So as things currently stand, radiation (and Food production penalties) is pretty dynamic, in a war it can literally change every second. For a game that mostly revolves around turns, I think radiation needs a little love. What I'd first like to suggest is that radiation is updated only at turn change, as one of the first things before processing Nation income. The radiation page should also be updated to show not only the current radiation, but a table of the past 50-100 turns (and maybe some pretty graphs). This will give players an easy way to track trends in the radiation and plan accordingly. The second change I'd like to suggest, is that radiation affects more than just Food production. High radiation levels should affect all production and nation income (a lesser version of having a city nuked). Your citizens aren't going to necessarily want to work and some of the weaker ones may end up dying. This will add another aspect to wars, as heavy nuke use will affect the entire player base (and may cause friction with alliances that heavily use nukes in war).4 points

That will be very heavily abused by active recruiting alliances who know what they are doing.3 points

Hello everyone. It has come to my attention that there is a player with more downvotes than IQ Attempting to stop the spread of Sphinx’s commu- I mean Amazing influence! Many have already pledged their allegiance to the Anti Sphinx Resistance. So it is time that I must intervene, invalidating your beliefs. • Belief 1: “Sphinx is a Tyrant!” - This is wrong, he is a monument in Giza • Belief 2: “His taxation is unfair!” - This is wrong, our taxes are put to good use. The government magically getting new cities is purely coincidental! • Belief 3: “The Commonwealth is crumbling” - This is wrong, they are taxing. • Belief 4: “Sphinx wanted everyone to vote The Ten Day War” - This is wrong, we were forced With this, the Anti Vacaid Resistance is effective immediately. LONG LIVE SPHINX!!2 points

Ok, I have been running some ROI numbers, and it appears it wouldn't be worth it, and wouldn't do that much in terms of war effects. Besides, there are much more important things that need to be added to this game. ( @BelgiumFury and @Marco Polo have spoken lol)2 points

Originally posted: February 3, 2020 A mysterious envelope marked with the golden eagle, and sealed with wax imprinted with the symbol of the Ushiromiya family head appeared on a certain desk in The Holy Britannian Empire. That desk belonged to the Emperor himself, Lelouch Vi Britannia. The letter was accompanied by no messenger. It simply appeared silently on the Emperor's desk, only noticed upon him turning around. As he did, a single golden butterfly took flight from atop the envelope before disappearing. Upon delicately opening the envelope, the contents of the letter within read: "It has been far too long, Emperor Lelouch. The Golden and Endless Witch, Beatrice herself has decided to personally write you this letter. As you may be aware, Rokkenjima has found itself in armed conflict with China. Although we have already achieved massive territorial victories, things are nowhere close to over. We have looked to Britannia and taken notice to something. I am sure you see it as well. You and your Empire have gotten soft. You have lost Japan, willingly ceded New York City and half of the continent to the weakened United States. It is not a stretch to say Britannia has experienced massive decline in recent years. The Witch Council of Orbis is offering you this opportunity to recapture the former glory of The Holy Britannian Empire. Take up arms with us in China and expand your influence, or isolate yourselves as your power and land continue to whittle away. If you are interested, the Witch Council has invited you to attend a conference on the island of Rokkenjima at your earliest convenience to discuss things further. An invitation has been sent to the new government of Calondia as well. We sincerely hope you are able to attend." - The Golden and Endless Witch of Rokkenjima, Beatrice1 point

Absolutely not. Wars would become very much impossible to win other than inactivity and no-alliance raids. Say there was a global between Bloc A and Bloc B. In this scenario, Bloc A would lose all their attacks against B, and win all their defenses against B. Bloc B would lose all attacks against A and vice-versa. You're basically asking for World War 1 but worse.1 point

As the guy who gave Vacaid the idea that he would lead an Anti-Sphinx resistance, I can certainly say this turned out even better than expected. Original resistance discord, there's some really funny stuff in here: https://discord.gg/xU4aV21 point

Hmm, I like that idea. I didn't have a name for it before (lol) that was good, so I went with this one. Perhaps Orbis Health Organization? Idk what do you think about that one?1 point

Maybe rename to “Center for Disease Control” or something similar? Beyond that, I love the idea.1 point

It's a bad idea not just for that reason but also - more importantly - because it has the potential to completely disrupt an alliance's entire econ system. If bank officers can't access the bank screen while blockaded, they can't get aid to their members. Members shouldn't suffer because of an officer being blockaded.1 point

I would like to propose the removal of inactives from the alliance score and member count the same way that vacation members do not count towards it. This would make alliance score more indicative of their actual power, instead of allowing alliances to overinflate their score and member count, and would no longer count those inactives when calculating bank loot. Another benefit is that alliances that are almost completely inactive would no longer show up in the alliance recruitment page since they wouldn't meet the score threshold meaning new players are less likely to attempt to join them only to end up quitting because no one accepts them. Vacation mode members are already treated this way, so I think inactives should be as well since people on vacation mode are more likely to return than them anyways. The term of inactivity I propose for this to take effect is 14 days, the time when you are moved to grey.1 point

White peace has been established between Aurora, NWSRFE (plus ally Pantheon), Mandalore and Trinity Bloc (TCM, CHB, ND). Terms of Peace: Aurora understands that its first war with TCM did not have a CB (as it was for training purposes). CHB understands it should've told Aurora they were in talks to form a bloc ahead of time as to avoid confusion. All parties involved agree that they are, to some extent, at fault. All parties agree to a white peace. All current wars are to be finished. All parties agree to a 6 month NAP. Signatories: Aurora: Kan/Pyth NWSRFE: Fain Mandalore: Darth Vader Pantheon: Big G Trinity Bloc: Jack/Nokia1 point

