on May 21, 2015 a recorded video showing a bride, the groom, and the brides child at a wedding

"Hey Kathy, ceremony was beautiful. Your new husband seems to have the fathers instinct"

The camera is turned to videotape the step father and daughter dancing. Camera refocuses on Kathy.

"Yeah, when I met him I knew he was my soulmate," Kathy exclaimed

All of a sudden a group of men run in and start screaming a foreign language

"What the..." She was cut off when the foreign soldiers slashed open her gut. The last thing she saw was her child and newly-wed husband dragged off.

The camera recorded the foreigners taking men and children, while the women got executed.

This tragic story has been brung to you by the Quarian News Agency. As you can tell, this war is barbaric and it can only get worse while the war is still in full fledge.

Campbell Nation Ministry of Information - Department of Wartime Propaganda

Letter From Doeringgrad Resettlement Camp

Published with permission from Author

Since arriving in the Campbell Nation, I have been treated to a modest but comfortable lifestyle. Life in a refugee camp is by no means glamorous, but it is far better than what awaited me in in my former homeland. Although I am not currently permitted to leave the compound because of my former citizenship and factory work for the axis war effort, I have found a reasonable degree of comfort in the life provided to me by the state. As it were, the factory work provided within the compound is just the thing I have needed to keep my mind away from the war. This is ironic, because the factory which was built in the center of the camp is focused around building computer chips for the federation missile program. It is not particularly complicated, although it does require proper dexterity.

It is rather curious having fled from a monarchy to a socialist nation. It was not my first choice. After the missile which struck my home "convinced" me to leave my homeland, I crossed several borders before winding up here. The first several countries would not accept me. I was politely informed by their security services that my citizenship disqualified me from applying for asylum, and to kindly get lost.

The fourth country I was handed over to held onto me for only a handful of days, until a nuclear weapon exploded over their capital. Once again I was politely told to get lost so that the country's own citizens could have a place to sleep. I managed to get to the Campbell Nation by hitch hiking on a military convoy. They brought me to these newly constructed facilities meant mainly for Rose citizens, but told me I could stay as long as I applied my experience for the war effort.

Since arriving, those of us able to work have been put to use in factories and repair shops. Since there are no televisions, and personal electronics are prohibited, there is little to do but work. We listen to the socialist realist songs and the military music as we work. The factory managers are required to turn down the volume before the world news comes on, but every time he nods and tells us that we are still safe. The camp is sparsely decorated, and there are few clocks, so those of us without watches tell the time by watching for the hourly sky patrols from the People's Defence Forces. During my first days here, the non-Rose refugees were ordered inside during every flyover, but the authorities have slowly given up on this.

The food is tolerable. The main complaint is always that there is not enough. These are made mostly in jest, however. We are on rations similar to those throughout the Federation, and I suspect the entire world. At the suggestion of one of our younger comrades, and with the permission of the authorities, we have planted a small garden of our own, and as the seasons change we intend to put up a makeshift greenhouse.

There has been some resentment between various nationalities, but the authorities have done a good job of avoiding conflict. If nothing else, they have kept us too busy to fight amongst ourselves. All of us want this war to be over, but each of us understands the need to end the war properly, so that the end of this war is not the cause of the next. I do not regret leaving my homeland, because I think that for better or worse, they are on the losing side. People have talked about the future historical importance of this conflict we are in the middle of. I hope they are right. I sincerely hope that this war is unique in being the last one.

With socialist greetings,

[Redacted]

"The Home War is Over" - Liber becomes fully neutral, restoring the pre-war state of the Empire.

"We didn't even see some real fighting, but at home, it's happy to see soldiers finally come back home. It was a tough time for Liber, fear of war is everywhere and uncertainty is all over the place. Finally, the last few weeks saw change. Industries were being restored, the temporary military barracks were already being decommissioned, and the fields are empty of tanks once more. Businesses became open once more too. It was wonderful, as we just went to the mall this morning."

- Maria Antonia

"This morning, when we heard from the radio that Liber had withdrawn its war status, and has become neutral at last, we quickly turned on the telly if it were real. Even there, newscasters are reporting about the wonderful day of the end of our fears. Crowds gathered outside, celebrating in the streets, mothers kissing their sons and daughters, and people sharing a wonderful time of peace with each other. It was a jolly good day to remember."

