  1. I think I can rest my case. The only thing that could've repulsed the community more than the toxicity of the forums during this war would be the sight of our collective pasty bodies flailing to the sounds of stormlight book readings and mongolian throat signing.

  2. You're lucky there isn't video chat on Discord, my moves are so hot they require TKR levels of gas and munition to keep running.

  3. Micros with little to no political sway or relevance have been making threads in Alliance Affairs for a long time. These micros tend to be quite powerless, and disband fairly quickly. It's annoying to see all their threads clog up Alliances Affairs. I don't think micros that are almost completely irrelevant should have their threads alongside the threads of powerful, relevant AAs such as The Syndicate, or Black Knights. Even a simple government change within the top 30 will have more impact on the game within a short period of time than what most micros accomplish their entire existence. Micro alliances should have their own subforum in Alliance Affairs. That way, the announcements of larger, more inpacting alliances can be easier to find and less clogged up with pointless threads. Micros can still make their announcements, of course, and even have the added benefit of not having to compete for attention over the announcements of larger alliances which overshadow them. As for what defines a micro, I think any alliance outside the top 45 is fairly reasonable. Maybe we can have a discussion on that. If Nation Affairs can have 3 subforums for... whatever reason, then I don't see why Alliance Affairs can't have a subforum to keep the irrelevant micro announcements from the announcements of fairly powerful alliances that'll still be around in 3 months. Counter arguments are welcome. Maybe I'm wrong about something. Maybe I'm not seeing a bigger picture. Let's have a discussion.

  4. Hey, Shifty is taking the time and putting in the effort to expose cheaters. So you call his efforts disgusting? Your attitude is what's disgusting. And the excessive defensiveness of your statement reflects very poorly on you and your denials. Now, sure, it's possible that you really do have a biological brother who's visiting you at home or transferred to your school or whatever. I've actually seen that happen in the past, when an ally of mine in another game had his cousin visiting him for a few months. (We knew that he was legit because he and his cousin would regularly voice chat with us, at the same time, from the same network. Pretty darn conclusive, unless he was a god of ventriloquism.) But from an outside perspective there is right now no perceptible difference between your innocent IRL circumstance that you're honestly telling the truth about versus someone making up a desperate set of lies and crocodile tears to cover for their attempt at cheating. So don't hate on Shifty for doing us all a great service, just explain your situation to the admin and provide proof like you just said you know that you're supposed to. And if you're familiar with the rules, as someone that has verified themselves in the past, then you should know perfectly well without doubt that if Shifty has suspicions about someone's network... he is to report it to the admin, not "take it to that person."

  5. I wish there was one version of the treaty web that included micros like these, the web would be so glorious.

  6. To avoid moderation issues and basically just stupid abuse of the Beige system, I'm proposing what I believe is a minor gameplay change that will really only impact people trying to abuse the system. My proposal is simply this: If you have declared an offensive war in the past 24 hours, and someone defeats you in a war, you do not get any Beige time. I am talking a strict, actual 24 hour limit, not based on turns or the midnight update. I think this will eliminate any capacity for abuse like we've seen, without sharply diminishing Beige's role as a comeback mechanism for players that have really been defeated (and aren't trying to engage in additional offensive wars.) Let me know your thoughts, and unless there are some major complaints, I will have this implemented live shortly.

  7. This is Shifty reporting the top story tonight, A story of pirates, a story of businessmen with too much cash and damaged pride, and of a game Admin. Following Wilhelm the Demented's acquisition of the tS bank, Arrgh mateys realized he had too much loot and not enough wars dec'd The legendary DragonK got his bounties purged and got beiged right before he mashed up Wilhelm and got close to victory Sadly, Bluebear made the ultimate sacrifice and lost his shot at loot glory to ensure his son DragonK won. Meanwhile Boyce, the great looter, managed to loot: Empire looted $548,301,582, 110 Coal, 3,374 Oil, 14,436 Uranium, 4,680 Iron, 7,632 Bauxite, 1,683 Lead, 214,690 Gasoline, 202,528 Munitions, 161,413 Steel, 66,806 Aluminum, and 596,488 Food. Verumque Amentia also lost 4.2% of the infrastructure in each of their cities. So doing what any alliance that just got teabagged would do, they complained and got DragonK's beige removed. And thus, Alex once again favors as a side and proves that pirates are not loved. Requote/repost if you agree: RIP Bluebear, Alex made your ultimate sacrifice go down in vain. We shall avenge you brudda.May you rest in Davy Jones' Locker.

  10. Join an established alliance and have them teach you the best way to play, but I believe your best bet is to sell resources on the AH. Oh I see you already joined GotG, so send Seeker a message and yell at him to do his damn job and actually help you learn how to play.

  13. Firstly, not beiging is a wholly different conversation from having friends beige you and creating unfair circumstances. By trying to make the two seem the same at best an obfuscation of the issue. Having friends beige me to ensure that I cannot be attacked is literally abuse of the mechanic as a whole. Its taking the idea of beige to the extreme by having your slots filled with friendlies and is pretty much different from tactical beiging as commonly seen in global wars or alliance wars. No where does Alex call for a nation necessarily winning a war and as long as war expiration is legal, its a valid tactic. Slot filling on the other hand has always been outlawed and if it takes different forms requires the same action in each case. I have never slot filled in a war nor what I've done in four global wars can amount to slot filling because my intention is literally to fight the war as outlined by Alex. The fact you try to connect the two is ridiculous and at best a deflection from the issue at hand.

  14. For anyone who still wants the war stats, I've finally finished the resource loot part, so it should be more or less up to date. Thanks for your help with infra damage/resources used, @Sketchy. Enjoy :)

  15. I'm not surprised but it's an outright insult to all the hard-working Americans(and other people) who spend their money on his game. This is not a turnkey website where you all have to do is set it up and it's a huge attitude issue with the owners of these games where they feel entitled to easy passive income. If you don't want to moderate a game, either hire someone or sell it. The removing beige solution is awful as others have commented. He'll get far more complaints if he seriously is considering implementing it.

  16. Is anyone actually surprised that @Alexis a lazy sack of (expletive deleted)? I mean this is the admin who openly admitted to wanting his user base to suggest fixes that were easy because he wouldn't do the hard ones. You all donate to him, provide him money for him to not do his job. When he does do his job he does it poorly at best or needs to out-source it. Also, who hides a bank in a 20ish city nation with no navy? That's just bad business.

  17. Sheepy should just make team beiging and slot filling legal in the same way that bank hiding currently is. Allow the playerbase to enforce the meta on whether tactics like that are "moral" in the same way people treat other things like planting "viceroys" or making "POW alliances", or honoring naps, or various other things. No moderation needed then, and people will just adjust to the meta like they always do. Otherwise its either moderation or changing the mechanics, and people should know by now that always ends badly.
