  1. Glad to see the BigMorf exemption has been maintained. Congrats on the new paper!
  2. Live look at TKR's FA channels Edit: woah that pic came out huge, sorry 🤷‍♂️
  3. WTF is going on with TKR and its protectorates? It's Mayhem! As the perennial benevolent dictators of Orbis, The Knights Radiant have a long and rich history of involvement in helping alliances large and small develop into the best possible versions of themselves. One of the most direct ways we effect this development is through the time-honoured tradition of protectorship. On this 24th day of September 2022, we wish to update the larger Orbis community on the status of our protectorates. Existing Protectorates Federated States of Orbis We signed FSO as a protectorate a little over 4 months ago and have been greatly impressed with the huge strides they have continued to make ever since. Parliamentary democracy sometimes gets a bad rap in this game, but FSO have found a way to make it work while developing the necessary levers to remain nimble when required. While we can’t take credit for FSO’s progress, we are glad to have been able to assist and to continue assisting FSO in further establishing itself as Orbis’ preeminent parliamentary democracy. The Forgotten Realms In case you missed the recent announcement, we are excited to be working with one of Orbis’ newest alliances as they settle into the dynamics of Politics and War. Led by experienced players from CN, The Forgotten Realms are a welcome infusion of fresh skilled blood into the game. We look forward to showing them around and helping them gain a foothold in Orbis. New Protectorate Announcements We know, we know, we have a prot problem; but the first step to solving any problem is recognizing there is one. However, we don’t actually have a solution yet so instead we are happy to announce today two new protectorate agreements. World Task Force We’re finally crossing off one of the oldest items on our bucket list and announcing our first ever treaty with World Task Force. Our friends from WTF approached us in the spirit of community renewal and a desire to play a more involved and proactive role in the political world of Orbis. To this end, TKR and WTF affirm our mutual commitment to constant improvement, and we are signing WTF to a protectorate agreement with immediate effect. We firmly believe that an alliance with an active and experienced community like WTF’s should be afforded the opportunity to play a greater role in the politics of Orbis. Our expectations for WTF are high (their alliance ID is lower than ours, after all) and we look forward to working with their team to help them meet and exceed them. Welcome aboard, WTF! Mayhem Finally, we are excited to announce that we’re getting the band back together and are welcoming back to the fold some of our oldest friends in TigerFire, Boyce, Vader, and Tevron. We are proud to sign Imperium The Order Mayhem as a protectorate and wish them all the best as we work towards our common goals. --- The Knights Radiant Wizel, King of the Heralds Canbec, Prince of the Heralds BigMorf, Ghostblood Babsk Steven Hoffmann, Herald of War Modi, Herald of Internal Affairs Lancelot, Herald of Growth Kyubnyan, Herald of Fabrials Roberts, Ghostblood Apprentice tl;dr: TKR signs World Task Force and Mayhem as protectorates.
  4. I couldn't possibly imagine a more fitting follow-up to Celestial than seeing the #1 and #2 alliances join together to form a new sphere.
  5. Yes and no. See my last sentence re: possible fixes. A whale knocked down an hour ago may have no military but is likely to have higher infra than a whale knocked down and raiding for a year.
  6. I shudder to think I find myself agreeing with SRD on something. For discussion purposes, you may want to distinguish downdecs done by the losing side of a conflict (low NS due to low military), from downdecs done by fully militarized raiders (low NS due to low infra). I personally don't have much of an issue with either; the former is a good way to even things out a bit for the losing side of a conflict, while the latter is a legitimate style of play no matter how stupid I find it. Downdecs are a great way for the losing side to inflict damage to the enemy while they're being taken down. Truth is that even in the case of a 15 city downdec, the attacker can't really do that much damage if they're properly being cycled by the other side, other than when targeting less active nations who aren't properly militarized. It is of course frustrating to encounter, but it's also one of the only exciting things to deal with when you're sitting on a defeated foe. I don't really have a strong opinion on what, if anything, could or should be done to reduce the damage done by downdecs from militarized raiders. If the dev team absolutely wants to examine possible fixes, perhaps look into increasing the infra thresholds required to max out military units, or decreasing the percentage of max soldiers that can be recruited with one day's buy?
  7. Just couldn't in good conscience let this thread's post count stay at 69.
  8. Y'all are so beautiful omg Wait what
  9. lmao I think it's just a general sentiment in gov because like 90% of us were out/away/on vacation when the blitz happened. It was an extremely well-executed blitz, annoyingly-timed as it was. Kudos for that. 👍
  10. TKR members burning pixels for the 5th time this year, colourized (circa 2022) TKR recognizes hostilities with the deranged adolescents known as The Hand of Fate.
  11. Happy birthday FSO! The first of many, I hope.
  12. Is the intent of the change to nerf the losing side of a war even more than they already get nerfed by being cycled, or is that just a side effect? Conversely if you're on the winning side of a war, at some point you can't do anything but updeclare because no targets your size are in range anymore. Does that really warrant some sort of reward, particularly when updeclaring on a zeroed target?
  13. The change does not impact damage done by projectiles.
  14. Finally a realistic explanation for all of Pre's proposed war mechanics changes.
  15. GGO stands for Go Go Oblivion right? Good luck with the new sphere y'all!
  16. Under the existing system, bots can already get your spy counts more often than once a turn if they so choose and it has not lead to insta-spying. The reason being if your nation only has one day's buy, your enemies can still successfully execute any spy op they want against you without having to spy them away. Best to let a nation get at least two days' buys of spies befote wasting a spy op to assassinate them. To be clear it's 1k times however many times a bot needs to pull odds to get your exact spy count. It's nothing that'd bankrupt any major alliance but it'd cost a few million to get a coalition's spy counts. Not just 1m.
  17. Now now tell the truth. We had a beer pong tournament with the 2ic job as the prize 😉 Was initially going to be a Cards Against Humanity tournament but then we realized that would guarantee @Kyubnyan victory
  18. Finally a peace term I can support wholeheartedly!
  19. I blame Alex for taking so long to release the Metropolitan Planning project.