- Alickson Amore

News about Liber Peace Day:

Wartime Liber OVER! Emperor announce neutrality from Phintopia.

Crowds gather at Libesburg in celebration of the declaration of the empire's full Neutrality. Liber has just exited the Uranicus Socialitas sphere and has transferred to the Sigma alliance, ending its responsibility to support the war against the Seven Kingdoms. The Emperor, who is at Phintopia for the 1st FOFA World Cup, has announced on a special conference that Liber will now be returning to its Pre-War conditions. Town centers at Dieudonnesburg, Libersburg, Jane-Amor and Pietry fill up with celebrating men and women, children and adults. Most soldiers are now sent to their homes, and industries are now re-opened as they were before they were deconstructed to make way for military facilities. The Military Government and the Martial Law was now also repelled, and the pre-war conditions have been fully restored.

From the eyes of a refugee living in Canada:

Dear Family,

The siege on the capital went horribly. We had thousands of casualties. After the attempted siege on the capital, the army broke up. The remaining few of us that were still alive simply ran for our lives. Our country had deserted us, the air transports gone already. I watched as my remaining comrades simply died or were shot. By some miracle, I managed to leave the capital city. I crawled through the forest. I had the good fortune to meet some animals, which I gladly ate. The water was contaminated with blood, but hey, who am I to complain? Majority of the countries I passed turned me down. At one, they even threatened to shoot me. I can't really blame them - rubble lay everywhere and smoke from a missile lingered in the air.

I headed for the Canadian border, after I heard from another hitchhiker that Canada was accepting refugees. He had left his home country, decimated by the missiles. His family was all dead.  We walked along, however he died from malaria as we were crossing the desert. I passed through several cities, that had been destroyed. People were stealing things off of dead people, the remaining survivors were being mugged, houses looted... it was horrible. I must admit that I joined in too, I went to what was left of the farmer's market, picked up someone's leather book bag off the dusty ground and took all the food and water I could.

I arrived at the Canadian border 7 days after the battle. The border patrols gave me a red passport with the Canadian flag on it, with the words "REFUGEE" on them. I was driven in a tour bus past the rolling hills, mountains, towns and rivers. The sun was shining. I was taken to Niagara Falls, into the National Centre. It was a beautiful community centre. I was assigned a corner of Dressing Room 11 to sleep in, however, I get 3 meals a day from the Red Cross and water, and shelter, and heating. I am thankful. It really makes me feel that something is unfair however. All these neutrals are living in peace and happiness...while others are dying. Have we done something wrong?

"I came from a small farming and mining town just outside of North Point. I just graduated high school and left my ROTC program and spent probably only two weeks in basic before they came across the wire...war was about to start and all men were needed. My entire battalion was high school kids...the most experienced one of us had been in basic about a month.

We received our orders, we were to ship out to Ponies with Attitudes and assist the Citagrad Battalion and Farbanti Battalion in the first wave of strikes. We were poised on the boarder...when we heard a deafening roar we looked to the skies to see the Erusean Air Force and the silhouettes if hundreds of planes flying by. Soon as they were outside our vision we could hear the explosions in the sky as air craft fell from the skies.

Our commanders sat by the field radio and within an hour we had word...we had air superiority and it was time to cross the thin red line as we called. Soon as we crossed the line...we ran right into the enemy formation, the Armored transport I was took a direct hit from an enemy shell. I was able to get myself free from the wreckage and make my way to the front line...if that's what you call a line of burning armored carriers then we had the best darn line at that point.

All I could do is fire my rifle at the pop shots I saw coming from behind barricades made outside one of their city limits. My bunk mate died within the first ten minutes, my friend since grade school was shot just outside the first barricade, my ex girl friend was killed when a tank shell landed 5 feet away from her, I was hit twice...but I continued to fight after the medic got done with me.

At the end of the first offensive we had lost over 16,000 men and women. I was lucky...if you call seeing the horrors I saw lucky..."

A note found in a temporary housing tent for families that lost their homes during the war

"This war... This bloody damn war caused the death of my parents, three of my siblings. Im thirteen years old and i am already out of parents. The Quarian Government issued notice that everyone will get taken care of but help doesnt seem to show itself. The only help I get is extra formula for my four month old brother. If the soldier who gives it to me got caught would be imprisoned for disobeying ration orders. People left and right seem to be going on their way. To a new home, but what about my brother? I don't care if i die but someone has to take care of my brother, i cant take care of him, how am i suppose to get a job? Who will watch him while im work? Oh mother please give me advice from the heavens. I don't know what to do anymore..."