This comes down to using alex's dev time wisely. Yes baseball could be fixed. Is it worth the effort at the cost of other things like a buff to navy or search boxes taking nation/alliance ids, not so much.1 point

This has gone for 9+ pages? wow. I haven't bothered reading every single shit here since everyone is pretty much repeating themself, but as someone who has experienced both a raiding/farming life and a succesful one if i were to say, let me teach you guys something. 1. Are you hurting arrgh? Are you damaging arrgh? Probably not, Are you refraining them from making money? Yes, Do they care? some do, some dont. 2. Is this worth it? Obviously not, Picking a fight with arrgh has no benefits nor a good reason to do at all, The only legitimate/good reason that one could have is to have fun. Thats all there is to it. If you plan to war arrgh then the most thing you could do is to be annoying. What do I mean by "being annoying"? Well, Perma blockading, beige cycling, Staying online at their daychange and kill their stuff when they try to buy/double buy. Making sure they dont get out of blockade by having a decent amount of ships and so on. This is to prevent them from making any money at all. Will they care? most will, others wont. is this economically worth it? No, obviously not. Will you end up taking more damage than what arrgh does? Of course, Are you still willing to do it? thats your own decision. If you want to achieve something, Keep this war with arrgh for at least 6+ months. Keep the perma blockades/beige cyclings consistent. Only then might you see yourself hurting arrgh. Are you able to afford a 6+ months war with arrgh? I dont know, is it worth it? no, you'll get eaten by others alive while you're busy with arrgh. Thats all from me.1 point

Ey now, I just wanted to give you the opportunity to plug your zero-tax alliance don't be so grumpy about it 😐1 point

You don't care about your infra because your alliance will reimburse damages anyway. That's a really irresponsible way to look at things. Alliances entrust their members with funds and their government with funding decisions. The funds belong to the alliance and its members. Not caring how these are spent is like not caring about the very fact members are taxed (being stolen money for a common goal [that does not exist, in this case]). The said members: https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=230114 (inactive since August, 7 cities) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=138153 (inactive/ no-raids declared since August, 6 cities) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=242546 (inactive since beginning of September, 3 cities) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=244183 (inactive, no raids/wars ever declared, 2 cities) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=243607 (inactive, no raids/wars ever declared, 2 cities) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=241227 (inactive, no raids/wars ever declared, 2 cities) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=241839 (inactive, no raids at all, 5 cities) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=243098 (inactive, no raids/wars ever declared, 2 cities) https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=245297 (inactive, no raids/wars ever declared, 2 cities) We mostly removed just the new players that joined for a few days and never played again. tl;dr: 3 weeks and counting, with not a single pirate/raider being removed from Arrgh. You are close though. We will surrender soon and get a loan to rebuild.1 point

Actually you haven't stated any damage goals, just blustered about "as much damage as possible". That's not so much of a concrete goal as an intent. Meanwhile, you've also said that there's such a thing as "enough" damage... so which is it? So, wait... you've got a 3 strike policy against raiders? Are you therefore saying that T$ can declare two wars against you before you'll even counter? @Shiho Nishizumi gib raid dispensation pls First off, no, Swamp has spent billions on this war. That money is gone, it pouf, bai bai. It's not coming back. It's been expended on the battlefield, which means it wasn't invested into further growth. Now, certainly those losses are well within your ability to absorb... but that's still billions in opportunity cost; that is to say, you could have used those billions on cities. So, while you will easily rebuild to where you were infrastructure-wise, you'll never be able to catch up with where you would have been if you'd invested economically as opposed to militarily. Second, Arrgh doesn't 'rebuild'. And they sure as heck don't need loans, which is good since nobody in their right mind would extend a loan to a pirate. I mean, what, do you think they're gonna need a hundred million dollars each to get their commerce back up to 114% to comply with alliance policy? bruh They're not even struggling now lol1 point
-
Let's say that your official bloc-wide war goal is for: a. Arrgh to make no money/get max damage, b. no matter the cost for you, c. forever. What's the "political" goal you expect to achieve with this? To put on pressure for Arrgh to never raid you again? To end piracy altogether forever in Orbis? To get reparations? Or the damage is the end-goal per se suddenly, because some of your leaders got kinda sad they were actually the ones being raided for once, instead of your members?1 point

Alliance militaries would be a mechanic to help defensive nations in a war. It would allow them to gather soldiers from other nations in their alliance, but only if the nation agreed to it. There would also be a maximum amount of troops you could get from other nations. This would be more true to life because in pnw, you have to blitz someone with 3 wars to get a true counter. But in real life, such as in the Korean War, the UN brought troops from different countries that did not necessarily declare war on their own, but with the United Nations. In order for it to not be overpowered, there would be a certain limit on the amount of troops, and the troops would be put back in each nation after the war is over, but some of them might not go back to the original nation because they were killed in fighting. This mechanic would only be able to apply to the nation on the defensive side in alliances. What do all of you think? I would love to hear from you, and I accept any criticism on this topic.0 points

prices back in the younger times of P&W was cheaper than the prices we have today, can I suggest you add a discount for new nations in a certain time frame in the trade market? This would really help new nations out much when joining P&W.0 points
