He said he was a "Democratic Socialist"......... I guess after he takes our homes, he will put an American flag on the front lawn

Peace will never be accomplished without war, but war cannot happen without peace.... or something like that idk

I dont think he will get that far honestly. I heard that he wants to tax wealthy people over 90% and disband the police or something stupid like that. Kinda funny how Black Lives Matter attacked his speech on stage, they sound like they would get together just nice

I like Bernie Sanders and his principles and the fact that he's an independent. I think that if the Hillary e-mails destroys her, Bernie will become the Democrat's front runner.

We've got a GOP controlled Congress, though. The President can only do so much, and the Republicans would have a heydey with his values. "He's a socialist" strikes a chord with most Americans that's going to make them strongly dislike Sanders, imo.

This is why we elected Bush twice.

He has no chance unless Trump loses the nomination though Hillary is in much the same boat. He is a socialist in America so red flags immediately, but worse his portrayal will be one of a weak old man who can be pushed around by anybody. His enemies will play to that and eradicate his support with ease. They'll say that he is too weak to stand up to foreign countries, the unions, protesters, and so on.

I'm somewhat perplexed why those Black Lives Matter people decided to sabotage the only candidate who might actually care about their issues. I hope the the moment in the limelight was worth it.

Bernie would beat Trump if he got the Democrat nomination. http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/30/politics/bernie-sanders-donald-trump-poll/

Hillary is the only person in his way, unless Biden runs. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/us/2016_democratic_presidential_nomination-3824.html

He has a small chance, just hope the Clinton's emails become a big legal issue.

He wants to tax the wealthy people's private islands because they are still part of America.

Also, he is going to try to get college more affordable.

Polls like that are quite pointless at the end of the day especially as that was before the black lives matter incident too. Nothing sticks to Trump and he would make mince meat out of Sanders propaganda wise. "Weak, weak, weak" will be one of the rallying cry against him I'd say.

As pointless as suggesting you know who would beat who, a full year plus out from the election.

But since we are offering our own opinions. If anything Sanders would destroy Trump. He's been in politics for almost 40 years, his campaign is funded by the people for the people, he has worked for civil rights of all races of people. He wants to expand medicare to all people, guarantee 14 weeks of maternity leave for new parents (we are the only first world country that does not do this), raise the minimum wage to a livable wage of $15 an hour, make college free to everyone that works their ass off in school. His supreme court nom would also have to promise to repeal citizens united.

Now lets compare that to Trump. He's a billionaire that has bankrupted his companies 3-4 times. He has no experience leading anything but himself. He thinks he is batman and doesnt have any actual ideas just ''I'm going to make America great again.'' Lets not forget the fact Trump has totally lost the Latino vote and seems to be a bit racist. He wants Mexico to build a war and have them pay for it? But he's already pissed off El Chapo and thats not gonna happen in his country.

Trump doesn't care about "losing" voters who were going to vote the other way no matter what he said based on tribal party politics, nor should he. He'd chew Sanders up in the propaganda war and while yes you can say his funded campaign might be nicer then the usual (Hillary for example), Trump has him beat even in that area as he has after all already positioned himself as a man too rich to bribe.

Again your opinion not an actual statement of fact here. While I support Bernie I do not deny he is an expert at dodge questions. So whatever skill you think trump has in the political arena will be Trumped by Bernie's four decades of experience. He is also drawing the biggest crowds out of anybody running republican or dem.

Now like i said we are a whole year plus two months away from the election. But most polls coming in have Bernie wiping the floor with trump.

I'm just going to point out that this early in the race, polls don't really matter. I mean, we all know Trump isn't going to be the president. I would say right now, the Republican nominee is most likely going to be Walker or Rubio. Unless, of course, Walker gets kicked out for his corrupt past. Of course, there's always the chance of an upset in either party. Here's some quotes:

"He doesn't stand a chance, he's too radical"

"There's no way he'll beat Hillary, she's had this race in the bag ever since the beginning"

Those quotes aren't about Bernie Sanders, they're about Barack Obama.

You have a talent for understatement friend.

The issue with a Bernie versus Trump election would be that a fair number of sore Hillary supporters would just stay home. Trump is just a shitty meme at this point, but that could be enough to carry him through the electoral college.

The best part is going to be when he doesn't get the GOP nomination, runs independent, and splits the Republican vote - which results in a Democratic victory. :P Edited by Kurdanak

Trump hasn't even seriously aimed his guns at Sanders yet. What do you think happens when he does (which he will if both win their nominations)? Socialist, doormat, a party that doesn't actually support his views, loads of targets and that is ignoring any more that may develop in time. Trump on the other hand has up to this point seemingly got away with with stuff that would kill most others dead.

Someone like Trump doesn't have to beat Sanders in a civilized, organized, extensive, factual debate so it is quite irrelevant if Sanders has 40 years experience. Trump will tear him apart in the propaganda war, and will bombast his way through any debates/speeches/questions.

Worth noting no doubt as a sign there is a group of people out there who believe in what he says. However in the grand scheme of things it doesn't mean anything.

He has the very left of his party in his thrall yes but what of the centre/right of it? What about independent voters? Won't he be so repugnant to Republican voters that'll he'll make those who might have otherwise stayed at home go vote? When it comes down to it how many democrat voters will stay at home and not vote because of him?

Honestly, I don't see this changing his current supporters' opinions. Many of the current Sanders supporters are strongly for him, which is in contrast to the population of uninformed voters who would simply say they would vote for x candidate. The proof is that they have to be strongly by him. He's not an ordinary candidate because he you said so yourself, he is a socialist in America. The only thing I'm trying to say is that the people who support Sanders are not going to go away because his opposition tries to bring him down a notch.

Anyone saying that Bernie isn't fit to run/win hasn't studied politics in the last 80 years. If he beats Hillary, one of the most corrupt and "Skeleton in the Closet" candidates,  he'll win. Why? Because of the recovery of the recession. almost every time there's a recession, and recovery, people vote for the same party that was president, and got them out of the recession.

Besides that the split between the repubs, is largely indicative of a ailing right-wing. Obama won twice, even with some of the most democrats in any election supporting the republicans. These problems and unwillingness to change, or even compromise has split the average voter. If that wasn't enough, there's a whole huge part of the voter body that would vote for sanders, especially because of his increased tax on rich/the amount of welfare he endorses. moreover, another reason is his appearance. he's old and that resonates with the older voting class. he's got experience and even the track record of votes to back him up. The only problem he really faces is getting the nomination, if he wins a few states, and coverage increases, it'll be the domino effect.

Most voters disenfranchised by past elections like Bernie as well. he's been spouting the same ideals for years now, and people are starting to notice.

As for trump, if he gets the nomination, it will literally show that the class warfare in america is entirely alive and well, and that'd bring out more "Occupy" protesters to bernie's side, for the simple fact that he doesn't support the rich.

Beyond this, Congress is set to turn blue this next election, so i wouldn't worry about that.

Bernie Sanders would easily be the worst President in our history. He would be in-league with Andrew Johnson. Besides the fact he a socialist and is out of league with at least 50 percent of Americans he is best known for the following statement. "My way or the highway." If you want a complete government shutdown, you will get a complete government shutdown. Moreover Sander's goal is to basically ruin anyone who makes over 50k a year. He would be an utter nightmare and I pray to god he gets the nominations. He would be so gloriously easy to defeat.