Note was found three days after the Government relocated her and her brother to a new home.

I was just getting into my White Tiger Tank when we found out. I was in the midst of checking on the ammo when I heard some sort of commission out in the vehicle bay. I looked up to my gunner who was standing on top of the cupola who at first look confused, then shocked then all of a sudden excited. She looked down at me and said simply. "Its over... if ****ing OVER!!!" For a moment it confused me then she grinned and said. "The war your idiot! Its over we won!!" My eyes went shock and I scrambled out of the tank and looked around. Every engineer, tanker, soldier, absolutely everyone was going nuts and hollering. I looked at my gunner and in a moment of absolute euphoria took her in my arms and just kissed her. The moment last for a moment before we broke apart. I thought she was going to break my jaw. She just laughed and said. "Since we won, I'll let you buy me dinner"

Lantean Telegraph headlines "Sergeant Wilkson, the Reality of War" the war that's been going for months. This was a letter that Susan Wilkson got yesterday from her husband. President Sheppard has read the letter and was moved by the words and made the following statement:

"It brings me much sadness to hear of such horrors, war is not a nice part of society. I praise the efforts of our defense force but we must continue to fight for the safety of our allies and for our national interests. These nations were plotting to attack us, I hope peace will come soon and I believe it will but we must not stray away from our reason for these wars. My condolences goes out to the 10's if thousands of Lantean defense personnel families and friends that have lost their lives in this terrible struggle for our nation's security. The Lantean government condolences goes to our many ally's families and friends that have also been affected by this global war. We will always fight when our ally's need us knowing they will do the same for us"

President Sheppard has seen an increased popularity despite being involved in war that has much controversies.

The following is Susan's letter from Peter

"To my darling Susan

2 weeks ago I was leading my men in attacking Iron Isles. We helped our ally's in achieving great victory, we didn't do too much fighting, our air force did a bulk of our work. I could hear bombs going off.....screams....it happened for hours. When the bombing stopped, it was silent, I remember before we left, the nuke hit....you could see the bright light.....then....destruction. It wasn't the feeling if victory that I had thought.

I'm now leading my men into battle against Lyevland, we've been here less than a week and we've killed over 35,000 soldiers. War is not what I thought....so many dead....the civilians...the kids. I can't wait to come home and get away from this horror, I miss you my love. I don't when I'll be able to write again, we are getting looked after well though, the food is great, not better than your homemade shepherds pie. See you soon my love.

CANADIAN WAR NEWS!

"Citizens, people of Canada. We are literally a nation forged in war. We were created during the Marionette Wars. Thanks to our alliance, and a strict policy of neutrality, we grew. 5 months ago, the Great VE War, as it is being called, began. Canada opened up our arms to the war-torn refugees. Many of you standing here, or watching on television, are refugees. Time went by. Accidents, gruesome tales, rationing - all of it hit Canada. Charming Friends bombed our cities, and killed 2000 civilians and destroyed 50 infrastructure, along with 120 military personnel in tanks. We paid a cost, yes, but a small cost indeed. Worldwide, over 50 million people have died, as of last month. But we overcame it all. We entered the war under famine - now we produce 80 extra pounds of food a day. We entered the war with a feeble economy - we have come out with our steel, iron and uranium production tripled. Our army size has quadrupled. We have been incredibly lucky to be blessed with this good fortune. So it is on this day, that I would like to say - "Thank You." - to everyone in our country. To the military captains, who made a plan to increase our army. The farmers, who have been working hard to make food. Government planners, who devised strategies to combat our nation's many problems. I remember when I was still leader of Ontario. And we were destroyed. The revolution that I led. The new nation called Canada. I know what war feels like - I hated it. The dead bodies, that feeling, the flies, the heat - I hated it all. Yet you, citizens, not just of Canada, but of Orbis, went through it all. You destroyed the Axis, and remained patient - through every single stupid thing the governments did. So thank you. Thank you for making Orbis a better place. I'm sorry for being so god-damned emotional. Please excuse my crying."

*Applause*
