  1. Some men just want to watch the world burn.
  2. Aren't you guys already fighting TKR?
  3. Damn guess Rose can't hide their bank in your nation
  4. If having morals is awkward, then I don't want to be............ What's the opposite of awkward? Suave?
  5. awkward... https://politicsandwar.com/forums/index.php?/topic/16262-hello-bk/
  6. I'd be doubtful if someone told me that Rose/VE/SK split off very publicly from NPO/UPN/et al. only to turn around and convince them to fight for them.
  7. A respectable answer but probably one which should've been in the OP.
  8. I am also interested to see how 0 ground forces works out for everyone this war. I'm basically raiding back whatever $$damage totals NPO/UPN is dealing me but they do maintain air superiority and I assume they will only have so much money to raid before I start taking net-damage. Also - the less-than-one-billion damage totals you've quoted so far... Last war most alliances took between 10 and 20 billion in damage. I'd say it's way too early to judge.
  9. Is this courage or is this innovation? It'll be interesting to see how this works out for y'all.
  10. tbh it'd be nice if everyone could shift from IRC to discord. It'll happen eventually if the trends continue I think.
  11. Grub has to get involved if it is truly to be a battle for Australia
  12. It was only a matter of time before LordStrum had groupies.
  13. 1st Ed. Welcome to the First Edition of the Orbis Observer. The mostly fact-checked premier newsletter of PnW. I don't like long introductions so let's get going! Table of Contents 1. Market Prices Surge: War on the Horizon? 2. Roses in the Pacific 3. Psweet: Benevolent Philanthropist or Scheming Robber-Baron? 4. Beware the Red Scare Market prices have skyrocketed over the last few days, coinciding with both the Viridian Entente deciding to change their nation builds to retain more military on-hand and the Terminus Est-Sparta merger. Prices jumping, increased IRC and forum activity, along with a circulation of war rumours can only mean one thing. We're all really bored and it's time to smash some pixels. Minor skirmishes have already broken out with Seabass deciding to single-handedly take on Pantheon's upper tier and Arrgh decided to be Arrgh. War looms over us all and Chaos is coming with it. As a journalist it is my duty to report any and all rumors that would make interesting clickbait titles. This paper has received multiple notices of an especially audacious rumor that the alliance known as Rose was preparing to strike the New Pacific Order in a bid to... accomplish some obfuscated goal. Likely Keegoz is drunk or Pubstomper's latest instagram photo didn't get enough likes. I know I feel like leveling cities and irradiating landscapes when my photo doesn't break the 20-like-threshold. Conversely, for the sake of an unbiased paper I am also obligated to report the second part of this rumor. The New Pacific Order is preparing to go to war against Rose for crimes against Australia and for Rose being on the blue team despite their Red-sounding name. This reporter suggests an Aussie-duel between Frawley and Keegoz to decide the winner of this war. Who will be the aggressor? Who will rule Australia? Will Pubstomper ever break the 20-like-threshold? Will a Rose v. NPO war happen at all, ever? All unknowable answers, we'll just have to wait and see. Friendly small-business owner or avaricious practitioner of usury? BK's own Psweet runs the prominent PnW bank of Stratton Oakmont. Starting with nothing but a forest and some coal mines, Psweet made his initial fortune providing his citizens with work in the forestry industry and mining the fuel that lights their homes... Or did he deforest a continent and force pseudo-indentured servants to destroy their own health while working for a pittance just to be able to afford basic food and shelter? After plateauing in profits from coal and lumber, and destroying his local environment, Psweet turned to the more lucrative business of money-lending. Helping young nations establish a foothold in our world or old nations accelerate their stagnating growth, Psweet has seen millions, if not billions of dollars circulate through his vaults. But was this through his own benevolence and genuine interest in helping these nations grow, or is he a usurer exploiting leaders' need for capital while lining his own pockets with the interest charged on his loans? This paper takes no official stance on Psweet's business practices, but I will make a personal comment saying that Psweet is a fair businessman who never forgets that he's running a for-profit venture. His dedication and hard work have grown Stratton Oakmont from an underground loan agency to a household name synonymous with accelerated growth - making record profits each quarter and record dividends for his investors. Jesus may not approve of Psweet, but apparently all of us do! No, it's not Communism (sorry NPO). Terminus Est has recently found their way into the #4 alliance rank in Orbis. An extremely remarkable feat given TEst's utter lack of treaties and Prefontaine's utter lack of chill. The premier elite alliance in PnW is notorious for driving politics and making unorthodox moves that have shaped the culture of our world in a singularly unique way... But to what end? Terminus Est is themed on being servants of Chaos. An evil which threatens to consume or enslave all life. Does TEst intend to destroy the world? Will Prefontaine annihilate the very world he helped to shape? In an exclusive and fabricated interview with an anonymous source inside TEst this paper has discovered a sinister and ludicrous plot put into place by TEst leadership. [xXxAnonymousSourcexXx]: TEst wants to destroy everything. Nations, alliances, coalitions, even the memes. [xXxAnonymousSourcexXx]: Especially the memes. [xXxAnonymousSourcexXx]: Hopefully the world can stop them before it's too late. Why would TEst target Orbis's most precious resource? The source of all joy and shitposting: Our glorious memes! How could such evil exist in this world? One can only begin to speculate what horror circulates in the hearts and minds of any given TEsticle when such villainous plots are surfacing. What aren't they telling us? The world may never know. Tune in next time if I ever decide to put this much effort into a post again, thanks for reading!
  14. I think you'd be surprised at how some people view certain alliances that use treaties to shield themselves from harm. Even though certain FA teams thought it was a great idea to sign them based purely in stats.
  15. For realism, the only cap on nukes should be upkeep. For balance, I would base it the same way we base all military units so that larger nations can have more. tbh not sure why spies have a hard cap.
  16. Well if you have to sell off every single improvement except power just to competitively fight... Sounds like that would be even further detrimental to the war system rather than the stated intended purpose.
  17. So after chatting with some test server users, apparently even though you can stack 2/3rds of a military buyback - it stacks too slowly to make a difference. If your infra is wiped out before you can buyback military then doesn't it defeat the idea of improving the ability to counter attack?
  18. I think it's fairly obvious it's a propaganda point rather than a true experiment. I applaud providing the community with entertainment though!
  19. Conversely, why sign MDP's when you can just merge?
