We went from a little 3-man alliance with no plans or really ideas as to what we were doing in general to a really fantastic community, from everything from an active irc channel to really great skype calls. People like Erin, Lysandre, Dk3dknight, Kim Il Sung, Frederick, and ViKy made TLF a really great place to be. We merged into Rose, as we were close with their leadership and wanted to learn how a really great alliance runs. We really can’t thank them enough for what they did to help us, and thanks to Rose we are 1000% more ready to remake TLF. So today, 6/26/2015, I officially declare g̶a̶y̶ ̶m̶a̶r̶r̶i̶a̶g̶e̶ ̶l̶e̶g̶a̶l̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶U̶n̶i̶t̶e̶d̶ ̶S̶t̶a̶t̶e̶s̶ that TLF is reopen. I’m excited to start running the alliance again, and to get to know people better who I didn’t get to talk to much in the first TLF, like Chrisom, Baker, Selvaria, Kai, and 8583 . Shouts out to the Syndicate for protection. Also, special shoutout to Erin for being there since before the beginning, and actually making this all possible.The Light Federation Charter Article I, Honor The Light Federation (TLF) is an alliance founded upon the principles of individual freedom, safety, and prosperity. To maintain those principles we ask every member to show respect for all nations in The Light Federation. These principles may also be extended to friendly and/or allied alliances. The Light Federation is a peaceful alliance but will defend its sovereignty until it can fight no more.Article II, Raiding Members of The Light Federation are not allowed to raid any nation who has been active in the last 7 days Members of The Light Federation are not allowed to raid any member of an alliance with 5 members and over. Nor can they raid members of an alliance with open diplomacy with The Light Federation; doing otherwise the raider will be expelled from The Light Federation. In the event that the raid proves disastrous, all nations are responsible for their own actions and no members are obligated to help in any form.Article III, Government The Light Federation Government consists of 3 Presidents, 4 Secretaries, and 4 Governors (unless in a state of war).Presidents The Presidents have one main responsibility of The Light Federation, this is to make sure that every decision they make is for the greater good of The Light Federation and its Members. They each control either Internal Affairs, Foreign Affairs, or Military Affairs. Together they: (A) Write Treaties ( Make Decisions © Make Announcements (D) Are equalPresident of Internal Affairs The President of IA oversees everything that goes on inside The Light Federation. He/she makes tax decisions, bank decisions, recruitment decisions, etc. The President of IA also helps manage the bank and loans going in and out.President of Foreign Affairs The President of FA oversees anything that may or may not involve The Light Federation outside of the membership. He/she creates embassies in other alliances, proposes certain treaties (with the acception of the other Lords), as well as deals with diplomatic issues.President of Military Affairs The President of Military Affairs oversees the Military and Readiness of The Light Federation. During war, he/she creates strategies, makes hit teams, etc. He/she makes sure that the Bank Stockpile is always ready for conflicts, he/she will send out military help for Members that are getting hit by raiders, they will also try to resolve the situation if a member is getting raided.Secretaries The Secretaries each run their own department of the alliance while the President of that department oversees them. Each Secretary is chosen by each President. Usually the Secretaries do stuff like: (A) Propose Ideas to the Presidents. ( Report Anything to the Presidents from that Department. © Be a Helper When the Presidents Need. (D) Help Oversee What Each Governor is Doing. (E) Watch Over Their Department.Secretary of Internal Affairs The Secretary of IA reports to the President of IA. He/she tells them all that is going on with the inner alliance or anything that he/she observes. This Secretary helps with recruitment messages as well as choosing who recruits. The Secretary of IA also oversees the Governor of IA. This Secretary is to make sure that the IA Governor is doing their job and that the IA side of the alliance is running smoothly.Secretary of Economics The Secretary of Economics reports to the President of IA. He/she tells them all that is going on with the banking side of the alliance. This Secretary manages the bank and accepts loans. They cannot abuse the bank and give themselves more money than the max allowed to be sent. If The Secretary of Economics does this, they will be removed immediately. In case of any emergency in abuse of the bank, when this person is removed, a new Secretary will replace them within 72 hours. For those 72 hours, The President of IA is in charge of what the Secretary of Economics is usually in charge of. The Secretary of Economics also oversees the Governor of Economics. This Secretary is to make sure that the Economics Governor is doing their job and that the Economics side of the alliance is running smoothly.Secretary of Foreign Affairs The Secretary of FA