After the Fall; Democracy Edition!

The King of Petravillas decides that it's time to finally end the Skullcrusher threat; but first, he comes to the conclusion that more equipment should be added onto the army. Taking some finances out of the treasury, additional supplies such as firearm attachments, smoke grenades, pipebombs, navigational equipment, and miscellaneous other supplies with practical applications are all added into the arsenal. The soldiers are delighted.

The King of Petravilla requests aid from the Amits, North Ivens, and Petravillas-Ivens. The Amits decide to sit it out of main operations, but volunteer to send some fighters to west Terras to finish off Skullcrusher settlers. Despite the reluctant position from the Amit elders, some volunteers tag along with the main army from Petravillas.

The King of North Iven states that current internal issues prohibit him from helping. Still, some North Ivens volunteer independently to go up to the mountains north of Iven and (loosely) secure them.

Petravillas-Ivens are delighted to hear of the siege, and send plenty of fighters to help.

Deciding that full strength will be necessary for the operation, Marshall Mayer gathers all vehicles and soldiers together. Many irregulars also join in, and the Royal Petravillas Army number 800 fighters in total. About 70 North Ivens are in the mountains north of Iven, and 80 Amits are split between fighting Skullcrusher colonists in Terras and cohorting the R.P.A.. An addition 150 fighters are brought up from Petravillas-Iven.

Skirmishers with various Skullcrushers - both civilian and military - result in 7 dead and 11 wounded for the Skullcrusher, and 3 dead and 4 wounded for the coalition. Vehicles are positioned strategically, and trenches are dug. North Iven marksmen located in the mountains take pocket shots at moving vehicles within the town, and fire crude explosives into occupied buildings. Amit fighters in Terras finish off killing/routing remaining settlers. The Skullcrushers are under attack, and if they fail to stop the coalition, they will be destroyed.

Back at home, the King decides that legal issues aren't easily managed nor fairly handled. A lot of issues fall onto the hands of locals and the Army. With the Army gone, local affairs become more complicated to handle. The King decides that the best course of action is to establish a court system. Elders are promoted to judges, and some of the educated subjects are permitted to be lawyers. This helps streamline things and gives most of the citizens a sense of representation.

Marshall Mayer gives the order for the first assault to be launched. Mayer personally leads the assault, taking only a few vehicles and a few dozen soldiers. Skullcrusher positions just outside the entrance to the town are lightly-manned and lightly-fortified, the heavy weapons prove effective to suppressing the infantry and breaking fortifications. The few soldiers stationed are either killed, or routed.

With the opening to the town cleared, the attack continues. Mayer calls up more vehicles and infantry. With ten vehicles and a hundred solders, the raid continues. Food stockpiles, weapons, and machinery are all targeted and either destroyed or looted. Eventually, the Skullcrushers do manage to rally the population, and Mayer pulls out before the retaliatory assault becomes to much to handle.

The causalities of the day are as followed:

Petravillas: 13 killed, 37 wounded, 2 vehicles lightly damaged, 1 vehicle heavily damaged

Skullcrusher: 68 killed, 216 wounded, a fair amount of supplies lost

The Skullcrushers have stationed nearly 200 fighters to the entrance of the town. They are skirmishing and taking pocket shots at the besiegers, but the heavy weapons stop them from getting a good counter-attack in. Still, it will be hard to launch another attack into Iven proper with all the new defenses up.

Deciding that a police force - preferably one separate from the Army - is the best way to help enforce the newly-established court system, the King of Petravillas gets to work trying to get police officers established. Ten are recruited and trained, and although it's a small force, it gives a bigger sense of security and legitimizes the government even further.

In the meantime, back down south, Marshall Mayer gets to work planning another offensive. Deciding to attack at night, Mayer orders the Amit volunteers and the Petravillas-Iven solders to fight and skirmish during the day while the main army sleeps. A little after midnight, a massive offensive is launched. The Skullcrushers had, surprisingly, plenty of sentries, and alerted the 200 defenders quickly. The heavy weapons on the vehicles are used liberally, and with hundreds of Petravillian soldiers, the position is quickly overwhelmed.

Although the attack continues, the Skullcrushers quickly mount their defenses in full. Hundreds of Skullcrushers meet the advancing Petravillian army. Using rockets, riflemen concealed within buildings, and using the urban environment to their advantage, they put the Petravillian army in a bad situation. Mayer calls for a tactical retreat, using the heavy weapons as cover.

The causalities are as follows:

Petravillas: 30 dead, 76 injured, 1 vehicle lightly damaged, 3 vehicles heavily damaged

Skullcrusher: 116 dead, 86 injured

D I

Try to get militarists  for better strategies and and doctors for a lesser loss rate.

No attack this round, get the injured treated and explore for openings on the enemy lines or other opportunities.

D1, give our troops some time to heal.

Also I don't mean to be rude with this advertisement but if you like this I am organizing a new RP that mixes something of this style and warfare.
