue to work with my mates towards a better tomorrow. although my spouse intends to make me work lots on irl so lets see how good that goes putting life before PnW is challenging sometimes lmao. To all the TCM members old and new I love you all, lets have another great 4 years even if its hectic as normal. Special Shout-Out to Weebunism for making our logo in 2019 that we ended up using for 4 years straight TCMs first ever ally and a longtime friend. P.S. Yes I know i'm late but still wanted to make this.

  3. (Treaty) Northern Lights It was a cold day in Winterfell. The air was crisp, flowing steadily throughout the castle. We open in on the King in the North, Ataxia, guiding his army from the castle down to the Iron Islands. As he watches his army, he can feel the air getting warmer, and warmer. The King is somewhat on edge, and begins looking around. His loyal hand, Samani, points up to the sky. "It appears we have some visitors, my liege." he says, as they watch a rocket ship begin to descend on the north. Once the ship makes contact with the Earth, the doors unlatch, and begin opening slowly. Out of the spaceship steps Xi Jinping and Alex, followed closely behind by Franz. They begin moving towards the castle, leaving footprints behind them in the grass. Ataxia rests his hand on the hilt of his sword as the men come closer. "What is your business here?" he inquires. Xi meets his gaze, and answers, "We come seeking supplies, food specifically. Any chance you'd be interested in a trade of sorts?" The King and his hand guide the hungry travelers to a table, and offer them a seat. The King claps his hands together, and out of a building comes Starfuze, the royal servant. "Go fetch us some wine, weeb." commands the king, and Star bows his head and makes his leave. Over the next couple hours, the Northerners and Explorers strike up a trade deal, where food and wine are exchanged for galactic weaponry. As the travelers make their leave, Alex turns around and makes a proposition. "Would you be interested in a pact of sorts?" he asks. Ataxia nods his head. "Aye" he says. The travelers make their way back to their spaceship, and turn around and wave back at Winterfell. They take off, flying back to the cosmos. I. 6. I definitely feel this same frustration, as do many PnW players I think. As the game encroaches on a full decade old and many older players are well past a city count that will ever ROI the cost, I think many of us expected to see more content continue to flow. However, I think there are a few problems at the organizational level within PnW that are causing a chain-reaction of frustration down the line. 1. Over-reliance on a handful of volunteers who are, at-best, received as controversial by the wider community. Specifically: DrRush, Prefontaine, and their teams. As someone who has been extremely involved in said volunteering, I feel uniquely qualified to say that the systems aren't working, and turnover or outright dissolution (in the case of the dev/design team) is sorely needed. I highly appreciate the effort put in by everyone who has been involved, but somewhere along the way it stopped working. 2. A disjointed approach to how things are presented and disconnection from the playerbase - I want to be very clear when I say this: All the teams are putting in work. Moderation teams in-game, on discord, on the forums, and even on reddit, the dev/design team, and the actual people coding like Alex/Village are all pulling some kind of weight. This is not a dead game by any means. The problem comes in with how information is presented to the playerbase. Oftentimes posted into a discord server that most of the active playerbase avoids, put on forums that again many active players no longer check, or lost in some random chat somewhere on RON. If a player isn't actively looking for news and updates, it's way too easy to miss. There is a lot more depth to go into with the problems surrounding the development cycle of PnW, but I think these two problems are the roots of the rotten tree and no tweaks to the branches will fix the issue unless you first fix the foundation. My suggestion, as always, is to revamp the PnW discord into a community hub instead of an afterthought. Get the playerbase all in one place, go look into other big game's community discords if you want inspiration and, as always, I'm here to help if asked. Once a community hub is in place, then we can start making progress on development that doesn't constantly generate controversy and community outrage. Shout out to @Village for his hard work coding and re-coding the game and really pushing forward things this past year or so.

  7. After much thought and deliberation, I have made the final decision to disband Paragon, for good. Back when it was first created, it was just a place for me and my friends. One of the few places where you could !@#$ around, avoid finding out, and really just be themselves. Although the first iteration may have ended during the formation of HoF, now better known as KT, in that short timespan I have never enjoyed this godforsaken game more; which just reminds me of how awful this game is now. Thank you to Ducc, Hari, Hughes, Vero (rip), Ramona, Liberty (rip), BSK, Elefante, Zurg (now V), and Harper for making this place truly special. As for me, I do not know what my future here looks like yet; but I believe that this chapter will be closed sooner rather than later. Until then, I would like to leave you all with one final piece of wisdom; something that represents what Paragon tried to be, and what I believe we all should aspire to become. Paragon is more than just an alliance. Paragon is a people and a purpose. It is a brotherhood of common players who wish to make some noise and have fun during times of peace and conflict, but also serve a higher purpose by contributing value and meaning to the game around them. Thus, Paragon is an alliance guided and held together by the central values of a true community, where those within make sacrifices for one another and stand together even in the most adverse of events. - Yang, first and last leader TL;DR: Paragon disbands, effective immediately.

  11. The Coal Mines and Camelot and, their respective protectorates agree to white peace. New Polar Order surrenders to Camelot. New Polar Order accepts responsibility for the war. New Polar Order attacked Camelot's protectorate to provide The Fighting Pacifists an excuse not to honor their treaty. New Polar Order acknowledges their participation in the great war of 2019 led to players quitting the game. New Polar Order agrees Camelot has been mistreated and unjustly allocated a disproportionate amount of responsibility for the great war of 2019. New Polar Order denounces their former diplomats Bohemond Hauteville and WSxPhoenix. All parties agree to a 3-month Non-Aggression-Pact. Starting as of June 4th Midnight UTC (London Time) also referred to as Game time. All parties agree to avoid hitting allies of each party without just cause and clear communication to circumvent the NAP and/or treaty chain the other. TCM, Cam, and NpO, (to include all extensions, Prots, etc.) agree to let all wars either expire or end at member discretion. No new declarations are to be declared, past the following day change. 13. I was buying steel from this guy without an alliance. Checked his nation and saw that he started today with 10k Steel for trade. He created a nation and some random guy sending him credits and resources. I thought it might have been suspicious so I checked his unique ID and saw that he had one other person on his network.. Checked that guys trade activity and saw he had the same trades with the other guy. Does seem like it might be but just to be wary.