reports to the President of FA. He/she is often on IRC and tries to keep relations with every alliance up. This person can also apply on different alliance forums. The Secretary of FA also oversees the Governor of FA. The Secretary is to make sure that this Governor is going to different alliance forums and applying to be a diplomat. The Secretary will often visit these forums with the Governor but be less active on those forums.Secretary of Military Affairs The Secretary of Military Affairs reports to the President of Military Affairs. He/she occasionally checks if every Member is meeting their military requirements/stockpile requirements via mass-message every week. When this person chooses not to do it one week than the Governor of Military Affairs is in charge of it. If you’re still reading, the first person to message MrBooty in-game gets $300,000. The Secretary then reports these stats to the President of Military Affairs. The President of Military Affairs is also sometimes left up to deal with any raiders if necessary. The Secretary of Military Affairs also oversees the Governor of Military Affairs and the Governor of War (During a State of War). The Secretary's job is to make sure that an appropriate amount of resources are being sent out to every member who is in need of it. The Secretary is also to make sure that the bank stops sending resources if it gets too low on that resource.Governors Each Governor has a certain department of the alliance that it works in and helps out in. Governors are chosen by the President of the department that they are working in to help out the Secretary of that department.. The Governors report what is going on with this department and what they are doing to help out the Secretaries. Different Governors manage different things like: (A) Helping to Set Stockpile Minimum Requirements ( Helping to Set Military Minimum Requirements © Writing down a List of Which Alliance Forums Have Not Been Visited (D) Helping to Send Out LoansGovernor of Internal Affairs The Governor of IA is in charge of recruiting people as well as setting up a recruitment message for alliance members to use. The Governor of IA is in charge of getting some members to help recruit with this person. This person (and the other recruiters) write down how many people they messaged that day, and then give the links of the oldest/newest nations messaged. They write this down on The Light Federation Forums. In case of any emergency, they report to The Secretary of IA.Governor of Economics The Governor of Economics is in charge of helping track down loans coming in and loans coming out. This Governor does not have access to the bank; however they can help the Secretary of Economics use it WHEN given permission by the President of IA and the Secretary of Economics.Governor of Diplomacy (Foreign Affairs) The Governor of FA is in charge of setting up embassies on different alliance forums. The Governor of FA is here to be the gateway to every other alliance. He/She will need to be on IRC as much as possible on many different channels as well as on many alliance forums. To be the Governor of FA, you must be IRC active. The Governor of FA reports to the Secretary of FA who will occasionally visit those alliance forums that the Governor visits.Governor of Military Affairs The Governor of Military Affairs is sometimes in charge of doing the once a week stockpile/military check-ins. This is where the Governor mass-messages everybody to see how much of every resource they have to know how much of the resource to give to that nation from the bank. The Governor also helps with setting the minimum military guidelines. The Governor of Military Affairs reports to the Secretary of Military Affairs/President of Military Affairs who talks to the other two Presidents about the minimum military guidelines. If everybody agrees, then those guidelines are put into place.Governor of War The Governor of War position is vacant unless in/preparing for a war. The Governor of War is the person who helps send out stockpiles to each nation before a war to help them get ready. The Governor of War reports to the President of Defense. If you read this, contact Alataq for 400k.Article IV: Amendment Modifying/Adding The TLF Charter can be Changed/Amended with a majority vote of the Presidents and Secretaries. An amendment vote can be requested by any President, Secretary, or by a Member. Through the years, many thinkers have been fascinated by it. But I don't enjoy playing. It was a game that was born during a brutal age when life counted for little. Everyone believed that some people were worth more than others. Kings. Pawns. I don't think that anyone is worth more than anyone else. Chess is just a game. Real people are not pieces. You can't assign more value to some of them and not others. Not to me. Not to anyone. People are not a thing that you can sacrifice. I never thought we'd be accused of being too organized As for the top heavy thing, we right now have 12 members, and every single one of them is qualified enough to be in gov, and our organization shows that. Nonetheless, valid criticism. We do have personal friendships though, and so hopefully that will help us get through tussles at the top.
