Popular Post Andrezj Kolarov
Alliances can be officially political, as in you cannot join them unless your nation's Government Type is the same as the alliance, and once you join the alliance you cannot change your Government Type unless you leave. There would also be the option of allowing multiple types of government, for example if the alliance was "Socialist" it would allow nations with all government types starting with "Socialist" (Socialist Republic, Socialist Theocracy, Socialist Democracy, etc), if that were the case nation's in the alliance can change their government between the various "socialist" types. Of course Alliances can still be non-political and allow all government types the same as now. Kastor
For Kastor and future commenters. Oops. I just don't see a point in this. It seems to be irrelevant and would not bring anything to the gameplay experience.

It seems to be irrelevant and would not bring anything to the gameplay experience. It would improve RP in the in-game arena and foster political rivalries and activities. If you've played (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways) in the past you know there was a long-running rivalry, many wars and a whole lot of drama and intrigue between the socialist/leftist alliances on one side and the nationalist/traditionalist alliances on the other. In that game it actually added a lot of fun and interesting dynamics. I don't see any harm in "officializing" it. Chapsie
Oops. I just don't see a point in this. It seems to be irrelevant and would not bring anything to the gameplay experience. Not everything has to add gameplay. Like, whats the factbook good for besides RP? I like the idea. 3 Quote We have seized the means of production. Eric
This would add an interesting blast of real life to the game. Hard leftists could join with each other, left leanings such as me in another alliance, hard right wingers in another alliance.... might even expect to see some declarations of war based on ideology soon. But how about not making it so drastic and instead just put in an option to declare an alliance ideology in game? 2 Quote Proud Canadian, Proud Ontarian

Well, it doesn't have to be the old right v left, it could be anything, secular v theocratic, republican v monarchical, liberal v authoritarian, etc. Quote People's Republic of Velika: National Information
----
Chairman Kolarov (Generał Jaruzelski) makes a great suggestion considering the plethora of new ideologies now part of the game. We need to make the game more political rather than some silly extension of internet humour. If you need this internet humour go elsewhere, this is a political simulator.
Dimitri Valko
I bloody love this idea. Would also be good if there was a setting for religion, and there could be proper religious wars and stuff.

AiOS
Cool idea. But it's basically the same as matching your nation's color with your alliance color, no?

Hereno
I don't see the point. If people can opt out, it's a handicap that can easily be overcome by just requiring members to be ostensibly of X or Y political persuasion. If not, it hinders politics. No major war was ever really fought based on that shit. All that would happen is that alliance's would have "Change your government type to X" and people would do it because they were already willing to all go autocracy before, why would they all change their minds now? Although "Change your government type to "Metro's slave realm" would be a hilarious requirement >.> Edited March 13, 2016 by Metro Quote Orbis Wars | CSI: UPN | B I G O O F | PW Expert Has Nerve To Tell You How To Run Your Own Goddamn Alliance | Occupy Wall Street | Sheepy Sings TheNG - My favorite part is when Steve suggests DEIC might have done something remotely successful, then gets massively shit on for proposing such a stupid idea.
