I guess it could hurt a minor (by getting a "boys" hopes up that all females are nympho's, and I guess it could hurt a "girl" making her think all men are hung like mules) but seriously as an adult you try to make sure your kids don't get a hold of pornographic materials but if a "teen" tries hard enough they will see it...plus...think of the economic benefits from it...I mean its a multi billion dollar industry. Porn was produced and distributed almost as soon as a medium became availible to do so. This includes magazines with mass publication and distribution beginning in the 1870s. The French ruled this initial push. Would you like to pay me in real monies or in game monies? I can attest to this. Pornography is one of the oldest entertainment in the world. Way earlier than country music. Even the Ancient Egyptians and Greeks had porn. Ancient Greeks had a lot of porn and erotica. We only know of one Ancient Egyptian porn so far, since their porn are written on papyrus and those don't last long. Let's not talk about the Romans. If porn viewership and masturbation are so necessary to good health, then how did men of the past not suffer from all these "infections" and such that you mention? I am certainly not denying these studies have found benefit in such practices, but I am very skeptical of your claim that it is unhealthy not to do so. Or at least not nearly to the extent that you would have it seem. I also just turned 18 and have never done that before, and I don't suffer from any strange infections or symptoms, nor am I sexually "aggressive" in any way. I don't think those things are necessary in any sense of the word. As for the second part, I am speaking quite honestly when I say I have not. I'm open-minded when it comes to what other people do - generally I don't care - but I am very strict about what I allow myself to do, and that is one of my personal taboos. Similarly, the only time I have verbally uttered any swear word was when I saw the f-word scratched on a bathroom stall in third grade, and asked what it meant when I got home. Simply because things like pornography - or swearing, masturbating, trying pot, whatever - are commonplace does not mean they are universal habits. Edit: In case that seemed rather pointless, what I'm trying to indicate is that things like pornography aren't simply natural and necessary for reproductive health. While they are common, there are plenty of people who do not view/practice those things and are not in any unhealthy condition, not to mention that the majority of people in the world don't have access to pornography and similarly lack any reason to masturbate. Pornography is much more well known for producing sex and porn addictions and for causing significant friction in established relationships and families than it is for producing any effects that are more beneficial than not watching it. Once again, I don't think it is anything within the rightful jurisdiction of the government - but to say that it is beneficial is highly misleading, because in fact it can become a very addictive and problematic habit. Ok, this entire argument seems kind of dumb, but I have to comment here. Pornography and masturbation are two different things. You don't need to watch porn, or even be sexually active, to masturbate. Masturbation is simply the physical stimulation of your genital parts, which doesn't even require hands. In further argument, it is common place for most primates to masturbate, and even children/babies to an extent. Masturbation isn't a taboo act, it is completely natural. Repressing yourself from that seems stupid, but it is your choice, I honestly don't care. But saying that masturbation is similar to going out and smoking pot is ridiculous. In regard to the actual argument, I would like to mention that pornography does not objectify women. How do I know this? Because of porn that does not include women. The fact that you are talking about women objectification and religion in the same argument is actually hilarious. In the same arguments that have been brought up about porn, why do you think women were objectified far worse before the innovation of porn?
