  1. As I was in one of the many alliance servers, I found myself confronted with this message I thought. Oh god? How can people reject such a great idea? I decided to join for myself to see the beauty. As soon as joining I noticed some small spelling mistakes but I imagined that such a great Union could not be dismantled by just a small error! We immediately started to do big boy business and help each other in major conflicts. I was so excited to see that one of the most important members of the union needed help and was so sad that some guy attacked him for no rson Members of the lame stream media started complaining of the genius plans we were concucting and started spouting fake news, ruining the ideology. Luckily our inspirational leader chose to continue with his project and explaining to us the complcated tactics that we could not understand. It was really a merging of knowledge and intelligence! Such nobilty, such passion. I was so surprised! Nokia Rokia and WarNet classified as visitors? There must be a mistake! There is no way that such a great and experienced group could do such mistakes. And where was my role? It was obvious that one of the secretaries had done some mistakes so I decided to report the issue to our superior leaders so that they could help us I complained, of course, so that the incompetent secretaries could be fired and would be stopped from ruining this. I was surprised! Que s'est-il passé? How was this possible? I assumed that Mr. Cat had been hacked by one of the incompetent secretaries and decided I wanted to help him! = I mobilitized to stop the hack but then noticed that the serious negotiations had once again started! Amazing! Merging, seems like a very political word so I like that I guess. What was going on? Such intricated politics and diplomacy! I was fascinated by how well it was going! Our leader is taking decisions and I can't wait to see the outcome! I'll keep you updated on this amazing union! What a logo too

  2. So we have every single option for how to manage alliance taxes. But we're missing one that every single alliance can utilize at one point or another. Introducing "Add Everyone to Tax Bracket"! We have a way to add people based on city count. However in alliances that have 15+ different city counts it's tedious and fills the alliance activity feed with nonsense. By have a "Move all" option alliances can move from peacetime taxes to wartime taxes without tediously going through and manually changing every single person or city count. It also give the use to having different tax brackets listed out. Otherwise people just have 1 tax bracket and change the values for that single bracket. By having multiple brackets and moving all members at once you can simple have tax brackets listed as: 25/25 Peace 50/50 War 80/80 Debt Repays 100/100 Inactive And move everyone all at once.

  3. Probably our final update The UN disbanded and, even though I believed so much in the project, I had to take action because of how our great leader had turned against us I was ready for a disheartening vote And there, I could already imagine Mr Hassan walking towards the noose. I was afraid we were going too far but that was the onlyway we could get rid of the civil rights breaker once and for all Arrgh, as per usual, gave their opinion in an extremely serious way. Even though it wasn't really orthodox, I still accepted it. Slowly, we all came to realise that this idealistic and truly inspiring union was reaching its unfortunate end... I had to give the final sentence and declare the democratic decision officially... Everyone was obviously heartbroken Everyone was extremely sad and took everything very seriously. Here, I'm afraid this is going to be the last update on this glorious union.

