Again though not talk WWII, purely WWI. Imperial Germany has no ability to deliver a decisive blow to GB throughout the war. But again, if we want to have a friendly debate about this we can always go to the debate sub-forum

Make no mistake this statement is absolutely true. Post WWI Russia absolutely needed a strong and powerful leader that could bring Russia forward. Stalin may have utterly crushed all dissidence in his rise and sustainment of power, but he also created a powerful industrial giant of a nation, an updated and powerful military (while poorly lead and trained was still quite potent) and was arguably the only leader in WWII that refused to quite no matter what was happening to his nation. If the same sort of destruction and death occurred in France or Britain, the people would have voted those leaders out immediately and sued for peace... Stalin was not someone you could do that to as easily. Without Stalin the USSR may not have survived Operation Barbarossa. And despite the hate, Stalin was actually quite a shrewd politician, if more then a little paranoid about everyone around him.

When the orders came down we were shocked, we had completely demolished the enemy's air power, the ground pounders and tank jockeys were said to have completely routed out everything that could fight us on the ground... and yet the order still came. I'd have to disagree. In WWI France and Britain has MASSIVE world spanning Empires, that took up a good chunk of the world's population. Russia was the world's third largest nation behind British India and China. Add in the fact near the end a lot of Central American nations joined in on the dog pile against Germany after the United States got involved and it really did start looking one sided. Mind you, there has never been a situation from the get go. I'd be willing to compare this to World War One, with Mensa/Guardian/SK being the Central Powers and VE and friends being the Entente

There doesn't even really need to be "one" name. During WWII no one was referring it to WWII until after the war was over and in Russia they directly and still refer to it as the Second Great Patriotic War. You could have individual names depending on your alliance. I know in the South during the Civil War they referred to it as the War of Secession or War of Northern Aggression. As a whole it could be referred to as the Great Orbis War, but each side or alliance could have their own name for it.

Thats why you don't ever name a war with a number until there are has been a sequel, that you retroactively refer to the other one as the First, or One or 1st or 1 or however you want to refer to it as

Why people can't keep conflict purely a business is beyond me. Frankly after all this is said and done I wanna go hoist a few with anyone I warred with.

Oh I don't judge any particular person in the Allances, frankly I like individual within all alliances, its unfortunately the image of the Alliance as a whole as spearheaded by their leadership.

Tough to say honestly, if Rose and SK were just on the same side of a conflict and then SK suddenly stabs them in the back, SK and Rose are suddenly in a war, politically, many of SK's allies may not want to involves themselves at all, just in case they are next on the chopping block. At least that would be my thoughts as an alliance leader. Mercifully no one has been foolish enough to make me a leader so this is merely my own humble opinion.

Meritocracy

Well let's assume that the war goes off without a hitch and its ever bit as damaging as we assume wars would be. Once SK throws their lot against Rose for no particular reason, everyone is going to immediately look at them and be "Wtf?" after as you pointed out many likely won't want to touch SK, and then whoever is left might do as is being done now and pile onto SK... we would have the same war, simply with different players.
