  1. I won't bore you with the fine details, but after a drawn-out power struggle Rose has decided to transition to a Triumvirate system. I'm very proud to present the First Triumvirate of Rose: Keegoz - Triumvir of Foreign Affairs Kurdanak - Triumvir of Internal Affairs Krillian - Triumvir of Military Affairs For your convenience, the current leadership of Rose will henceforth be referred to as the KKK. o/ Rose o/ the KKK EDIT: A further development - https://politicsandwar.com/forums/index.php?/topic/12046-an-announcement-from-the-kkk/?p=224991

  3. I suggest making an update in politics & war which would make the approval rate play a role in your nation. I got this idea after feeling like the game is a bit unrealistic. My suggestion is to make it so that the approval rate can effect the crime rate, taxes and perhaps even the military. For example, if a nation's approval rate is 0%, most of the population will not pay taxes, crime rate will increase and perhaps troops leave the military and military vehicles get sabotaged. For another example, if a nation's approval rate is 75+%, some of the population will be donating to the nation (like a voluntary increase in tax), crime rate will decrease and maybe the troops' enlistment limit becomes higher than usual. My idea, if done, can be changed a bit as it is just a suggestion and that's all I have to say. Thank you for your attention

  5. The way approval rating is calculated is completely broken in PnW. Almost no seasoned player has a positive approval rating. Even mine is 0%. So if this, and the many many other suggestions for actually using approval rating for something other than roleplay or cosmetics that have been suggested over the years, were to be implemented, then the way approval rating is calculated needs to be changed. But, regardless, I don't really support suggestions to "actually make approval rating useful," because then it would just encourage people avoiding things that lower approval rating (i.e.: pixelhugging) and that has basically no place in this community/game. Also, I notice that you seemingly created your Forum account with the sole intent (at least to start off) of posting this suggestion. Respectfully, I think you should've looked to see if this has been suggested before (which it has, many times) prior to posting. If I recall correctly, that is actually under the rules and/or suggestions post pinned to this subforum. But nobody ever listens to it really, so don't sweat it I suppose.

  6. For me, as a pirate, knowing who can counter me from an alliance is as important as knowing who I can raid and while that green little tick mark shows people who are in my range, I still have to either manually calculate or use third party tools (same effort) to know people in my defensive range. And although only once in a while, I believe it would help landlubbers too and the community in general. So here I suggest making some change to that icon, and instead of describing I'll just go ahead and show you how exactly: : nations I can declare on : nation I can declare on and they also can declare on me : nations that can declare on me but I can't declare on them and on a table it should look like this : If Alex/game dev team actually considers this, they can dm me on discord for original files and PSDs (same res as current icon).

  8. This isn't a major change that would be made, but I feel it's kinda just time for it to happen, as the current system is really outdated. As the title of the forum post says, I want to propose the idea of removing the revenue cap on the different colour bonuses. In the game, we now have five different colours that have reached the cap, those colours being Green, Orange, Brown, Olive, and Yellow. The 75K cap per turn has been in place, as far as I know, since before I started playing back in early 2018, and it's majorly outdated. The mechanics it uses haven't really changed, but the way the game works has changed majorly. Back in 2018, and I'll show my age here, there were no players who had reached 40 cities. The first player to hit 40 cities was Seb, and he did that in May of 2019. Since that time, we now have 3 nations who have 50 or more cities, and 81 additional nations who have 40 or more cities. There are more cities than ever, there are higher infra levels than ever, and the mechanic is still "Average Daily Monetary Net Revenue / Nations" which I think is just outdated. I don't think an uncap of the daily colour revenue would be anything revolutionary, but I simply think five colours being capped, and the mechanic not changing in the past four and a half years plus is just too long, and it should be changed. If someone manages to get it so their colour bonus would give forty million per day if it wasn't capped, let them. They should be rewarded for the work they've put into their colour bonus, and perhaps having it uncapped would give players more to politic about, with people trying to do all they can to get their colour bonus as high as possible, instead of just understanding that the colour bonus basically just gives an extra million per day if they do enough right to cap it.

