Guest
Do you think we'll eventually see massive terms or reps placed on losing alliances/coalitions here? What are your opinions on these?
Clarke
I don't think so, most people come from different games where they know better than to use reps as it also hurts the game.
rapmanej
Reps hurt both parties. It's not an effective way of growing your alliance, although it can be used to hold other alliances down. A better way to go would be to sign a resource deal for a time period 3-6 months, where they would have to sell you resources at a fixed rate below market prices. Jodo
Terminus Est has a general policy of not asking for reps and instead prefers granting white peace. I think a couple other alliances have similar policies. Edited January 17, 2015 by Jodo
Magicboyd25
I guess it depends on what started the war imo. Overral reps in an alliance scale can be harmful so I agree in large scale reps are kinda a bad idea.
Filthy Fifths
when will viceroys make a return? Quote "In an honest service there is thin commons, low wages, and hard labor; in this, plenty and satiety, pleasure and ease, liberty and power; and who would not balance creditor on this side, when all the hazard that is run for it, at worst, is only a sour look or two at choking. Ashland
Oh, if the defenders win they should definitely ask for reparations. Well within their rights. 1 Quote ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [10:47] you used to be the voice of irc
Shellhound
Oh, if the defenders win they should definitely ask for reparations. Well within their rights. I agree with this, I don't think they should go overboard (but if they do, who the !@#$'s going to stop them?) but that's just my personal opinion. But then you get into the tricky situation of who is really a defender and suddenly everyone becomes a lawyer. If you feel like you've been wronged and want reps do it, just don't be a little !@#$ about it.

Aphelion
It's quite sad how Orbis may possibly skip the age of viceroys and ridiculous terms altogether just because a community from another game has "outgrown" it or has found it already unacceptable.Without doubt, we're going to miss a lot of fun and controversy. ooohu
Eventually someone will get greedy after winning their war... when that day happens reps will be forced down someones throat and that'll be that. Or it could just be as simple as trying to hold down a rival for a little while longer after being victorious. I don't suspect that will be anytime soon, but if PW grows to a decently active size and enough time passes it'll be just another fact of life again. Sweeeeet Ronny D
reps would be much easier to transfer over in orbis, you could realistically do it in a day or so depending on the size of the demand.

Saru
I think certain people forget that in the last war we came fairly close to really harsh terms. But from what I understand not everyone was on the same page, and it couldn't get pushed through. So it's definitely not something you can discount, and remains a plausible possibility. Azaghul
reps would be much easier to transfer over in orbis, you could realistically do it in a day or so depending on the size of the demand. Yup and there are no slot limitations. And trades could easily be used to bypass slot limitations. There'd be almost no economic cost to take reparations. Other than that it also depends on political will and economics. Nations are small enough here that reps could make a big difference in growth, and nations don't take that long to build to a "relevant" size. That makes reps more viable. But political will also matters, and not loosing the PR battle. The attitudes taken from other worlds affects the political game a lot.