  14. ESPN8: The Ocho Presents ODOO Tournament in South Bend Cotton McKnight: Welcome everyone to another special evening in dodgeball, the most exhilarating sport on television. For the folks at home just tuning in, we’re coming up on the final match tonight at the Orbitite Dodgeball Organization of Orbis’ regional tournament here in South Bend, exclusively presented here on ESPN8: The Ocho. We’ve seen upset after upset this weekend - what an exciting ride it’s been! What do you think, Pepper? Pepper Brooks: Such an exciting weekend, Cotton. I’ve been on the edge of my seat for all of it! Cotton: Yes I have been too. Now I doubt many of our viewers any additional context on the ins and outs of ODOO, but for the handful of you out there, let me remind you that the current regionally-qualified ODOO teams have just recently returned from the World Dodgeball Invitational in Prague, where they resoundingly defeated the European reigning champs, Fortunate Tunas. Hot off this victory, the teams are gearing up for the ODOO annual championship tournament in Las Vegas, where a winner will be crowned from among all the regionally-qualified teams. Today’s final match will determine the regional qualifying team from the South Bend tournament, who will go on to compete in Las Vegas! Pepper: For a FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLAR grand prize, Cotton! Cotton: Yes indeed, Pepper. This final match tonight will be played between the Dodgefathers and the Yetis, and while the Dodgefathers are heavily favoured to win, the true beauty of this sport is its unpredictability. And if you don’t believe me, just remember that in the semi-final round this weekend, both teams playing tonight came out victorious against better-ranked opponents, the Slumdodge Millionaires and the Mother Duckers. Pepper: I don’t think anyone was expecting this match-up for the final match! Cotton: No sir! Alright, the ref is coming out onto the court signaling the start of the match, so let’s tune in. [***] Cotton: My oh my, Pepper! Was that an impressive game or what? The last time I remember seeing such artful dodging was during the semi-finals of the Bishkek Invitational in 2012. Pepper: *whistles* These guys sure know how to dodge, Cotton! Cotton: With this truly astounding victory against the Dodgefathers, I think it’s fair to say that the Yetis more than deserve a spot in the annual ODOO championship tournament. I for one can’t wait to see them bring this calibre of play to ODOO. They really have a bright future ahead of them if they keep this up! For now though, we’re signing off and handing the mic over to our colleagues in Johannesburg for our coverage of the Pan-African Ostrich Racing Derby. Pepper: Effin’ A, Cotton! Effin’ A! TL;DR: Grumpy joins the Orbitite Dodgeball Organization of Orbis as a full signatory of ODOO’s 5 Ds of Dodgeball treaty. ---------------------------- Signed on behalf of the existing teams, Average Joe’s, Purple Cobras, MilFs, Girl Scout Troop #417, Skillz That Killz and Moose Knucklers Canbec Keegoz Bradley TigerFire Brandon Donsberger Kilo Signed for the Yetis Presidential Fi

  23. I think this was a recent change but not sure, but remove blockades stopping the collection of bounties. Raiders are the main groups going after bounties both in-game mechanically and out-of-game via player-made deals, raiding often is done by the skin of your teeth especially when you consider 3 people countering you plus the one or more nations you may be offensively engaging. It's incredibly easy to flip someone 4v1 and blockade them, basically leaving bounty collection down to oversight or chance that they choose to not blockade you for whatever reason. My understanding is that this change was made due to the idea or the action of someone exploiting bounties and giving blockaded people money in niche situations where they are too weak to counter and break a blockade, but simultaneously winning at least one of their wars. Seems like an incredibly niche scenario to break an entire feature over, but I maybe there were just huge exploits happening idk. Proposed change: Remove blockade's impact on bounty collection. Allow bounties to be collected regardless of blockades as long as the bounty existed prior to the war being declared. This allows bounties to be utilized fully in-game, and collected by the main group that will be going after them: raiders. I'd also like to use this thread to pitch another change to bounties: Damages. Allow a player to set a bounty for pre-set thresholds of damages up to $100m (based on value of infra destroyed and money stolen combined). This form of bounty I feel is more flexible than a single nuclear bounty but not as committed as an attrition bounty. You can often do big damages on a nuke run without winning the war, for example, but people want a bit more for their money than a single nuke. Just a thought.

  26. Rose simply has the mandate of heaven. Facts about Rose: 1 - Rose has had over a million score before. Really a testament to their IA and econ policies. 2 - Rose consistently has over two hundred members. I think NPO had a lot, but I think only Rose has had specifically over 200 for so long. 3 - Rose's tiering gives them the upper hand in the upper tiers. They've very competitive, and all that mass is here to stay. 4 - Rose is a very old community. They have a lot of experience, and their gov is full of heavy hitters. This is to say nothing of the loyalty of their old guard. All these factors have come together to allow Rose to establish such a strong position in the game. And like, when I say they're old, they were here even before this current version of the game. There's also no real way to counter this either. Just bullying them is going to make them tighter and bring them together. You could get some bad actors to come together, infiltrate Rose, and maybe cause some damage that way; but that's a high-risk, low-reward strategy. It's a Rosian world, we just live in it.
