  1. Our Secret War The Clouds Are Heavy and Are Red With Blood, Caked To Our Face Is The Sacred Mud. We Fight This War For We Have Not Won, We Pull the Trigger and We Watch Them Run. Our Loss is Many and Our Goal Is None, We Go For Hours Until it's Done. They Always Ask Us Why We Stay To Fight, We Look Upon Them and We Close Our Eyes. They Took Our Children and They Took Our Wives, That is the Reason Why We Fight to Die. Don't You Ask Me To Say Their Names, For I Will Fall and Cry in Shame. If You Know What War I Mean, Do Not Read On, Spare the Need. This Mighty War That I Speak Of Now, I Call it Love, it Has Thrown Us Down. We had a Declaration of War all nice and ready to go but it looks like Pantheon was more eager than us! So, here’s our DoW turned RoH…. For those of you who followed the events in Knightfall, this probably won’t come as much of a surprise. Many of you have been speculating for days this would happen and you guessed correctly. Here we stand, ready to fight. We hope this conflict will be a fun one for everyone involved. As an aside, what we’re looking for in this war is for it to be as fair of a fight as we can make it and we believe it is fair as things currently stand. We know that some of you may be interested in raiding Pantheon but we ask that, at least while this war is ongoing, you respect this as a legitimate conflict and allow this to play out as it otherwise would. Nova Riata and The Federation declare war on recognize hostilities with Pantheon. Best of luck to Pantheon. We hope you guys enjoy the war. Signed for Nova Riata Overking of the Sea: Pooball Hand of the Overking: Uriah the Fox Viceroy of the Sea: Beans Signed for The Federation King: Kosta Prince: George the Destroyer P.S. Thank you to the select Chaos members for providing help with the unreachable high-tier nations.

  4. The great Gods of Pantheon watched as the internal fires burned, Matthew frantically running about with a water pistol trying to put them out. “You know what we need?” said Matthew, now lacking eyebrows, “A war”. Rawr and Nomi both shrugged, decided fck it, might was well. They then went about figuring war out. As they were 90 percent stupid, 10 percent good at their respective jobs, 0 percent people who should be taking an alliance to war. The targets then made themselves known. Nova Riata led by the fearsome Pooball was in a pesky mood for revenge. For what we had no idea. Probably something lame. They had boosted their military… a lot fold. Their score had jumped up. Pooball had constantly reminded me that he would nuke me someday (plz no). “Sure, why not.” rawr decided. The Federation was led by… Kosta, cool dude I guess, and they too wanted revenge. Revenge for never getting invited to our League nights. They too went about not sneakily massing troops and score. If they were ninjas it would be the Naruto kind. “Screw it” went rawr. (Or maybe not, but I already wrote all these jokes so this paragraph stays >:^( It was then that I wondered why rawr was so nonchalant about these wars. She’s going to Endgame at turn change. Cri. TLDR: Figure it out for yourselves yeet. (Is it just me or is our flag a lil big. No matter.)

  5. Sorry for interrupting your raid then. I hope Pantheon / NR-TF get peace soon enough, so that you get to raid (and get countered by) Pantheon on your own. Jokes aside, getting in the middle of a gentlemen's fight is rude. And wearing the "raider" mask whenever it is convenient for you is also not nice. Either you get to be a full-time raider, true to your values, or just an opportunist. You and @Malal may want to join Arrgh soon enough though, so sorry if I am missing something.

  7. That would require the choice to activate optional aggression. Part of me would have liked to see how well Nova Riata held up on their own in this but I can completely understand why Panth is currently getting dragged right now. I admire the acceptance of fate, here. This is an almost befittingly tragic outcome for an alliance based on Greek Mythology. Where you're not a true hero until you've committed some style of self-destruction.

  8. Take it easy on @Alexio15, he doesn’t know any better. If anything we should be giving words of encouragement. Good attempt @Alexio15. Picking raid targets can be tough and spinning is even tougher. You’ll get ‘em next time.

