[Statement] A Bad Joke

First off, I'm going to reiterate what I said within our FA Server. Usually I treat the OPSEC nature of diplomatic exchanges with the due seriousness, and I'd say the vast majority of Orbis would agree. I initially posted the terms provided to us by House Stark on their behalf of their coalition within our server because it's never been my style to make a spectacle of things and I hate posting on the OWF beyond what I determine is necessary, as it were, nor sharing beyond the scope of who needs to be aware.

That being said, the circumstances that occurred yesterday are an exception to this principle in my eye - because they're frankly absurd, and I deem it in the public interest people are aware of the contents, so I'll also offer my thoughts on the matter here and what I specifically take issue with. Assuming they're willing to take this in good faith, I don't believe it would be necessary to further take this publicly.
 

1. The terms themselves.

I would argue these terms were clearly presented in bad faith, as demonstrated by the preface where they state "I'm pretty sure I know what it'll be" regardless of them being.

The contents of the terms themselves are subject to debate, but from my perspective they aim to be incredibly punishing

2. They spoke on behalf of a party that no interest nor standing in the matter per their own statement.

If you'll recall, we agreed to split the OWR shares in question between us, and you didn't mind that then.

I can understand trying to get the most out of your case, but this seems deliberate malpractice to me, once more.

3. House Stark openly said they would be considering the damages themselves as the reparations of the conflict.

I mean, pick a lane? You can't have it both ways.

TLDR: I'm sorry, what? Is this a bad joke?

You can always tell when an alliance wins its first war by itself, because it thinks pulling shit like this is doable.  Aurora did the same thing a few months ago.

You would think an alliance as old as HS would know better than this, but I guess not.

While I will agree that are terms are a bit hardline, we’ve been working with you guys to the best of our abilities to come to a more amicable agreement. I don’t see how we are acting in “bad faith” when we try to have a mature conversation.

After being able to discuss things with Piggy, we’ve been willing to negotiate in a respectful manner and narrow things down.

I’ve even attempted to agree to the conditions you yourself asserted upon us, but you unfriended me before I could even agree to them.

As far as the situation regarding Legion, we have willingly negotiated out the term entirely, along with a good number of our other terms. We were willing to negotiate it out from the start, and after being able to have a conversation, it has been negotiated out. 
 

As far as the third claim, the interview was on 6/11, almost a full month ago. Positions have changed throughout the war, and the comment was made prior to terms being drafted in any form. Sentiment at the time of the interview would be that you guys would be completely unwilling to negotiate, and that seems to have checked out for some of you.

I know the last sentence is a joke, but i'll respond seriously: 2-3 years ago when there were rumours of them rejoining the game (specifically them talking about their bans expiring) piggy claimed the name so that they couldn't rejoin and have their name back, as a form of 'f you in particular'

As for the rest of your message, I tend to agree. Though i'd call this a guardian victory, considering they contributed the most per war (roughly 2x HS's).

Micros being micros, what did anyone expect? Having a high alliance score doesn't eliminate the micro mentality from an alliance. I expected HS to demand the 8b tbh. What really gets me is them saying CTO can't farm for 2 months. Did HS really expect this to not leak and everyone to not clown on them? If they didn't expect this exact response with those terms then they really are out of touch.

question. is the no producing food including trying to get them to destroy existing farms? the whole thing is punitive as a partial rebuild would make the payment go faster as would letting them build new farms but destroying existing farms is some next level evil

Yeah the no farming for 2 months is an absolute deal breaker, no alliance would ever accept it and it shows how petty House Stark is.

I'm loving the public spin to try and make these initial terms to be discussed look as unreasonable as possible. Props to you guys for going the route of swaying public opinion instead of coming to the negotiation table, kind of like how it kickstarted this entire debacle when you approached us with an offer then revoked it and gave us an insulting one without any evidence backing it months later after taking any form of negotiation off the table. The money is solely an attempt at a formal dissolution of the bank at the original numbers provided to us, which was expected to be negotiated. The scar of NPOLT has everyone jittery whenever "reparations" are brought up despite the fact this whole war was kicked off due to us not coming to a resolution over the payment to HS. It isn't some cruel punishment but a reconciliation of accounts.

The food clause can be argued, but was added due to the prevalence of availability of food and would help the long-term pricing due to supply/demand. The rest are meme clauses.

Not to mention no farming is basically a guarantee that we'll be at war again.

Getting absolutely every member of a large(ish) alliance on the same page is difficult. Whether it be a current member or a new recruit someone would break that term for us without even knowing it existed.

A cap on how much food we can produce is manageable. A straight up ban isn't.
