So the left right is based on Communism Vs Capitalism?

Then majority of Americans are capitalist.

I forgot to say:

In the diagram of Europe, they put Facism and communism at two sides, while they are sided in the middle of the two.

If based on these two diagram, you can say I am also a centrist,

In the game of Hearts of Iron 3,

they put Democracy, Facist, Communist in the edge of the triangle, probably as Pro-America, Pro-Russia and Pro-Germany.

The left-right paradigm is obsolete and a relic of bourgeois revolution.

Sticking with a single ideology in all situations and all nations around the world, is nonsense. You'll pretty much just end up like this:

round-peg-square-hole.jpg

Different situations and different nations require different solutions. Governments should ignore ideology and pursue the solutions most apt to solve their problems, regardless of political viewpoint or what manner of dogmatic doctrine these solutions are a part of. Pragmatism is more important than ideology.

I truly don't understand why socialism or communism is liked or even popular. I don't think anyone would want to live under a government that does not value private property or capital.

Everything Harminator said and more. Socialism does indeed respect private property. Socialism is just when a government offers things to it's citizens for free. I agree that a completely Socialistic nation would not be good, but I think that there are some things that the government should give it's citizens.

Communism/Socialism advocates the ownership of the means of production by government according to Marxist thought, and before someone wanders in and says "Not government but by the public" or something else along similar lines first understand that ownership means having sole say in what is being owned thus collective ownership of anything is a myth first because collectives are not beings they are concepts of reference to a multitude of beings and second because as soon as 1 person chooses not to go along with everyone else they prove that they in fact do not own the thing in question, thus the government AKA the guys with the biggest guns in the room own everything.

The means of production is thought to be the factories the mills the places where stuff is produced however if you take people out of these places nothing gets produced thus these places are not the means of production but people are the means of production so with that statement ownership of the means of production takes on a whole new light namely it means slavery, to own the means of production the people must be owned and if the government AKA the guys with the biggest guns in the room own the means of production then you have a slave state.

Socialism can't respect private property because the first property any person owns is themselves and as stated above to own the means of production is to own people.

Government can not give anything it has not first stolen to allow one group in society to steal with no downside to thous doing the stealing will result in time to the complete collapse of society as the idea of taking what you have not worked for becomes The right thing and that spreads in society as the trendy thing to do as each person encounters the people who can steal with no penalty they will want to do the same.

Because morally it is the right system.

Realistically on the other hand, it can't work in large populations. Greed and corruption are always going to be around.

It is also extremely popular with poor people who blame the richer classes and business owners (sometimes rightly) for their troubles and hard times. Taking things from rich people and spreading them around is very appealing for many people.

So, Socialists openly treat other humans differently based on the amount of money they have?

The most common kind of socialist is the bourgeois socialist Marx warned of. They do not truly support class revolution but instead most commonly take the form of "democratic-socialists" who attempt reformism of the existing capitalist system.

None of this makes sense. The poll assumes that just because someone is left, they are a socialist.

I myself am not sure which of these I fit into as I'm a libertarian socialist.

Also, fascism is not radical right. It's radical centrist if anything.

Also, the amount of misinformed posts about Socialism here is mind boggling.

Socialism is a pretty broad term that has nothing to do with government. It's an economic philosophy that has no set definition among socialists themselves.