  4. Preface Before I dive into this, I just want to mention that this post is really a rough draft. I won't be mentioning too much about the specifics of the content of the tutorial. Instead, this is a redesign of the implementation of a tutorial. If this idea is popular, I may start adding specific tutorial content into it with a future post. Main Issue When new players join P&W, they often tend to leave the game within the first month as there is a lack of guidance and purpose for them in the game. It can be overwhelming and players may feel lost. The current Tutorial and Objectives are inadequate in dealing with this. Thus, the purpose of this post is to create a new Tutorial system that will hopefully increase new player retention and competence in P&W (basic concepts and lingo). The best tutorials are those that integrate gameplay. Therefore, the tutorial system that I am aiming for is supposed to provide a sense of purpose through meaningful objectives for new players in P&W. However, the tutorial is not designed to teach you every single thing about more advanced gameplay. This is not a replacement for a proper Internal Affairs department in an established alliance. Outline Create an alliance solely for new players - The Orbis Defense Initiative (ODI) Create a category in the official P&W server for ODI so they can communicate Create an alliance solely made of bots - The Sibro Invasion Force (SIF) Sibro is just the reverse of Orbis 30-day tutorial that teaches ODI (new players) the basics of how to build their nation, use the market, and fight their "mortal enemies" in SIF. Note: These are just random names for referencing purposes. Details When you join this game, you get assaulted by player-created recruitment messages without knowing anything about the game. Many new players choose not to join any alliances because of this "spam." However, these same players soon lose interest as there is not much for them to do, or so they believe since they have no guidance. Furthermore, in-game communication isn't really enough to keep you hooked on the community, and that is a large part of the appeal to the game. My idea is to provide guidance via an alliance for new players only. All new nations will automatically spawn in The Orbis Defense Initiative. As the first part of the tutorial, they will be strongly encouraged, albeit not required, to join the P&W discord server where they can communicate with other players and ODI members. This way, they can get connected to the main P&W community sooner and be less likely to feel lost in the game. This is very important so that these new players can immediately interact with real people. This will increase the likelihood of someone staying in the game. Next, there should be a rival alliance to The Orbis Defense Initiative. I think this alliance should be an alliance made out of bots - The Sibro Invasion Force. The Sibro Invasion Force will have lore as the enemy of Orbis. They are a collective of nations that banded together to invade P&W’s planet of Orbis from their home world of Sibro. The Orbis Defense Initiative (new players) are a coalition of nations that have been tasked with the duty of defending the world of Orbis from this extraterrestrial threat. Why create the SIF? The idea here is to create a sense of purpose. We want our new players to have a reason to build military units and make sure they have enough income to support them. Before, the Objectives simply gave you a cash reward for buying soldiers. But, if you are a new player, there is nothing exciting about that. We need to create excitement. People play games to have fun. You want to teach new players how to play as well as keep them engaged. Throughout the tutorial, ODI members will gain cash rewards for completing their objectives. These objectives will be a combination of nation-building, trade, and war that will give new players a well-rounded P&W experience and tutorial. The final payout will be after they have defeated x number of SIF nations in combat. They should be able to reach 10 cities and 1500 infra and land per city, maybe even a few key projects as well. The entire tutorial will last 30 days. Throughout the 30-day ODI experience, players will receive notifications in-game telling them to complete objectives in preparation for their war assignment against SIF. The tutorial will show them the basics on how to build their nations. It should be easy to go back and access old parts of the tutorial, should a player (both old or new) need to. Eventually, at the 15-20 day mark, there should start to be war assignments against the bots in SIF. From there, the tutorial will teach new players the war system and they will learn by defeating SIF nations (which, again, are bots and so they are guaranteed to win). Neither ODI or SIF should show up on the Treaty Web or Alliance Rankings. Nations in ODI should be protected from other players. They can only go to war with SIF. New players should be given the choice to leave ODI, but if they do, they forfeit re-entry into ODI. After 30 days of existence, nations will automatically be kicked out of ODI and encouraged to join a real alliance or do whatever else they wish to do. Alternate Modification ODI might not have to be an alliance. It could just be the theme of the Tutorial. New players can still join any alliance or no alliance while being part of ODI and its initiative against SIF. So, if I were a new nation, I will have ODI Tutorial notifications. I can still join an alliance and be part of an alliance's community while learning the basics of the game. In this case, maybe new player beige should last 30 days. So, you will still have the protection from other players that the ODI alliance was supposed to give. You can fight SIF while in beige, but once you leave new player beige, you will be vulnerable to player wars as usual. Something like that. Only tutorial players should be able to attack SIF, essentially. Thanks @Lucianus for this modification suggestion.

  5. And the endeavor continues PROTEST he claimed, shining his bright power The president of the UN, the almighty leader, is speaking with the leader of the free world, making trade deals that will change our way of being While the lamestream media tries to discredit the great Union, borg defends the authority of the almighty Hassan and basically announces he was pronounced the leader of Orbis! KAZZAH! The Fake News will now have to respect the UN To avoid nuclear fallout, our leader the almighty starts announcing new ruling edicts prohibiting Nuclear attacks as offensives! What a great solution to prevent fallout! Again, our leader is improving the world every second The fake news media keeps contesting the authority of the great union but, the great Borg defends it and proclaims it has authority from everyone. Finally, everyone will have to kneel down. The UN is ina period of great confusion and, in the midst of all of this something sinister happens... Qui aurait attendu ça! What a twist! Arrgh that had refused to give representation to the union because of the alliance's values, has finally fournished the United Nations with it's official representation, in a quite unorthodox manner. Again, the UN thrives and manages to gather representation, recognition and authority from the largest alliances in Orbis. I'll keep you updated...

