  2. What are the odds that The Legion signs TKR? Seems TKR is in the business of picking up every trash alliance that exists atm.

  3. Right... If I'm FA in an alliance it's always that I can't be trusted because I have a self interest in that alliance. If I intentionally avoid FA because I get shit for it, both because of the bot and generally sucking at it anyway.. then I'm not accountable to anyone. I'm part of the community just as much as anyone else. Maybe motive or reasons don't matter to you, but any rational person has reasons for doing something. I've spent countless hours creating tools for the community, helping people with said tools, helping the game devs fix a multitude of critical vulnerabilities and giving my feedback about changes to the game - because I genuinely care about it. To ruin that kind of investment and enjoyment for someone else is horrible. I haven't built a city in over a year. Locutus and offshoring is what I do. No one is forcing you to use it. It's open source, so you can even host it yourself like Simons does (although perhaps not the most convenient). But, if you want to do actual risk assessment, that would be better than shouting fire. Banks get looted, couped, governments have disagreements and splits etc. People in your alliance and their human error etc. can be just as much a liability It's not exactly a clear thing to me that the kinds of alliances that offshore with me are worse off by having an independent offshore with a track record, and access controls. Also, micros exist. I realize you don't think a lot of them should, but imo that's a rather toxic position to take. I've spent most of my time either solo raiding or in micros, and it's a more appealing playstyle. Alliances should have the tools to better manage themselves so new players dont have a bad experience.

  4. Spend 60k steel, aluminum and gasoline and $500m to make all of your future cities cost 10% more permanently in the future. Can buy as many times as you like, but can't delete it. Main benefit is clout, all your cities you buy after having one of these get a fancy badge to certify you as being rich as balls. Multiple projects equal multiple badges. Combine with a feature that lets you reply to forum posts with an automatically generated comment that compares how many city badges you have vs that user. Will equalise economics in upper tiers and bring fairness to PnW politics at long last. Inshallah.

  5. For a long time, many people in orbis waited for this moment. The current regime of The Galactic Empire will begin to end today. The leader of The Galactic Empire, “Mac” has made it clear multiple times that he is not capable of leading anything. Mac has been couped manytimes already due to his failure in leadership. A leader who blocks people who leaves, a leader who attacks people to force them to join an alliance, and most of all, a leader that does not know what he is doing. Mac has forced nations to submit to his will, accepting 100/100% tax brackets as a “punishment” multiple times Mac has shown that he is close minded about a lot of things. If you try to reason with Mac you will get blocked. Recently, mac has been giving directives to launch attacks at targets found especially to provoke The Elites, Moms Friendly Robot Company, The Grand Federation and Western republic. The Galactic Empire attacked Western Republic’s allies multiple times in an attempt to provoke them. Many raids have been committed against these alliances and enough is enough. This, itself can be seen as a declaration of war by them. We are sorry for everything that will come of this action to the members who have done nothing, but this is Mac’s doing. We suggest that all innocent members of The Galactic Empire leave to be safe from further attacks. Even after all of this, a man can only expect a block from Mac. This is what he has done multiple times, and this is what we are trying to make him stop. He is not unstoppable, he is in a place, he is below and above some people. Coming from his founding member Commo, Mac was not always like this crazy, although he looks nice while you’re with him he will quickly switch to a crazy man if you leave him. Mac holds grudges for very long and has also been trying to poach members from Western Republic and to stop them from joining. There have been many dramas that have included Mac over the course of his reign of terror. Today we show him that he isn't untouchable and his bullying will come to an end. As of this moment The Elites, The Grand Federation, Moms Friendly Robot Company & Western Republic officially declare war on The Galactic Empire. King of The Elites Mom of Moms Friendly Robot Company Mom of Moms Friendly Robot Company Vice President of The Grand Federation Leader of Western Republic

  6. This is a pretty simple request, there are some weeks where I am very busy and I can, on occasion accidentally leave my nation without food or uranium due to this, If there was some notification for this, it would reduce this inefficiency in my running of a virtual country. By run out of a resource, I mean running out through negative income of that resource. Another thing that might work would be if I could have a daily auto-buy from market feature, but I understand if that would be bad in terms of botting or performance.

  8. The Elephant in the Room Several months after their ships had returned from the last war, Daveth paced the loud and dimly lit chambers of the Back Room, pondering restlessly on the state of things. There was much happening around the world, with many rumors swirling around as to what would take place, among them many people whispered - “What would Carthago do next?” In truth, he did not yet know. He walked to the door and stepped outside into the dark streets, finding Krampus there in his trench coat, smoking a cigarette, the Pentarchs around him. They walked together, drinking and catching up as they went, making their way to an abandoned building, with a broken roof. They stood there idly talking when suddenly the moon shone into the room, illuminating the former embassy of The Knights Radiant. In an instant their course was clear - maybe the Orange men weren’t so bad after all? Article I: Mutual Defense & Optional Aggression 1.1. The elephants of Carthago (CTO) and The Knights Radiant (TKR) shall coordinate and defend each other against all harm, military and otherwise. 1.2. Both signatories may also choose to join the other in offensive military action, if called upon. Article II: Non-Chaining 2.1. To Waldo’s great displeasure, the chains that bind us only go so far. In the event that a signatory is either attacked or performs an attack as a result of their obligations towards a third-party, Article I of this treaty is to be considered optional. Article III: Intelligence 3.1. Both signatories agree to share all relevant intelligence should it concern the sovereignty, political interests, and general well-being of the other; such as possible threats to elephants and mercantile trade routes alike. Article IV: Non-Aggression & Sovereignty 4.1. Both signatories acknowledge each other's sovereignty and agree not to interfere in each other’s internal affairs, resolving any dispute internally and in a timely fashion. 4.2. Neither signatory shall engage in nor endorse military, espionage, or political action against the other (except when nuking Morf). Article V: Cancellation 5.1. Both signatories have the right to cancel this treaty at any time, however, they must provide the other party with a 72 hour notice of their decision. After this period of time this treaty and its articles shall be considered void. Article VI: Very Serious Pledges 6.1. Krampus agrees to give Morf YIE. 6.2. TKR agrees that Rome < Carthago. TL;DR: CTO gives Back Room 72h notice and signs an MDoAP with TKR. Signed for Carthago, Signed for The Knights Radiant, King of the Heralds: Wizel Prince of the Heralds: Canbec Ghostblood Babsk: BigMorf Herald of War: Steven Hoffman Herald of Internal Affairs: Modi Herald of Growth: Lancelot Herald of Fabrials: Kyubnyan Ghostblood Apprentice: Roberts