  9. I’m sure everyone here has traded on the market at least once, and if your experience was anything like mine then you found it annoying. Why annoying? Because: The table on mobile requires horizontal scrolling. When creating an offer, you have to remember what price and quantity you want to set and not get them mixed up. You need to double think if you want to click that sell or buy button. If the offer on the market is greater than you can accept and you want to buy as much as you can afford you either end up calculating how much you can buy/sell or enter small guess amounts until you run out of money. and plenty more. I’m sure most of you have even made a mis-trade, and while most of them only cost you a few thousand dollars, others have lost millions due to a simple mistake that never needed to exist. Now. Why am I telling you all this? Well, because I have a simple solution to all these problems and more that will make you’re trading easier, faster and most importantly safer. The solution is called DocScripts. Open source, available on all major platforms, and 100% free for everyone. Either search DocScripts up with your search engine of choice, should be the top or one of the top results, or click the link here. https://docscripts.stagintin.com/ Now what is DocScripts and how does it solve these problems and more? Well DocScripts, more specifically the View Trades and Create Trade script: Change the market UI so it collapses better when on small screens. Adds Outbid, and Match buttons on the existing offers so you can easily click on the price you want. Being one dollar better or the same price. And when using those buttons fills in the create offer form for you and hides the opposing sell/buy button so you can’t click on the wrong one. Changes the default amount sitting in the boxes of the current offers to accept and lowers it, if necessary, to what you can actually afford. So there is no need to calculate or guess what’s possible. Just click accept. These scripts also offer other features like allowing you to easily switch between markets and protect you from accidentally selling off your warchest. But I think the greatest selling point is that it gives you basic protection against creating mis-trades by simply changing how you approach creating offers through the Outbid and Match button. For those of you that don’t know what a mis-trade is. Simply put, it’s when you create an offer on the market that is of a worse price than the best opposing offer on the market. Because, remember, there are two sides to the market. When you create offers, they can be to sell or buy. And if you create an offer selling resources at worse prices than offers currently buying than you’re creating a mis-trade as you’d make more money by simply accepting their offer. An analogy: If I am buying apples at $10 each then you start selling apples at $7 each, you’d have created a mis-trade as some other third party can come, buy your apples and sell it instantly to me for a $3 profit each. You’d have been better off accepting my offer selling to me at $10 instead of creating an offer selling at $7. https://docscripts.stagintin.com/ DocScripts can protect you from making a million dollar mistake and all while making trading smoother, faster and easier. Give yourself real protection and have it cost you nothing.

  12. That’s a type of leak that pretty much gets you rolled again. The fact GGO and TKR are showing restraint speaks volumes. I do not envy these folks. On the other hand, I kinda figured something like this would be talked about. It was pretty apparent how upset Celestial was.

  13. Trade confirmation Trade confirmation doesn't really help, because it is identical and appears for every trade, so after a while you just automatically accept Only have the trade confirmation when you post for the wrong price (and it's not a private trade) (e.g. selling for less than a current buy offer) Have it the prompt really obvious e.g. Red alert style, "You are posting a trade for less than you can sell on the market. Consider adjusting your price above $XXX or accepting an existing offer <link to trade page>" -> button "Post offer anyway" Allow creating trades via the alliance bank instead of using your nation Alliance bank -> bank trading is already a thing. It's inconvenient to find buyers/sellers for large amounts because there is no centralized market. No one wants to put many billions of resources on a single nation, because it limits who can trade and it's riskier, especially leading up to a war Current trades e.g. food, have a cap of 1m or something (which doesn't need to be there) Change the buy/sell offers per resource restrictions Restrict it so that you cannot place offers (in a resource) more than the amount of resources you have If a seller/buyer no longer has the required funds to back a trade, remove it from the trade page (it's annoying to accept a trade offer only to get an error) Remove the arbitrary 3 trade limit (denison says it would be abused still, so keep the 3 trade per resource limit) Trade notifications When you get a notification for a pending trade, include a link to accept/reject it. (suggested by Vanek) Merge functionality of the buy/sell page into the create offer page e.g. When you go to buy, enter an amount you want to buy, and the ppu you are willing to pay. If there are buy offers available, accept those for the lowest price. Otherwise it creates an offer (or does both) By default, show a table of the top price of each resource on the create offer page Add a dropdown to show the price history Price history graph Dont use a stacked line chart. It's terrible. Basically unreadable without hovering over each price point and reading the prices. At which point you may as well have a table, since that'd be easier to read. Maybe separate it into three line graphs (non stacked): Manu prices. Raw prices (not food), Food.

