Discord and bank was shitty, but no relation to BK. What does relate to us is a bad FA move and public shit-slinging which we are entitled to not feel that is our best interest to be connected to anymore.

How would a Polaris treaty be fine? One you give our gov one day to know about it, and they are not going to bully you but anyone with a basic grasp of FA knowledge will know that that treaty was bound to cause conflict. Also, the backlash was a perfectly valid reason. Not only did you not let your allies know, you also did not let your own members know. When we see your own members bailing at a treaty it does not instill any confidence in your decision making. Then you make a public call out thread. I can understand the frustration, but insulting people will not get you anywhere.

TBF to Obelisk it was born of a protectorate to OO, what motivation is there to leave it? Also, why would these alliances choose anyone else, when it seems that the popular opinion is that all that will happen is that you get rolled? Thinking that your making the game "better" is hardly a consolation when you are being rolled. Alliances have no duty to the game, just to their members. It would be honestly be bad FA to NOT join Syndi/OO if you had the option too. Two points in regards to this. The first is that the paperless sphere no longer has the Realpolitik vibe that it used to. Paperless used to be a freeing concept, but now in a way it has become a series of alliances between Test/RW/Arrgh that are merely not in paper, but stand anyways. This talk about Pantheon is an example. You had no obligation to that I am aware of, but did once your friends did, you did. AKA an alliance. VE was not targeted despite being paperless, and this is because they were not perceived as part of the sphere, which shouldn't even exist due to being paperless. As for the hanger ons, they may get shit on, but they do it for a reason. People in this game have a long memory, and allies want to see effort on their allies part, even if it has little practical effect. If you appear to have no value and are using treaties as a shield, guess whos paper might get burned when push comes to shove. NPO is in an interesting catch 22. They themselves have potential, but are weighed down by their allies and cant reach it while tied to them. Drop the allies and they leave themselves exposed. No-one in BK thinks NPO is shit, and we respect them for what they achieved last war, but they are in an FA predicament for the future. Well why would they sign a treaty they know won't work? Muddying the water only works till there is a war, when people will fall into what they are expected to do.

If you are serious about attacking BK I have some advice for you. Seek the wisdom of Gabby the Cat, only he has the key to BK's defeat.

Ok the time frame was on me I remembered that incorrectly. However, this does not change the fact that our government was not told this was occurring till it was public on OWF. This just shows how practically useless the BK-UPN treaty was as well, as it was a relic from the past. I don't blame either side for the alliance forming, but on the flip-side of us attacking while knowing an alliance was forming (assuming they did I am not in gov so don't claim to have the information they did) they also formed an alliance with war right on the horizon, with you guys obviously in the cross-hairs. The point is that the treaty was a mistake by any objective definition, if only because of the poor timing, and therefore the moment that defined 2016 as this war directly led to UPN's decline. They were the sick man of orbis, and this war showed it. And I am not blaming them for cutting players because the less inactives the better, but other alliances such as tTO are directly formed from people leaving UPN, so to ignore that there was a large active flight of players showcases how internally it was not stable.

By signing they made themselves a prime target rather than a secondary one. Remember at the time they were number 1 alliance in score and members, and 168 day which no one had won was the last war, so assuming OO/Syndisphere victory is revisionist history.
