Franz Von Dietrich
What's the real difference? They both bicker and show no real ideological difference. But, if I had to choose it'd be the Conservatives instead of Liberals. Third Party candidates are a better choice still.
Thalmor
I identify as a moderate with right leanings, but that's only if you include the whole political spectrum and their ideologies/philosophies. In terms of American politics, I'm a staunch moderate. I don't really like either parties, though. I feel like the figureheads and party leaders of both sides are corrupt and self-serving. That being said, I generally prefer a Republican over a Democrat. Although I'd be content with a Democrat that was honest, had common-sense, and truly stood for the people over a Republican that was none of those things. For example, I'd take Jim Webb over Lindsey Graham any day. I use to a Libertarian (and I still have heavy sympathies to the Libertarians), and so I'd preferably take a Libertarian for any office. If not for the only reason that on a larger scale, I feel like the United States Federal Government is the largest threat to the United States, if that makes any sense. Caecus
TRUMP 2016!!!!!!! Quote It's a useful mental exercise. Through the years, many thinkers have been fascinated by it. But I don't enjoy playing. It was a game that was born during a brutal age when life counted for little. Everyone believed that some people were worth more than others. Kings. Pawns. I don't think that anyone is worth more than anyone else. Chess is just a game. Real people are not pieces. You can't assign more value to some of them and not others. Not to me. Not to anyone. People are not a thing that you can sacrifice. The lesson is, if anyone who looks on to the world as if it was a game of chess, deserves to lose. Rozalia
That is not how you put it to someone outside America. Democrats - Conservative Republicans - Reactionary Would be better and more to the point though there is more to it obviously. Economically they play the same con game and the social differences exist because the Democrats believe minorities are easy marks for them to trick into voting for them. Most people say "well I'd go with the lesser evil", but not myself. While issues like Abortions are obvious distasteful issues from Republicans, only they can fix issues like immigration which the Democrats won't because it's part of their political gameplan. If you're left leaning then voting for Democrats goes against what you want as for as long as the Democrats exist as a significant force, actual Socialism (and other left wing positions) are crippled. Better to let Conservatism win for a time than to be lumbered for decades by some sham masquerading as being on the left. So Republican. Um, the new deal didn't bring us out of the great depression, it did help the unemployed, but the economic policies proved ineffectual and we never got out of the depression until 1941 when the US entered WWII. Guest Frawley
Both US parties are plutocrats with the only major economic difference being which vested interests they will fund on the public purse. Social policy is the only real point of differentiation, and as an Australian member of the 'Conservative' party, I'd still have to go Democrats, because sucking the Jesus Juice doesn't give you the right to decide peoples personal morality.
