Hunger Games would be a perfect name if the food production thing was unique to this war, but it's going to happen in every global war from now on. The Silent War seems to be catching on in practice. I can't tell if it refers to the lack of war declarations, or if it's an ironic name because of the massive amount of arguing that went on. The NPO situation alone was nearly 70 pages in various threads. Either way I don't really like it. Ground Zero combines a joke about the all-aircraft strategy and all the nuking, I think it's alright.

Sometimes I get drunk, and read everyone else's posts wondering if they're drunk too, and all the politics in this game make perfect sense for a little while.

The day NPO joined the game, people in IRC were talking about it and I had to ask what (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways) was.

It started out small. We caught the The Syndicate sneaking around outside the school and they said they were doing paper, and asked us if we wanted to try some. One thing led to another and soon we were doing paper on pretty much a monthly basis. We told ourselves that we were just doing it for political reasons, to build relationships, stuff like that. Pretty soon all we could think about was our next fix. We were doing paper you've never even heard of - NAEPS, temporary protectorates. NK tried to stage an intervention, they said they'd rather leave than watch us circle down the drain any farther. We said fine. NPO left too. It was an ugly breakup. They said they couldn't be with someone who would choose paper over them. By that point we didn't care, we were just glad we didn't have to hide it anymore. Now, we could go on about the downsides, but what you have to understand is that the rush is indescribable. Negotiating it, uploading the flags, pasting in the signatures. Posting it on the OWF and watching the likes roll in. It makes buying a city or winning a war feel like nothing. Once you experience it, you can never go back. As this point we're resigned to what we are, paper addicts. But there are lines we won't cross. We're not going to sign any ODPs. We're not going to treaty TLF. Things could be a lot worse. We get through the day just like anyone else. When you see us announce another treaty, please don't judge. That's all I've got to say.

Net damage doesn't matter, only the time it takes to pay off and the time it takes to get blown up. If I buy a huge stack of infra and it somehow manages to survive for a year, and then I fight another guy who sat at 1000 infra the whole time, he'll do more damage in the war, but I'll still be richer. I've never gone two months without getting my infra annihilated though, the highest I ever built to was 1600.

Greatkitteh is the greatest NPO martyr of them all. He stays in his alliance even though they don't let him post on the OWF during peacetime.

Do mods on this forum really lock threads because they're too interesting? Or can I shut down any discussion on this forums I don't like by posting a little bit of spam and derailment?