  11. Currently, cities increase in population linearly as a function of age until they reach 4 years of age, at which point the bonus is capped. It was capped because the discrepancy between old cities and new cities is almost a 50% bonus for the old cities, and the idea was just really poorly thought out (or not thought out) to begin with. This proposal would change the population calculation in cities in a way that would benefit everyone: Cities would grow forever as a function of age. There would no longer be an arbitrary cap. Cities would grow faster when they're younger, and slower as they're older. This will prevent a "runaway" effect for older players, and help newer nations catch up compared to the status quo. Everyone would see an increase in city population as a result of this change. That means increased income for everyone, there would be only winners and no losers, with the biggest winners being young cities. We can represent the existing formula and the proposed formula graphically to see the difference clearly: Where i = infrastructure, and on the x-axis we're looking at the age of the city in years. You can see the purple line is current population as a function of city age, whereas the black line is the proposed population formula as a function of age. We're ignoring factors like disease, pollution, crime, etc. here because they're the same in both instances. As you can see, for everyone with cities less than 4 years of age, it's a pretty significant increase in population to match things up closer to older cities. For a city at 4 years of age (it's not 100% exact but it's damn close) there would be no difference. For cities over 4 years of age, they're capped at that value currently, so they would increase along the black line to some value higher than what they are currently capped at. The slope of the black line decreases as the city gets older, thus the rate of population increase decreases as a function of age. Therefore cities can age forever and increase in the bonus forever with only marginal benefit. This is both satisfying for older cities as they do see some growth, while also not being overpowered. I would expect everyone to support this change, but I've been wrong before and so I'm posting the suggestion here for feedback first. Please offer your comment and feel free to use the upvote/downvote to indicate your support/non-support. Thanks!

  14. This game is inherently conflict driven, so yes. If everyone started holding hands and singing kum ba ya, then user generated content that drives the IC dynamics forward (which is what a significant portion are here for) would pretty much end immediately. That said, there’s a fine line between being antagonistic, playing ‘the villain’ etc., and being a dumbass like Akuryo and coming off as a petulant child who thinks everyone but them is retarded. The latter isn’t fun for about anyone, it isn’t playing the villain, it isn’t making the meta any more interesting. (I will say this. They have done a spectacular job of pissing people off. It’s the means that I have an issue with.)

  15. It's not about being positive about pantheon, it's about keeping the community alive by keeping a positive attitude with respect to any alliance, even if they may be in a sad state of affairs like pantheon is. 'Why does anyone care about you again?' isn't a great way to keep this community alive, a positive attitude makes this game more fun instead of constantly telling people they are garbage which seems to be all you do on the forums. Hence, positive attitude, as usual.

  17. Well actually, the cancelation period was activated 3 days prior to us announcing the treaty cut. We knew that, Pantheon knew that and now you do, congrats! Now to the topic at hand... uh good luck here Panth, hope you can achieve your goal here, whatever that may be.

  21. It was obvious that Nova and The Federation were gearing up for war, just had to look at their militerisation. But hats off to Pantheon to at least catching them by surprise, rather than waiting for a Blitzing by TF and Nova.

  22. This suggestion is in conjunction with making cities slightly more expensive by adding a resource price. This project will exclusively cost resources, and lower city costs dramatically at the time of purchase. The purpose of this project is to make cities easier to buy in the long run, and allow for newer players to catch up to the city counts of older players while creating an increased demand in resources. City Planning Project Reduces city costs by up to $50,000,000 Can be purchased anytime after you have 11 cities Cost: 10,000 Coal 10,000 Oil 20,000 Aluminum 10,000 Munitions 10,000 Gas 700,000 Food These cost totals work to be around 165M for the project with the numbers Sheepy provided me for "desired" market prices. This project will have nearly paid for itself after 3 cities in that environment. In the current market you're looking at about a 120M price tag, so it's fully paid off at 3 cities and netting profit. The reason this is only available after 11 cities is because city 12 is the first city above $50M. with Manifest destiny the city cost would be $0 after this project. Advanced City Planning Project Reduces city costs by up to $100,000,000 Can be purchased anytime after you have 16 cities Requires City Planning Cost: 10,000 Uranium 20,000 Steel 40,000 Aluminum 2,000,000 Food These cost totals work to be around 306M for the project with the numbers Sheepy provided for "desired" market prices. The current market costs put it around 223M, again making this project having had paid for itself after 2-3 city purchases. Like the previous project, city 17 is the first city above $150M (50 mil already taken off for basic city project) thus after both of these projects are purchased city 17 would cost 21M, or 12M with Manifest destiny (assuming sheepy applies MD to the pre-discount %) EDIT: To be clear, these project bonuses stack. With both cities will cost $150,000,000 less