  6. *Bump* I know it’s probably not a big deal to the rest of Orbis, but we’re pleased to have made it to 2000 days today, especially with Quichwe, Johan and Zangi still in gov after all this time and TFP’s founder Cromwell back in our ranks. TFP are one of the 10 oldest alliances in Orbis now, have been enjoying record membership/score, and are one of the founding members of Swamp. All the best folks, am glad there’s still a place in Orbis for TFP, and that the game seems to be back on track.

  8. The point is that Under is a disliked and distrusted figure which automatically reduces the legitimacy/value of whatever he touches or is involved in. This isn't just because he was a jackass last war. This is also because he's inept and prone to trolling for the sake of it (this is simply overshadowed by the former). It's not for naught that his rep as a mod is far from stellar, and why the alliance he de-facto leads is a worthless husk. He has nothing worthwhile to contribute that only he could say, which is why people are even more baffled by you thinking that he'd make a good addition, especially in the face of criticism levied by people from virtually all the spheres which aren't tied to him. Once you have the time to do so, I'd suggest you sit down for a second, and reevaluate how much you think that you actually know about the game and the community which plays it. Because decisions like these, which are taken in spite of overwhelming opposition/disagreement from the community, come across as "I'm better informed than you lot, which is why I think that this is a good idea", which, to be blunt, you are not. And it's quite the arrogant position to think that you know better than the people who actually play the game and interact with the individuals you seemingly hold in high regard.

  10. Or whatever they are called. Right now, every time that I go to do any action with another nation, I'm bombarded with captchas and they are the most annoying shit ever. Here's my suggestion: turn them so when you do *repeat* actions, you are targeted, not when you do regular actions. For example, I should be able to go buy iron, and never get a captcha, however if I buy multiple Iron trades(3+) or multiple trades(2+ of 2 resources) the captcha should hit. Likewise if I attack 1 nation, it should work fine, but if I attack multiple ones, I should have to enter. Either way, I'm sick of getting them every couple seconds and it has actually caused me to stop doing what I was doing because I didn't want to enter it. They shouldn't feel like that. I've also had to enter them multiple times when buying on the market and I shouldn't have to do that either.

  11. Permit nukes and missiles to be launched at nations you're not at war with. As long as you're not bill-locked and you have a nuke and/or missile, you can launch a nuke or missile at any city. To get an idea what this is like, go to the BattleSims for missiles and nukes: https://politicsandwar.com/battlesim/nuke/ https://politicsandwar.com/battlesim/missile/ Similar to how you test a nuke or missile by entering in a city ID, you just enter in the city ID of the nation you want to nuke or missile. This feature can have it's own screen that you access from the 'Wars' tab using a button next to the 'Find Nations in War Range' button. It could say something like 'Launch Nuke or Missile'. To prevent abuse, you can only launch 1 nuke or missile every 12 turns. You also cannot launch at yourself, members of your alliance, members of allied alliances through in-game treaties, and nations you're already at war with (you have to hit them with nukes/missiles through the war screen with 8/12 MAPs like normal). You can only launch nukes at nations that fall within your war range. Perhaps this 'range' can be increased through a project (or the idea itself activated through a project). To further balance it out, perhaps doing this causes a 0.05% increase in crime for 120 turns for missiles, and a 0.20% increase in crime for nukes. This simulates increased unrest as people riot and protest about their nation committing this senseless act of aggression; at least in normal war we're already fighting the war we're missiling/nuking. This can be used to collect nuclear counties, and radiation damage that affects food production still apply. The 50% missile defense from Iron Dome and the 20% nuke defense from Vital Defense System still apply. This idea doesn't solve any problems, but it allows for more player freedom. People can troll with this, and the resulting drama can fuel politics and lead to interesting interactions and memes. Coordination during war with this can increase an alliance's damage output if their slots are filled but they have an excess of nukes/missiles they can use. Additionally, another alliance can avoid going directly going on the offensive, but can still help a front or an entire war by nuking a particular side's cities.

