The Evenstar Empire is founded upon two unique ideas, one political, and one economic. These are despotism, and tributism, respectively. Despotism: Despotism is the political idea that The Evenstar Empire is founded upon. As Emperor, I have the legal right to rule as I please and whatever I say goes. In practice, though, I'm fairly benevolent: Pay your tribute and come to each other's aid when it comes to raiders and we're fine. Tributism: Tributism is an economic system that I can confidently say is unique to The Evenstar Empire. Basically, members are given a certain resource and a certain number, and they pay that resource to that number. For example, I may ask XX_420momsmasher_XX to give 20 food, or I might ask DerpBurp to give 50 steel. What tribute you give is based upon what continent a member is located on and what improvements a nation might have. I can't expect a nation in Europe is give uranium, nor a nation with no iron mines to give steel. Tributism also takes the place of taxes: The tax rate for both income and resources is zero. In terms of foreign affairs, The Evenstar Empire seeks only to develop positive relations with all alliances. The Evenstar Empire's stance on raiding is that all nations not in alliances are fair game. On the flip side, The Evenstar Empire has a very stance policy on members NOT raiding nations in alliances. The Evenstar Empire also has several protectorates. We do offer the chance for smaller alliances to become protectorates under The Evenstar Empire. Uhh, yeah, that's about it. The ''inactive member'' is not inactive. He comes on only every 2-4 days, it clearly says ''active in the last 7 days'' on his ''last activity'' status. I've offered him the chance to come join my alliance proper to help his security situation. The 1 member alliance use to be an Evenstar Empire member, I offered him protectorate status to help him grow him alliance. It should be noted that he has never been beiged, and is continuously growing in score. The 2 member alliance has been tricky to deal with, but I will be offering him the same thing I'm offering the ''inactive'' member above. The 6 member alliance hasn't had a beiged member in over two weeks and is also growing in score. It seems as if my protectorates are (generally) stable, or are growing to some rate. I'm pleased with it. Also, my protectorates aren't protectorates because I wanted something to do, or because I wanted to be a white knight. It's a contractual deal. They pay me to protect them. Also, my protectorates aren't protectorates because I wanted something to do, or because I wanted to be a white knight. It's a contractual deal. They pay me to protect them. It's worked out nicely I do believe. I found it ironic that you would use benevolent to describe yourself because of the two definitions one of them is being charitable and not looking for profit. However I will assume you are referring to having good intent toward other alliances and your members. Thank for you both the encouragement and the critical evaluation! Most of the receivers of any aid are usually smaller nations where it's largely inexpensive (for me) to assist. Although as I ponder it, I do question it's long-term merit.