  17. Howdy comrades! People do be complaining about lack of dynamism and competition etc, they need more in game factors to really drive themselves to the limit. Originally a long time ago treasures were added for this exact reason but we all know what happend to those bastards (cough treasure island, cough nerfed to oblivion..). Now I propose to you, annual competitions. Those would be on an individual level and on an alliance level. These competitions will measurue objective stats. They won't be decided by voting, or by opinion polls. Seeing the prizes would be limited to a few people / alliances, (I'd say the top three of every category but we can be more generous), I believe the prizes should be generous. They should also be generous because people should really want to fight for them. The prizes could take shape as a flat "prize" (for example the winner gets 500K Aluminium), or as a bonus for the complete next year (for example the winner deals 10% more damage with airstrikes.) I wish to note that the prize numbers i listed here are purely hypothetical and had no thought put in them, please don't focus on them. To keep the competition fair and interesting the leaderboards should be publicly displayed at all times, so people / alliances know how much better they have to do than the competition; or if they really want a prize, because said prize is big enough, know who to completly demolish in a war. Individual Competitions Individual compeitions would reward the individual nations that manage to get the best stats in certain categories. Those categories can be decided if we decide this is a good idea, they can also potentially change every year if you want to make it more dynamic, although I don't think this is necessary. Ideas of the top of my head would for example be: most damage dealt, most money raided, most treasures stolen, most looted from alliance banks, most wars won.. Concerns The main concern here might be that certain whales will have a complete dominance in some categories. If we for example look at "Most damage dealt", this is a stat that directly benefits big nations. I have two potential solutions to this issue: we want to make the competition "damage dealt per city", although this would still benifit whales (because there is more infra at those tiers), it would at least make it more fair. The other solution would be to look at what city everyone is at the beginning of the year (or whenever they make their nation) and place them in "categories". These would be much like weight categories in boxing, you are only competing with people around your city count at the beginning of the year. There is also a third possible "solution" and that is to say that it's fine for whales to always win these categories. I personally di not subscribe to that belief, because I want everyone to have a shot at it, but it's possible. Other concerns here are mainly of a technical nature, mainly that the stats need to be tracked properly. Something that is important if you want to make a real competition out of it. Alliance wide Competitions These competitions would be aimed at alliances. Some of the competitions could be "stolen" from the individual categories, for example "most money raided". Some could be made more interesting. Prize wise they should be higher than individual competitions if the reward is a flat prize, but lower if it's a bonus. (Giving an individual 500K aluminium is a whole lot, giving an alliance 500K aluminium is nice, but in the end not worth the effort. Giving an individual a 15% increased income is very nice, but ultimately it's just one person, giving an alliance a 15% increased income is absolutely broken.) Concerns The first concern in alliance wide competitions would be the same as with the individual prizes but bigger. If you just do "Damage dealt" in total there are maybe 5 alliances who stand a chance and they'd know it at the beginning of the year. I believe fun should be for all so we should give more alliances a shot at winning. It isn't that easy however, if you then go to "Damage per member" you basically get the same issue as with individual competitions. Alliances with older (or at least higher tiered) members become the ones who are going to win. (Another risk you take is "one man alliances" who are protected by other alliances.) So what I suggest here would be to make "classes" based on which rank alliances are on the leaderboard. Concern two would be people alliance hopping for a short amount of time (close to the end fo the competition) to collect their prize and go back or other shenanigans like that. My solution here would be quite easy. To recieve your bonus (flat prizes would go direclty to the bank), you have to have been in the alliance that recieves the bonus for at least half the time of the competition. (Unless you are a new nation in which case an exception would exist). The concern with the last solution would be tthe alliance seniority counter working but let's forget about that for now. The end I'm aware this is a very rough outline for an idea, but I believe that if polished up and executed well it would bea very interesting way to make the game more dynamic and potentially more competitive. All ideas here are not final, and just somethign i quickly thought up in the free time i had in the past few weeks. Thank you for comming to my ted talk, let me know if there are any questions or suggestions.

