As a fairly devout Christian I can say I believe in my branch of Christianity due to its message rather than what I perceive to be factually correct. I have always had trouble grasping Creationism, but I do not believe it can be proven untrue so I accept it as a possibility. This is similar to how I view all religions as being neither correct or incorrect because I am also inclined to say that it is your right to a belief and that belief is just as valid as any other. I know this response is generally vague and not very strong one way or another, but to be honest I have not yet really come to a conclusion as to what I believe. In all, I have decided that I fit in my church and that the bonds and ideas I have made within it are enough for me to come back on Sundays.

Everything here sums my beliefs as well. Well said.

Back on the giants thing, read up on the science behind those "discoveries". I have peer-reviewed, scientifically and historically backed evidence that debunks the claims of Cotton Mather, for example. The remains that were falsely identified as the Nephilim were simply mastodon remains. The majority of the photos and evidence in that link you posted? Either proven to be doctored or they are a misconception. Do a reverse image search on a few of them, even, and you'll be led to either articles about the hoaxes, or absolutely nothing at all, which once again leads to it being all fake. Just like that page says, they cannot confirm the accuracy of the references they used.

 

Large apes and hominids did likely exist, but most definitely not in the biblical depiction of "giants" that you are referring to.

 

Show me scientifically backed evidence of all this !@#$, and I'm happy to have my mind changed. Deny the facts all you want, I can't stop you from living in eternal delusion. If I have more time here and I'm feeling it, I might pick apart that website more. \o/
