Calling it Grillick's War, to me at least, suggest that Grillick was the noble and strategic leader who led his alliance to victory....neither of which is the case. I would call it the War of Attrition. For those who need a definition: at·tri·tion əˈtriSH(ə)n/ noun noun: attrition 1. the action or process of gradually reducing the strength or effectiveness of someone or something through sustained attack or pressure.