  13. Alex, fix the Captcha it sucks. It shouldn't take 50+ people to come together for you to fix something that sucks.

  14. My only problem with the Captcha is that it sometimes says i got it wrong when I know I didn't after doing 4 or 5 in a row, it has gotten to the point where I can tell which one is going to be marked as wrong before I even click verify.

  15. ight, so not going to comment on if it is a multi or not because we don't know as well, we are trying to figure it out, if the member is actually a multi then our apologize should have checked better, my fault for letting thing like this slip. However, this member just joined us 3 4 days ago, so to accuse us of spying is uncalled for, like if we really want to spy we will at least get it pass our own bot.

  18. As far as I know he doesn't have anything to contribute. However I have additional evidence after doing some further digging after I went to sleep. This screenshot was taken from Error 404's Discord and they have many of their members listed by their nation and ID. This shows that his main account is Great Nooban Empire and that he is a member of E404. The Homework Folder role is what I believe to be their "Member" role. That being said, I don't believe that he could be Great Nooban Empire in E404's server, and then try to be Kingdom of Bulgaria in ours. It just doesn't make sense. (Also, not saying that is the case, but this seems to be further evidence that E404 is asking members to make multis in order to spy on other alliances, as we have had another encounter with a different nation similar to this situation, but there was insufficient evidence to say that the nation that was applying was in fact a multi.)

  19. Of course it is. It makes it harder to sit on people if you have a maxed out military. We don't want it to be easy to sit on people because then the NPO have won.

  23. What if you (or me) were NPO agents and we just forgot? What if we were taken in by Pacifica, developed friendships, and then infiltrated alliances on behalf of our comrades. Then, as the time went on and we made new friends in new alliances, we just... forgot our original mission. Who are our true brothers and sisters? The people in the alliance we're in? Our comrades in Pacifica? Are we traitors if we help Pacifica? Are we traitors if we don't? My stomachs is in knots. My chest is thumping. I think I'm going to be sick.

  25. Sometimes you forget your old friends. Sometimes you remember them and the good times you had. Sometimes, you just have to pick up that phone and call them. Once long ago TEst and Roz Wei stood together with Arrgh. To have fun. Today TEst and Empyrea stand together, to have fun once again. Important side note, I'm drunk. This pact is of mandatory fun, defence and ofence kind. (Mandatory Defense and Mandatory Aggression) Signed for Empyrea: Peasant Signed for TEst: Terrible Bois Signed for Rum: Captain Morgan (If either of the 2 has a problem with my post, they are free to repost their own, otherwise, cheers!) 28. How exactly does increasing how many people can sit on everyone make it harder to sit on people? You should really read what you write before you send it. If anything this just would make it easier for a smaller players to updeclare and sit on high tiers. If anything, city score should remain at 100 but military score values should be returned to their pre-update values to make a true impact towards what the OP is suggesting.

  29. I had one person approach me and create a Discord ticket wherein we discussed the accusations and ultimately I decided that they weren't enough to warrant his removal from the Discord moderation team. And again, this isn't cutting out the Game Suggestions forum from the process, it's just streamlining important discussion of mechanics. As you may have seen, it's near impossible to have a productive public debate about anything without people completely derailing the discussion with accusations of bias in favor of one side or the other, general complaints, positing completely new ideas that are unrelated to the discussion, etc. It causes development to come to a near standstill due to the amount of negative feedback levied at anything and it's simply impossible to make everyone happy. With a smaller group it's far easier to seriously and thoroughly debate the pros and cons of any suggestion and have nuanced debates instead of "if you do this I'll quit the game" type of posts every other post.

Dr. Rush is the Discord Team Lead and has access to everything to manage the Discord server, and I personally asked for underlordgc to have access because I think he can provide good feedback to ideas.