  24. I don't think you've thought the projects through. The cost reduction is a flat rate, not a % discount, and as such it benefits smaller nations far more than it benefits larger nations. The cost reduction for a player with 11 Cities who has the City Planning National Project is $50,000,000 off of their next city which costs $51,725,000. That's a 96.665% cost reduction for a nation with 11 cities. A player with 15 cities who has the City Planning National Project is $50m off of their next city which costs $112,025,000. That's only a 44.633% discount, which comparatively is less than half the discount a nation with 11 cities gets. To put things into even better perspective, a nation with 30 cities with the City Planning National Project gets $50m off of their next city which costs $1,224,025,000. That's a 4.085% discount. Less than a 5% discount would give them. Hopefully it's obvious how this project is hugely beneficial for nations with low amounts of cities, and not that useful for nations with already high city counts. No. I don't see why this would be made retroactive; that would mean building the project would have to give you a cash refund of $50m * # of Cities over 11 for City Planning, and similarly $100m * # of Cities over 16 for the Advanced City Planning project. Why would we have a project give you a straight cash payout? It's a trade-off, you don't have to build the project, and if you choose not to then you don't get the reduced city prices. Large nations may not even bother with purchasing these projects if they don't expect their future city growth to be more than 1 or 2 cities as they won't pay for themselves.

  25. The OWF would get real boring real quick if the only content people were posting were ‘nice’ things about one another. In fact, I would argue that doing this would be far more damaging to the community than Akuryo waltzing around talking out of their ass and acting self-important.

  31. This proposal is pretty straightforward: Increase the minimum daily login bonus from $100,000 to $200,000. Increase the rate at which the bonus increases daily to $50,000 / day from $20,000 / day. Increase the regular maximum for the bonus from $300,000 to $500,000 and increase the new player maximum (less than 60 days old) from $600,000 to $1,000,000. It's a 66.6% increase in daily login bonus income for the average active player ($300K->500K). For new players who login every day for 60 days, they go from getting a cumulative $29,500,000 in the status quo to $53,200,000. Since it's a flat-income bonus, it primarily helps smaller nations growing, and not larger nations. Here's a spreadsheet with calculations: I'm looking for feedback as well as gauging community opinion (feel free to use upvotes/downvotes for that.) Thanks!

However, what many may not know is that it is during these elephant rides that much great thinking is done, not only about their stench but also about life in Orbis. One of these recent rides caused us to look up at the stars and ponder existence. While gazing up at the shimmering lights up above, one thing became obvious: It was time to seek out the elusive Solar Knights. Article I: Non-Aggression Because neither party is entirely full of dumbfricks, the undersigned agree to abstain from any deliberate action contrary to the well-being of either signatory. Any and all issues that arise will be resolved in a timely manner through diplomatic channels (including but not limited to carrier elephants) Article II: Mutual Defense Should the Carthaginian mercenaries or Space Forces come under siege, or should others attempt take out the sun or stars and generally threaten the galactic balance, the signatories agree to intervene militarily, politically and, if they desire, economically to assist the other in their defence against the intergalactic aggressors. Article III: Intelligence Sharing If pertaining intel arrives that any sneaky group is attempting to harness the elephants’ farts for personal gain, or the balance of the universe is threatened (particularly through shitty meme-ing), the undersigned agree to inform the other party as soon as reasonably possible. Article IV: Non-Chaining Much like in zero gravity, both signatories believe that elephants need to be cage-free, with the freedom to roam the brothels grasslands as they please. In the event that a signatory is attacked as a result of their fulfillment of third-party obligations, Article II of this treaty is to be considered optional. Article V: Cancellation If the elephants go rogue or the stars misalign, either signatory may provide 69 hour notice prior to the termination of this pact. The terms of the treaty remain enforceable until this termination period has elapsed. Article V: Mutual Shit Sniffing Representatives from both signatory parties (read: Carthago Knights, or Solar Elephant) must post in affirmation of the other when they make official public notifications on the forums. Notification that a post shall be posted must be given in private, and if a post is made on the behalf of one signatory (CTO or SK) in conjunction with a third party, the signatories of this agreement are still required to post in affirmation of the other in the thread, however they are not required to post nice things about said third party. A minimum of two [2] upvote reactions must be given to the OP (opening post, or Original post) of such public notifications on the Orbis public alliance forums in the first 27 hours once posted.
