  8. New Flag of Narvan Democracy Restored in Narvan! For many years since the end of the First Republic the Emperor, Prezyan, has been ruling with an iron fist. However on February 1st, 2019, he gave a speech that would alter the course of the Empire forever. "This glorious Empire has existed for many generations under the principles of personal freedom. The freedom to enjoy life in all regards. Freedom from oppression and from intrusion in your lives. I've lead my people, this grand Empire for as long as I feel that I should. Now it is time, time for our people to finally guide themselves towards a brighter future. I shall continue and never cease to uphold, ensure, and protect the ideals of the Empire and of Narvan. With adopting what we Narvanese have called in prior past, Parens Regula, I shall retire to a paternal orientation. To Rule, but not to Govern. Let our motto not only be Mare Caeruleum, et Jugeris Aurum but also Et Democratia Libertas! Democracy and Freedom!" Following his speech, the Emperor ushered in sweeping reforms, completely transforming the administrative body away from the Emperor towards the newly established branches of government. The Four Branches of Government are as follows; The Federal Council The legislative body of the new Narvanese government. Made up of one elected representative of each province. The Emperor may dismiss the Council, at which point a new round of elections would occur. Serves for two years. The Imperial Chancellery The executive body of the new Narvanese government and Head of Government. Ability to veto or accept laws. May be overridden by the Emperor. The Imperial Chancellor is elected by the People, goes through a secondary vote by the Federal Council, and then is confirmed by the Emperor. Serves for three years. The Supreme Justiciary The judicial body of the new Narvanese government. Ensures all laws passed are acceptable under the present laws of the Empire. Final authority on all judicial matters. Members of the Justiciary are appointed by the Federal Council and approved by the Imperial Chancellor. The Emperor may temporarily dismiss a Justiciar. if he deems them unfit for the duty, in which case the Federal Council must either reinstate him or appoint a new Justiciar. Made up of seven Justiciars. Serves for ten years. The National Austerity Council The economic body of the new Narvanese government. Made up of twelve elected officials (cannot be part of the Federal Council) and an Imperial Auditor appointed by the Federal Council, approved by the Emperor. The Council will administrate all economic affairs of the Empire and is held accountable for maintaining a moderately balanced budget. The Emperor may dismiss the Council, at which point a new round of elections would occur and a new Imperial Auditor would have to be appointed and approved. Serves for three years. The Emperor hopes to ensure that the Empire is able to strive on these new democratic principles, in which he himself has declared that he shall ensure its success. Elections had taken place on the Emperor's Birthday, February 16th, 2019. Theodosius Rooseveltian was elected as the first Imperial Chancellor by a vote of 73.5%. Calvinious Coolidian was elected as the first Imperial Auditor by a vote of 69.7%. Both were accepted by the just-elected Federal Council, and were sworn in by Emperor Prezyan in the days following the elections. Theodosius Rooseveltian, first Imperial Chancellor 2019- Calvinious Coolidian, first Imperial Auditor 2019- The new Anthem of Narvan

  11. Imperial Ecclesiastics meet to proclaim Henrym the Assistentem Imperatoris By the Decree of His Imperial Majesty, the Emperor Prezyan, Fourth of his name, Chosen by Heaven, Divinely guided, and Forever wise; the Imperial Crown Prince Henrym, has been proclaimed Assistentem Imperatoris. The title Heir of the People, and Assistentem Imperatoris have been immediately bestowed upon his Imperial Grace. His Imperial Grace, Crown Prince Henrym, shall henceforth be referred to as Imperatoris Henrym. The title Duke of the Narvant has been removed from his standing. Since time immemorial, when the Emperor of Narvan believes that his heir has reached a certain age, the heir is bestowed with a title which would be translated to "Assistant Emperor" or "Co-Emperor". The position, though technically below the station of His Imperial Majesty, is given every single duty and responsibility of the Emperor. This was done to allow the Crown Prince to be able to attain on-the-job experience before his coronation. This system also allows the Emperor himself to personally mold his heir in statecraft, as well as have the final word on potentially dangerous policy enacted by his heir. Imperatoris Henrym was made Duke of the Narvant in 1994, which began his training in the administrative sector. Prior to his ascension to dukedom, he served in the Imperial Navy, as his father before him. He attained the rank of Lieutenant-Commodore before his honorable discharge from the Navy in 1993. His appointment to the position may mean any number of things. Emperor Prezyan may simply be giving his heir ample time to prepare for his future position, or may even be preparing to abdicate in favor of his son.
