On the topic of Mensa's CB

In a theoretical context, it works, assuming you have infinite funds to play with, but in a practical context where it should work, casinos deliberately curtail it by setting betting limits on tables so even if you don't run out of money, you'll get owned by the betting limit at the table. The point, though, is that Mensa is engaged in martingale betting, by using risky strategies in an attempt to deliver victory when it is either unnecessary or inopportune to do so. Stratagems or brilliancies are most appropriate when you're in a position of weakness, as with what happened last war when VE was about to be destroyed and they managed to talk other alliances onto their side, or when they offer a small amount of gain at a small risk of loss; i.e, your entire war strategy is not pinned on a brilliancy when it's otherwise winnable.

That said, we are still waiting to see what UPN does. If UPN does come through, there's nothing to talk about, if UPN does not come through, obviously the declaration strategy was a mistake.

Speaking of the art of war, if you look at the exchange of attacks (Mensa HQ vs Vanguard, Rose+VE vs Syndicate and Guardian), let's talk Clausewitz. What's the difference between a vulnerable point and a Clausewitzian center of gravity? The Vanguard and Prefontaine business is an excellent example.

It happened like 10 years ago. Too many PC changes since then.

Pity.  Kemal, you need to put your refutation in Inst format, full of poor references, miscontrued conclusions, and lack brevity.  PLEASE OH PLEASE

Ladies and gentlemen, everyone, this is Mensa!

I think I actually deal more damage to your alliance by trolling you and telling you why you're stupid (because consequently you will never address the issue) than by actually playing the game.

That said, Tolkien's works were considered to be faintly racist; Orcs were supposedly influenced by Tolkien's experiences in South Africa among local blacks, Easterlings resemble an Orientalist stereotype. Hence Said.

I think you just proved your actual posts are equivalent to my intentional troll posts, xdxd.

Mensa has a very valid CB, so stop whining about it.

A member of Rose did a OOC attack against a member of MensaHQ. The said member of Rose was a Gov member, and still remains a Gov member. I'm not going to say what exactly happened or anything, as I wouldn't have want anyone to post the OOC if it was me.

I just want to say on a side note, !@#$ CB's, do what you want.

If you won't say it I will. The "ooc attack" was a picture that Pfieffer himself posted on the OWF, the picture was reposted with a caption to the extent of "We are coming for you Mensa."

Also, I still don't understand where you are getting that it was Oblige that did it. You're going off of Pfeiffer's word. I don't see you condeming Pfeiffer's OOC attacks. Is UPN typically known for Hypocrisy and lack of fact checking?

Incorrect. You are literally factually wrong.

Errm no he isn't. I'll give you the same advice I gave Boony, buy a credit and buy VIP. You can see for yourself that the image used in the ad is the same in the VIP section.

Iso pls. Gib me credits.

No one has seen the advert, so how will we know?

The advert has been seen by very few people, outside of those involved in this bullshit.  Maybe you should post it here for the rest of Orbis to gander upon and judge for themselves...

Yeah, that's a good idea and would go over well.

Then I'm afraid the 'he says, she says,' will continue.  with one group saying it was 'this' and another saying it was 'that' picture.  I think the one thing we can all agree on, is that using Real Life pictures of each other is a step too far.  I'm sure that had a well known forum/eRep avatar been used for it, all would have been ok and we could have all had a giggle about it as well as sticking a credit in Sheepy's pockets.

Well it never went in game, so unfortunately Sheepy was unable to profit from this debacle. But, if Pfeiffer were OK with the image being displayed (guessing he isn't, but I wouldn't presume to speak for him) then we could discuss the image, but given everyone's indignation at an IRL image being used, probably wouldn't be a good idea as I said...

Yes, Mensa has maintained that is their CB.

We do?

With the trades of statements between alliances on both sides, I'd think there was more to this war than just Mensa and Rose.

So we get -2 stabhit? People, this is not Europa Universalis. Stop whining about CBs.

Given that this game has no mechanical benefit for actually winning in a war (loot? it doesn't even compensate for the increased upkeep most of the time, treasures are too weak, color bonus is a joke), the only rational reason to go to war against each other is to cut others down to size so that you can be the top dog.

Anything stated as a CB besides that is isomorphic to petty squabbles of high school girls hating each other for stupid reasons.