  9. Half of these accusations are false, and no matter what, I will support Mac in his endeavors, he had shown me great kindness and to most of the other members as well. I would gladly sacrifice my nation for his safety. But sadly, my ns is too low ;c - In life, war. In death, peace. In life, shame. In death, atonement.

  17. I for one salute TKR for signing a few small protectorates, unlike other alliances who are bigger than them but form huge blobs with fear of getting knocked down from their pedestal.

  20. If you make the bonus decrease by 10% of the bonus per city after 10, then building new cities effectively makes your revenue not move, and I don't think that's a good thing. Instead, the game should further incentivize raiding. If you really want new nations to catch up, you could tweak the city cost formula instead. I'm no math genius, but here's propositions, if anything. Here's the current formula 50000*(x-1)^3+150000*x+75000 Under this formula, going from c1 to c10 costs $72,225,000, and c10 to c20 costs $1,419,750,000. Here's a proposed revised formula between cities 1 and 19 (included) (10000+x*2000)*(x-1)^3+150000*x+75000 Under this revised formula, going from c1 to c10 would cost $40,521,000, and c10 to c20 would cost $1,204,986,000. After c20, the cost would revert to the current city formula instead. For maximum ease of viewing, refer to this handy-dandy chart. (Red is current formula, green is proposed new formula) Crucially, you may notice that the city cost eventually catches up with the current formula, but getting the earlier cities is cheaper, and helps push nations to the mid-tier quicker. Now, a few things should be taken into consideration with this new formula. Not least of which being, how does this interface with the urban planning projects? Let's look at Urban Planning first ($50,000,000 discount per city, starting at c11). With this new formula, c12 would cost $33,725,000, or $32,038,750 with the Manifest Destiny domestic policy (or $31,195,625 with Government Support Agency). And now, Advanced Urban Planning ($100,000,000 discount per city, starting at c16). With this new formula, c17 would cost $144,225,000, or $137,013,750 with the Manifest Destiny domestic policy (or $133,408,125 with Government Support Agency) . We notice that in both cases, the discount is high enough that cities would hit a negative cost, which is not desirable. What I can propose to counter that is a minimum city unmodified cost of $225,000, or $213,750 with Manifest Destiny (or $208,125 with Government Support Agency), which is the cost of c2. Using Domestic Policy (boosted by Government Support Agency) and both Urban Planning projects the moment they become available, the minimum cost of getting to c20 would become $514,593,400, as opposed to the approximately $609,876,250 (Look, I did a lot of math, let me be lazy and just use the wiki's number and not recalculate for the 7.5% discount provided by GSA this time) that it does now. It would reduce the cost of going from c1 to c20 by 16%. Of course, that's only one proposed formula, it can be tweaked further, or differently if the idea is close to your heart. Anyway, enough math, more coffee. ☕

  21. Why does every discussion about banks, offshoring, or bots always get to a point where people start arguing that micros are the problematic and just mess up the game for the rest of the community? If they just disbanded and joined big spheres, the game would be more interesting, better wars, less scams, more memes, better player retention, and overall a blast. I hear this all the time, but micros drive people to engage more with the game when they first join. People don't want to get lost in a sea of a 100 nation alliance. That sucks, makes people realize that the bulk of this game is Discord channels and memes and if you aren't in on the jokes and discussions, you literally just do exactly what you are told and nothing more cause organization control is key for this game. Micros and tools to help micros help drive player engagement.

  22. In the not so distant future on a glitchy text based game The fat and lonely lazy players who in the server played Said that global wars really suck, and Orbis is really lame Let's just leave the bots playing so no-one knows our shame So then one day in his basement when Borg was super stoned He thought that it would be awesome if the banks all got owned When the alliances saw their banks were gone, they knew just what they would do If you steal all of our banks then we will nuke you till you're blue Its World War FU, Orbis is about to end Only bots will be playing so no one can actually win Its World War FU, I think we can conclude We really had it coming so I guess we all get screwed

  23. Borg literally helps micros have some form of offshore protection and provides one of the only sources of public tech to them as well as 1 on 1 assistance on a near 24/7 basis. Not sure if this is a troll post or not

  24. Maybe instead of dedicating an entire project to this, we can add an option under nuclear weapons to target ships instead of cities. ...my idea behind this, is that the weapon would detonate under water, in the vicinity of the ships, and take out up to 35-40 ships (but no infrastructure). As far as planes attacking ships, that already exists.

  25. So generally; in global wars, doing more resistance damage is worse. For raiding its good sure. But in a global when beige cycling you'd much prefer to be able to do 8, or hell even 9 attacks without beiging them. Now with ships its slightly (very slightly) more nuanced because of one ship beiging and because ship vs infra is kinda shit. (so you usually don't want to do a ship vs infra because as SRD said, it's basically dropping thousand(s) of munis and gas to see big number go up, which usually is not worth it. But the bigger point still remains.
