Based on the options in this poll, I went with center-left. I consider myself a progressive mostly in the mold of Teddy Roosevelt, although some of his positions are obviously outdated.

none of you know what the !@#$ socialism is at all and this poll is awful

fox fire, you are not nor have you ever been a socialist, and you recently admitted as much in SI

Economic Left/Right: -8.5

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.56

i hate the political compass because it assumes a certain perspective that i disagree with, making some of the questions erroneous or giving me no way to actually answer how i think

Hereno, we've had this argument before, and your own definition of socialism is not the actual definition of socialism.

Socialism grows organically within a group of people on the edge of evolution. It's. Kind of like pokemon. One moment you have a bunch of wage slaves the next you have soldiers.

I'm not going to be told what I believe either. I was never a philosophy major and I sincerely don't give a shit if the word is spelled with a T or D.

I prefer T. Why? Because a "T", unlike a "D", is symmetrical. That my friend is pretty much the one, and only reason I prefer spelling it Tao. Not to mention the fact that it's also spelled Tao in my Tao Te Ching, and I'm going to take the opinion of an actual expert on Chinese language before yours (which is that both are effectively wrong so it doesn't !@#$ing matter unless you want to be a !@#$ about it). Unless you really want to claim you're more knowledgeable about Chinese than Ralph Alan Dale. But TBQH, I doubt you even speak Chinese.

But let's not make this personal. We've had this same stupid !@#$ing argument several times now and it's not going to be different the 20th time around.

Relax comrades, take a seat. This is why people doubt anarchism so much. Who would have brought Order to the Soviet Union if not Stalin? Hitler?

My is ideology is to never define my political views along party lines, I think and research for myself. I try to stay away from most major news networks. As only 15-30% of what they report is absolutely true. They constantly stretch and bend the truth to fit their owners wishes.

I'd certainly fall in the Liberal category by American standards. At least that's what I've figured out pissing off a lot of my conservative friends with my posts. At least in America the elites have done a great job separating the country along party lines. Your either a democrat or republican and either way they can be bought off. As much shit as I give to the current GOP, I still think the democrats are just as bad.

We need to see the benefits of having multiple parties with power and money in this country and break up the politic stranglehold the dems/reps have on our system.

Because as far as I am concerned our system is failing right I front of our eyes.

I regret to inform you that the two-party system has been around damn near since the founding of the Republic. Great men like Teddy Roosevelt have tried and failed to buck this system, most notably in 1912 when he secured less than 90 electoral votes despite having served two terms as President prior.

If anyone has a stranglehold on our system, it is the rich. Those are the ones we should be liberating the democratic process from. This can only be achieved by implementing real campaign finance reform. The idea that Democrats and Republicans are the problem is off the mark. It is widely felt that our system is corrupted by money, and that is true. Perhaps some real, tangible reform might give the people faith in the system again.

Lol campaign finance reform is a myth. They will just write in loopholes if it becomes a real issue.

Because morally it is the right system.

Realistically on the other hand, it can't work in large populations. Greed and corruption are always going to be around.

It is also extremely popular with poor people who blame the richer classes and business owners (sometimes rightly) for their troubles and hard times. Taking things from rich people and spreading them around is very appealing for many people.

poor people are also slackers that never went to school xd

For "big government".

Nationalising railways, power, water, and other such things.

Overthrow monarchy.

Push for a united country and support nationalism.

Removing censorship and giving more freedom to the arts (which goes beyond just the traditional ones).

Providing a home and money to live for all citizens without the threats to remove their benefits and constantly attacking them as scroungers.

Implementing better green energy to be more self dependent (the environment business is just a bonus).

Independent nuclear deterrent.

Don't however get massively hung over the "PC" nonsense the "left" does, nor do I care all that much about people around the world or immigrants, and of course the EU is a monstrosity if it's ultimate goal is a European super state (because than my nation would be subservient). So I can be both left and right wing depending on what we're talking about is.

The common mistake people do is they decide they should go against what they really believe and delude themselves in believing what the party pushes... or if they "belong" to an ideology they believe they should never start believing in something that goes counter to their ideology.

This is a pretty stupid thing to say. If it was a "myth" like you think it is then they wouldn't have to get the Supreme Court to roll back 100 years of progress on it. Since they do, it's pretty clear it's not a myth.

People like you are a huge problem in this country. Your cynicism and defeated attitude doesn't do anything but help to preserve the status quo.