  18. As forum activity for the roleplay continues to drop, it was decided that Discord would be the best place to host the map-based RP moving forward. It was created with people's limited time in mind, and won't have an activity requirement as high as previously. The server will be limited to just the map-based RP for now, but may evolve to include more in the future. If you're interested in participating, you can join with the invite here.

  20. Hello O R B I S, I am the former leader of GOONS (yes, that GOONS). That left the game of their own volition after it became clear that Morningstar wouldn't be able to offer me the protection that I would need to continue playing the game in any capacity. I've since kept a relatively quiet profile, logging in here and there to double check on my nation and occasionally popping into discord. There are some weird misconceptions that I wish to clear up before going any further; 1. Why didn't you delete and reroll? A. I'm not hiding my previous actions as if I'm an innocent, that is wholly unfair. 2. Why weren't you banned? / I thought you were banned? A. I never partook in the harassment of @Alex, giving him a heads up when people found his address (he already knew) and actively attempting to get the collective membership of GOONS to stop reporting the game on Google Play. I was never banned, nor moderated against for anything that occurred during NPOLT. 3. You mercyboarded people!! A. You're right, I did, and so did my alliance. At the beginning this practice was viewed in the lens of humor and eventually after entirely legitimate complaints from both allies of GOONS and the community et al, we changed the way the process worked. Although we still practiced "mercyboarding" we tried to keep the requests funny and light hearted and avoid OOC breaches. Additionally, Alex had previously asked (and received) screenshots of our mercyboard chat room. AFAIK this was fowarded to the proper authorities to ensure that any violations were dealt with as required by the cyberbullying task force. Specifically; I was never involved in the "DOG FOOD GUY" or "CAT FOOD KID" (these happened in another game, well over 8 years prior). Although I did rehost them upon the request of GOONS membership which I admit was a bad look. 4. What do you want? A. Short answer? To play a nation sim and build cities / carebear. I have no intention of bringing back GOONS or Opus Dei. I have no intention of tracking down former OD members and creating a coalition. OD is dead and should stay dead. Any resurrection of those alliances should be met with brute force. Onto the important stuff; As I previously stated I am not going to hide who I was or what I did. I'm not going to make OOC excuses for how I acted (although plenty exist); but I am going to offer an apology and a pledge to be better. I enjoy this game, and always have. I apologize to people who were doxxed by GOONS, NPO, or Opus Dei. Although not by my direction; my direct lack of action helped create the environment that Opus Dei flourished in. I apologize to people who may never read this as they have left the game due to being placed on Kill-On-Sight lists by Opus Dei. I apologize to those I was close in KERCHTOG with for not using the political weight of GOONS and myself to end the war before there was damage to the community. I apologize that the point of the war became one of community damage. I cannot change the past, and I will not try rehash it. I can only post what I remember of my role; and what in my hindsight was going on. Although I may feel that some of those actions were completely justified I am certainly guilty of many times forgetting that we are all people on the other side of the screens and that the things we say, post, and do to each other can sometimes have drastic affects. Which should always be the first determining factor in how we interact with each other moving forward. I, like Anna, would like to use this thread to respond to any questions, feelings, or thoughts you have still have on this. Alternatively if you feel that you need / or would like to speak privately my discord is Astryl#0420. As for now, I'm going to slowly begin to rebuild the infrastructure of my nation and hope that Orbis can forgive my actions and more importantly give me a chance to prove that I am sorry. ((P.S, Although OOC, I would strongly prefer to have people use she/her pronouns when referencing me in the future.)) Love, Astryl.
